For gravitational slingshots they're quite useful. I hope we can invent a propulsion system that's efficient enough to make gravitational assists unnecessary, but the way things are looking I doubt that'll ever happen.

Well, if I'm right, warp is theoretically possible and there's even people working on it. I have trust in humanity!

Give us 1,000 years, we'll get things right.

Also I don't think being a forge, and being able to multiply and being able to interlock would be a problem of size, we could always just make them quite large.

You're missing the point. You can't make things arbitrarily large, you need the materials to construct them from. The asteroid belt and all of the inner planets have just enough mass combined to make such a structure have a plausible density. You can only make as many as the available materials allow. And I'm being charitable about the engineering problem of actually creating a Santa Claus machine that can turn rock into an appropriate material.

I never assumed *tomorrow we will have a structure with near infinite land space* I assumed that this task would take hundred, maybe thousands of years. But so did the Great Wall of China.
Who says in 500 years we won't have the ability to turn lead into gold, or irridium into iron?
Also the limit of resources could be solved as I stated earlier of harvesting stuff from nearer systems.
Don't talk about *It's so-so light years away* because I'm giving this project thousands of years to work. I'm just saying it seems like a simpler idea than colonizing 3,000 systems.

something similar to the rings in halo, except extraordiarily big, like more than one AU in radius, and a few hundre miles thick.

There isn't enough matter in the asteroid belt to construct such a structure. In fact, it comes up short by orders of magnitude.

    Do we need mars?
    Or Venus?
I don't think of this as a 2 day project, so maybe sending the drones to screw over some other solar system would work, and then making them come back.

Also I don't think being a forge, and being able to multiply and being able to interlock would be a problem of size, we could always just make them quite large.

K, I heard about the idea of self-replicating drones, and came up with an idea that would end world hunger, energy problems, and overpopulation.

You make a space-faring drone right? Solar powered.
Send to to the asteroid belt.
It mines the asteroid for random rock-stuff.
It has a forge type thingy in it.
It makes the same exact drone.
    Then four drones
    Then eight
    Sixteen.
    Ect.
Eventually you get rid of every asteroid in the asteroid belt, and then send a few to get rid of comets.
Now there's no more threat of a super-bad asteroid problem in the Sol system.
Now all these robots you've been making for the past few years/centuries interlock together, and make something similar to the rings in halo, except extraordiarily big, like more than one AU in radius, and a few hundre miles thick.
Now you have a enormous thing to build on.
And you go from there, making it habitable.
Using solar power or something better for energy on your massive land circle.
    Move people there.
Make Earth some native reservation or something.

This is a dumb idea, but it seemed easy in theory.

Basically waiting till Cata comes out, right now all I do is farm ZG every three days for hopes of a mount.
It's a fun game, just no new updates recently.

I thought Cataclysm was coming out in March?

I don't know when, but I know that I won't be doing much until then.

I understand many believe this to be some certain number pertaining to demons for it's appearance in the Book of Revalation as being the Number of the Beast, however, the earliest piece of that verse was found saying the number 616.
While is is not life-breaking in the least, I always wondered why people continue using 666.
Just a useless topic of my wonderings.
