I'm not sure if it's currently possible so you could first type something like /tp ~ whatever y coordinates you want ~ then teleport to the player, and then use /tp ~ whatever y coordinates you want ~ again, so if you're fast, it would take about a second.
you could also do this, however it only works if you are fully invisible no armor no tools and hiding particles, elsewise they would see you and i suppose you don't want that because then you could just ask them for their coordinates anyways
/execute at <playersName> run tp <yourName> ~ <theYyouWant> ~
the command is really simple, "at <playersName>" specifies you want the relative coordinates to be calculated at their position, the "run" means you will run the command "tp <yourName> ~ <theYyouWant> ~", which teleports you to the same x and z as that player, but at y = <theYyouWant>
if you want to teleport yourself, say, 10 blocks above that player, you would do
/execute at <playersName> run tp <yourName> ~ ~10 ~
if you want to teleport yourself at y = 69 on the same x and y as that player, you would do
/execute at <playersName> run tp <yourName> ~ 69 ~
this is a fun server to play on and imo the gamemode has a lot of potential, the only thing i would change is to have passive mobs not able to deal damage (because bats) and maybe add a little delay to the creeper (like the fuse before exploding), elsewise its a really nice experience & i recommend y'all to try it

Is this a necropost?
No, this is Patrick.
Is Patrick a necropost?
No, Patrick is Patrick.
But is Patrick Patrick a necropost?
Yes, Patrick Patrick is actually a necropost.
So is Patrick half-star, half-necropost?

you can do the following command, however be warned because if you do end up using it you will not be notified after you do any commands

You have made the right choice.
On a serious note, maybe try out making a villager hub for mending books? Or a passive mob farm for beds to help you find netherite
