DiamondAir posted a message on [1.3.2] The COMPLETE Guide to Making a Bukkit ServerPosted in: Server Support and AdministrationQuote from PlatinumBone
I'm having problems in the first guide Basic Setup, because when I download the CraftBukkit Jar it was all placed in my Downloads folder, but it wasn't just one folder with all the items like the server, ops, and banned list, all those folders where spread out in my Downloads folder, so I tried to move it into one folder, Which I named Tekkit Worlds because I planned on having tekkit in it, I started by moving the World folder and it said stuff like " Can't move program because its being currently runned" or something like that, and I can't figure it out, or was I just supposed to leave all that in my downloads folder. I got confused because you said to place the run.bat in the same folder as my craft bukkit jar but there was no file that was a bukkit folder just bukkit.jar Help :C
First: Tekkit requires a sperate server program, not bukkit.
And restarting your computer will fix the world moving problem. It does that to me too.
They all need to be in a sperate folder ONLY with your server stuff too. -

user-7022358 posted a message on Change Your Minecraft Name? Possibly In The FuturePosted in: DiscussionQuote from Reec3ty
I'm sorry, but I despise this idea of changing names. Sure, I regret my name, and more so down the track because I chose it from what bullies used to call me, but honestly let's look at the pros and cons of this.
Pros:
1. You can have a cool new username.
Cons:
1. Server Owners can't ban you if you change your name.
2. It is morally confusing for people to distinguish you.
3. It's going to cause many problems down the track, whether system overloads at Mojang, or debates of innapropriateness.
This is why I condone this new idea Jeb brought to mind, it's just plain horrible and will lead to a new level of griefing.
At first looks, I agree that problems may happen (Condone means you approve of it btw, not sure if that's what you meant) but until we see how Mojang actually do this, we can't make any assumptions on any cons there might be. Initially, I don't like the idea...but maybe it'll be really good? -
