I have the latest version of OptiFine, the 1.3.1 B1.
I recently died on top of Obsidian blocks, near lava, and lost my things. I respawned by my bed and went and got my stuff back. I then saved and quit. When I went back, all of the things that I dropped were there once again. I collected again and had duplicates of everything. I repeated this a few times and it duplicated everything all of the times.
Could you fix it? I like playing legitly, and that made it hard. Haha.
Looking for some help...first time poster, been playing for a year...not sure what all to download or which version to use.
My end goal is to use OptiFine + Sonic Ether's Shaders with a custom texture pack (x32).
Computer specs:
Intel i5-3550 @ 3.3GHz
16 GB RAM
Win7 64 on a SSD
nVidia GTX 560 Ti
Try the latest preview version of 1.3.1 A2 (the first link on the first page of this thread)
If that doesn't work, you will have to wait for the full versions of OptiFine 1.3.1 to be released and download either the SMOOTH version or Standard version. Standard version should always work.
I set it to NO RAIN and it has started to make the rain, thunder noises and lightning noises still. Even though I have rained turned off I still hear the noises which makes me lag terribly.
Also, you can see the little droplets of water on the ground where the rain hits.

I was mad because Minecraft wasn't working good with Optifine 1.3.1 preview either, and I fixed my problems. But to those of you who have to wait, GOOD LUCK!
I wasn't able to distinguish if my CPU was Multi-Core, though I am beginning to think so. I can run on Multi-Core chunk loading like nobody's business.
Some possible bugs on my end:
When starting off, breaking all blocks seem to cause minor lag. Wood seems to cause more. This usually calms down after the first night and gets better.

Im new to the minecraft forums, so don't get mad at me if this isn't the right topic. I downloaded the latest optifine 1.3.1 test, and then added it to the Magic Launcher Software. The status says 3 errors and when I try to run Minecraft it flashes the Mojang screen and then goes black. I already Deleted the META INF folder, but it still black screens. Any Advice?
If you are using the Magic Launcher you don't need to delete the META.INF folder. That is probably your problem.
I am very pleased with how this is going. @sp614x I truly thank you for creating this Mod. I may be a newbie to Minecraft of only 2 weeks, but I wouldn't be even that far if it weren't for OptiFine.
I started with OptiFine 1.2.5 working great. Then the update to 1.3.1 stopped me from playing. You worked so hard at getting a preview to 1.3.1 out! I can say for everyone here that we are grateful for that. Unfortunately for me that still didn't help. The preview froze my game for some reason! So, in a last attempt at fixing my problem, I manually installed the Mod into Minecraft rather than using the Magic Launcher. It fixed my problems! I will have a more detailed analysis soon.
Has anyone had troubles when loading worlds? It was taking me about 2 or 3 minutes, and even then with 1.3.1 preview running it had terrible lag. If you are, I fixed MY problem by adding the Mod manually instead of using the Magic Launcher.
I will give an official opinion on OptiFine in a bit.
My problem was that I wasn't able to load worlds and that when they did it was laggy. I thought it was a problem with OptiFine1.3.1 preview: WRONG.
I HAD been using Magic Launcher. I tried one last thing before I stopped playing Minecraft till' the full OptiFine update was out: I modded Minecraft with the OptiFine Mod MANUALLY and it works like a charm.
You guys it is working so good for everyone but not for me!
I downloaded the preview last night, and I don't have a multi-core computer (I think, how do I find out if I do?) so is that the problem? If so when the full version is out will there be options for no multi-core?

It also says I am low in RAM, but that is the stupidest thing because that one fact determines that I cannot run Minecraft. But with OptiFine I can run it just fine!

I have recently set up a YouTube channel and wish to record some gameplay of Minecraft to upload to the channel.
I have tried to use:
Bandicam (free)
Fraps (free)
Camstudio
.....and all of them drop my FPS, noticeably in videos.
It is weird, but Fraps shows me under 10 FPS when recording, and then when I review the video, it is in upwards of 50 FPS.....? How is that possible?

I run using 1 mod, called OptiFine. And nothing I have tried to record works without lag. A bit of an FPS drop is fine, but not THIS noticeable!
Specs:
AMD V140 processor
ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card
2 GB ram usable

Gah! I am tearing my hair out over this. I have been recording to an external 1 TB hard drive, and it isn't helping.

I can't seem to place Sugar Cane in tilled soil though it is RIGHT next to water.
???
Also, I installed 1.3.1 A2 manually and logs are still sideways (yes, A2 should have fixed it)
