Well it's purely Forge but if there's some little tool I could use that would help then I'm all for it, I just don't know where to look. And yes, it's skipping a lot of ticks.

That's the thing, there's literally nothing in the logs or in crash reports about it. x.x

I can provide them anyway, I'm just saying, it's probably not going to be particularly helpful.

    Hello everyone.

We've been having a very odd issue for about a week now, one that we can't seem to figure out.

The problem is that when we try to connect to our dedicated server (hosted with Aim2Games), it returns this error:

    "Failed to connect.

    Timed out."

Occasionally, we can connect to it, but sometimes it's incredibly laggy (the FPS drops to 3 and then 0), and other times it responds beautifully for, say, a day, and then it goes right back to doing this weird issue again.

The full list of mods is saved as 4 screenshots and attached to this post.

We have begun the process of taking the mods out one by one, and when we took out Ruins (not listed), it ran just fine, so we thought we had it. A theory is that it's the crafting stuff from Applied Energistics: the Molecular Cell Chamber stuff, because right after we did an upgrade with that, it went bonkers (an upgrade as in, we upgraded the stuff we had in our house that we built, not the mod). However, we've tried it without that mod and it still barked. Also, all of our stuff is inside of our M.E., so we would rather not do that unless we have to. Originally we had updated AE2 and ExtraCells to newer versions, and this all started about that time. So we tried downgrading them back, and at first that seemed to work, but now it's messing up again.

We also have once tried biting the bullet and starting a new world, but we put up some new M.E. stuff in the new world and a Creeper blew it up, then the same issue started happening there as well.

We talked to Aim2Games but they said they had no idea what was wrong.

All of our PCs have 16GB minimum and i5 processors or better, each with at least 2 TB worth of storage space on the drives, so a client issue has pretty much been ruled out, however, the world also does not work in single player.

I don't expect much from this, it's such a unique issue on an older version that it may be hopeless, but we're really confused and frustrated and I don't like to ask for help, but I'm left with no other options. We all also run Java 8 64 bit, and have at least 6 GB allocated to our launchers. We also each have the latest version of Forge for 1.7.10.

We have tried downloading local copies of the world and running it on private servers locally, but that fails as well (as does single player).

A couple of the mods on the list are mine, so we took those out first but the issue still persisted.

Please help, and if anymore information is needed then I will be happy to provide it.

    Thank you.

posted a message on Zollern Galaxy v1.4.4 - Add-on for Galacticraft!

    Zollern Galaxy

Good morning and Merry Christmas, everyone! This is a mod I made as an add-on for Galacticraft called Zollern Galaxy. It's still fairly small right now, but it's going to be an enormous expansion as I update it. It's actually a year old already, but there were so many issues that I had to iron out that I decided to wait until I got them all fixed before making an official thread for it. This is my first time developing an add-on mod, and one of this size. I welcome feedback, but I ask that it be constructive if it is a critique, instead of "lol this sucks" or something like that. I hope you enjoy this mod, and many more updates are on the way!

Please read this entire description before posting anything! I do not use rockets; I use a star-gate system instead. I thought it would be more creative and give a slight twist to space exploration. If you wish to bypass this, use Steve Kung's "More Planets" mod. Zollern Galaxy is DESIGNED to work along-side it!

Main Features: The main thing with this mod is that it adds planets and solar systems. I do not use rockets - I use a star-gate system instead, at least for now. What this means is that you can craft a Tier 3 rocket ship, and travel to the planet I worked the hardest on, Eden, which is an Earth-like planet in a different solar system, with multiple biomes, flora, fauna, treasures, resources and mobs. An underground dungeon also generates here that contains a boss for you to fight, which drops a treasure key that opens a special chest with necessary resources that you need in order to craft the Ancient Eden Tablet, which spawns a portal to the next planet over, and so on and so forth. Eventually, I will make it so that you can travel to whichever planet you choose to travel to after Eden, and that's probably something I will look into for the next major version. If you use a mod that has rockets in it (such as More Planets or GalaxySpace, etc.), then yes, you can bypass my portal system. Eventually I may even have rockets myself, however this could be a while as this is currently outside of my programming capabilities.

** Only for Minecraft version 1.7.10.

** You MUST have Galacticraft installed as a mod already for this add-on mod to work!

** This mod works with More Planets, GalaxySpace and ExtraPlanets (not tested on other space mods yet, will update this list as more are tried). There just may be a few dimension/biome ID conflicts that you have to change, but it is possible to get all four to play nice together (according to multiple users). Biome IDs and dimension IDs can be easily changed in the config file, should a conflict with either arise.

** If you use Biomes'O'Plenty with this mod, you will likely have biome ID conflicts - the IDs for the Nova biomes can be changed in the config file under the Zollern Galaxy folder.

    About:

Zollern Galaxy is a space exploration mod; an add-on for Galacticraft. It adds multiple new solar systems and planets, each with their own set of blocks, items, biomes, flora, fauna, mobs and resources. The Player can reach the starter planet, Eden, by creating a Tier 3 rocketship, and then, as resources are collected, the Player can then craft a special tablet. This tablet, when right-clicked on the ground, will spawn a single portal where the Player is looking. Traveling through this portal will take them to the next planet. I thought it would be fun to shake things up a bit like that, and instead of making extra rockets (which would have taken a lot more work), making what essentially are star-gates. This is how you progress through the mod, and how you explore planets. This is my first add-on mod, but I think I did pretty well, all things considered. There are currently 7 star systems and 4 planets in one solar system (Psios) - the goal is to have at least 20 different star systems, and at least 50 planets in total, when all is said and done.

This mod was heavily inspired by Star Trek, No Man's Sky, Galacticraft, and Steve Kung's "More Planets" mod. Galacticraft is an incredible mod, but Steve Kung's "More Planets" mod is what really stole the show and inspired me to create my own add-on. His code is so well written and easy to read that I had no trouble at all with learning from it, whereas I can't even understand most tutorials. The mod is amazing, and the planets and moons he created are absolutely breath-taking. I heavily encourage you to use his mod with mine, not only because it makes the space exploration much more fun and robust, but also because he has 8 different rocket tiers. This would, theoretically, allow the Player to transcend my portal system by visiting whichever planet they like and exploring at their own pace. I learned a LOT from Steve's mod, and my mod would not have been at all possible or have a lot of the stuff that it has without him. Even the problem I had with setting up the workspace, he posted about on a forum, and through reading it, I was able to figure it out as well. So definitely give his mod a look, and he deserves, at the very least, half of the credit for my mod, because his code helped me understand a bunch of concepts and how a lot of things work. I doubt that he would need to, but if he needs to use any of my code at all, he is more than welcomed to do so.

Anyway, I spent months working on this mod, and I honestly took a lot of breaks because I thought it would be a very long time before I even had this ready to release for version 1. I am sure there will be bugs and glitches; I expect nothing less. Please inform me of anything that you find and I will be more than happy to look into it and try to fix it. I've only made one other mod, called Zollern Extras, and it essentially was just, as its name suggests, an "extras" mod, so I was able to do pretty much whatever I wanted with it. However, it did not get the attention that I was hoping it would, and honestly, it didn't deserve to. But I worked very hard on this mod, and will continue to do so for the next year or two. Space exploration has always been one of my favorite things, ever since I was a child, and it feels amazing to finally be making my own virtual universe, right alongside Steve's and micdoodle8's.

I don't want to give away anything, because there are some hidden surprises and fun little things to find, especially on Eden, but on others, too. More surprises and fun little finds are always being added. This mod will likely not have a wiki, simply because I prefer the Player to explore everything and figure everything out for themselves. That's part of the fun, to me, is not knowing what's out there. I really hope this mod takes off, so I would love some kind feedback, whether it be positive or negative. There are still certain concepts that I don't understand, so maybe it is a little limited in that sense, but I still think you'll find it pretty cool.

So get out there - evolve and explore - go where no miner has gone before!

    TO INSTALL:

    1. Download and install Galacticraft 1.7 (planets, core and micdoodle).

    2. Download a 1.7 version of Forge.

    3. Install necessary files in respective locations (as in the mods folder).

    4. Install this mod and enjoy!

    GETTING STARTED:

Before getting started with this mod, it is highly recommended that you install NotEnoughItems, to show you how to craft the necessary components in the mod.

To get started with this mod, you must first craft a Tier 3 Rocketship from Galacticraft. Before you do this, however, make sure to craft a Galactic HUD - an item that tells you the current biome you're in, the temperature, the planet name, the radiation levels, and the toxic levels. This is optional, however it is highly recommended. Once you do this, you can travel to the starter planet of the mod: Eden. This planet is an Earth-like paradise, with a breathable atmosphere, tolerable thermal temperature, multiple resources, no radiation or toxicity, many biomes. and plenty of flora and fauna. You will need to mine for specific resources, mainly Virinium. As you travel through Eden, you will find certain structures:

Outposts. These "bases" generate throughout the planet, made of a special block called Eden's Sacred Stone for the walls, and Eden's Wood Planks for the floor. Inside of these bases are two special blocks: the Healing Station and the Blueprint Repair Station. The Healing Station fully heals the Player's health bar when right-clicked, and the Blueprint Repair Station recharges (repairs) the Blueprint that the Player has in their hand when they right-click the block. These two special blocks cannot be blown up, destroyed, harvested or crafted - they are only available in Outposts, or from Creative Mode. These Outposts will be greatly improved upon in future versions.

Crystal Towers. These shrine-like buildings generate only in two biomes on Eden, and will always have at least one treasure chest in them, though rarely they can have two. However, to find the potential second chest, you may have to dig through a bit of the ground inside.

Bone Totems. These oddly-shaped structures made of Bone Blocks generate only in the Blood Desert biome, and there is a 35% chance that a treasure chest can generate underneath each and every one of them.

Village Houses. These are very rare houses that spawn throughout Eden, usually with a treasure chest and a Gray Alien mob, which is merely a harmless mob that moves around and can open doors. Sometimes they spawn with one house, and sometimes with two. There are extremely rare cases where they will even spawn with three, however the chance for this is so low that it is almost impossible. These serve as a shelter for the Player, much like the Towers and Outposts do.

Drop Ships. A particularly rare structure, they are believed to be crashed space-ships of those who did not survive the travel to Eden from Earth. They typically spawn with a chest near either the front or the back of the craft, believed to be resources that the pilot was carrying from Earth to Eden.

Boss Dungeons. These special dungeons generate in any biome, however they only generate underground. They are made of Eden's Rock Bricks, and are stuffed with Mob Spawners. There is the occasional treasure chest in these dungeons, but the biggest prize is the special Eden's Treasure Chest at the very end. However, to open this chest, you need an Eden's Treasure Key, which can be obtained by fighting and killing the Crawler - a giant spider boss that growls and roars. In these special chests, you can find the necessary components to craft the Ancient Eden's Tablet - a special item that, when right-clicked, spawns a portal wherever the Player is looking. This portal will take the Player to the next planet: Zollus, a barren ice planet without a breathable atmosphere or tolerable thermal temperature. Also in these dungeons is a special mob that only shows up in dungeons: the Galaxy Knight, a very powerful mob that attacks the Player, defending the dungeon. It also has a special saying: "I am a Galactic Sentry Guard. Please leave this area, or be destroyed." Britestone also generates in Boss Dungeons, which is basically just green Glowstone.

Once you get to Zollus, the gameplay changes quite a bit. Currently, no structures generate here, however, a special flower-like crystal does, called Zolnium. They are particularly rare, and generally a Frost Giant mob will spawn near them: a large, hostile creature that protects the planet. You also must mine for Heartium, and once you have the necessary resources, you can craft the Ancient Zollus Tablet, which takes the Player to Kriffon: a scorched planet with a high temperature and no tolerable thermal temperature. The radiation here is also quite high, and therefore you must have a Radiation Protection Blueprint in your inventory. This radiation blueprint takes the damage instead of the Player, but once it breaks, the Player will be damaged; it can withstand a thousand hits, and it does not stack. There is also a Toxicity Protection Blueprint as well, which protects the Player from Toxic damage, which is on the next planet over: Purgot, a breathable planet that's slightly cold, but is heavily toxic. If you run out of Blueprints, then use the Ancient Eden's Blueprint to spawn a portal, and then travel back through it - it will first take you to Zollus, and then if you go back through the portal on the other side, it will take you to Eden, where your Blueprints can be recharged at an Outpost. While in an Outpost (or any kind of shelter that blocks the sky), survival mechanics (radiation & toxicity) do not affect the Player, similar to how the sun does not affect Zombies when they are under an opaque block or in shelter.

Kriffon's gameplay is similar to Zollus, however you must mine for what you need to craft the Ancient Kriffon Tablet, which takes you over to Purgot. There are two special things about Kriffon: namely, there are tons of lava lakes, both big and small. In these lava lakes, a special mob called a Magmos will usually spawn throughout the planet, and they are very deadly.

Purgot is a fairly quiet planet - the only two real dangers are the toxicity and the chilly temperature. You must find Evenium, and combine all of the other planets' tablets and resources to create the Oasis Gem, which takes you to the next planet, in the next solar system: Oasis, in the Praedyth system.

    **** UNDER CONSTRUCTION ****

FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING ISSUES: I am fully aware that there have been some issues with this mod, namely extreme lag and memory leaks. As of December 21st, 2016, I believe I have fixed these issues. However, if you still experience them, then please either message me or post a comment, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you. ** Please post a crash-report in a spoiler or in a pastebin page! It's very messy to post it out-right on the forum.

As I said, this is my first time developing something like this, so go easy on me. :P lol Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah you did - thank you. :) I hadn't tried the new version yet, about to do that now.

Also, no - believe it or not, I actually came up with "Project Nova" completely on my own. XD Then, upon naming it that, I CurseForge was like NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT THERE'S ALREADY A BLOOD MAGIC ADD-ON CALLED THIS! So I changed it to Nova Galactic which sounded like crap, so then I said screw it and slapped my unique last name on the end of it. Now if anyone has that, chances are we're related. XD

Anyways, thanks, I appreciate it very much.

Oh wow, I came here for something completely unrelated to my mod, and what do I find? Talk of my mod. That's awesome. I feel special.

Anyway, quick question - is there any way to turn off the "item.poop.name" that craps out of my character every few minutes? It has no texture or purpose and it annoys my users like crazy. We love this mod, but can't stand that and could not find a setting to disable it.

Sorry if this has been asked before - but if someone could help, that would be fantastic.

Also, I have confirmation that my mod (Zollern Galaxy) works with More Planets, Extra Planets and GalaxySpace all put together, so, success! But yeah - someone please help me when you get the chance - no rush.

Er... My issue is about the same topic. Why make two different topics for the same error? That's stupid and causes clutter. It's better to centralize it when it's the same exact error. Also, I did all that. Still getting the same error. Updated stuff, turned stuff off, turned stuff on, nothing worked. Plus, when I make a topic here, hardly anyone ever replies. But yeah, I used to run several forums with thousands of members, and we always kept the same errors and stuff to one thread. Made things way easier.

I have Windows 10 and can run any other version of Minecraft as well as nearly any other game (except for the Civ games for whatever reason which yes does upset me), but 1.9 refuses to run period. All it gives me is this error.

posted a message on GUI Tutorials?

    Hello all.

I need a little bit of help, if you don't mind. I've gotten pretty decent (I think, at least) at modding, and I'm developing some interesting stuff...but I still don't have a grasp of GUIs in 1.7(.10). I'm making an add-on for Galacticraft and I would like to know what all goes into it. I feel like it's not as advanced as my mind seems to think it is, but I also can't seem to find a decent tutorial on it. I was wondering if anyone here could please point me to a good tutorial for GUIs in 1.7.10? Preferably something easily understandable with a step-by-step guide, but I'll take anything at this point. If anyone could just kindly point me in the right direction, I'd very much appreciate it.

    Thank you in advance. :)

posted a message on [SOLVED] Issues with Galacticraft setup in IDE (Illegal Access)

Hello all, I'm having an issue with setting up my IDE to run with Galacticraft so I can develop new solar systems and such (just for fun and testing purposes) in a new mod. However, I can't seem to get past the setup part. It keeps crashing with an IllegalAccessException. I've already downloaded the access transformer config files for it and have put them in src/main/resources. I have also edited my build.gradle file to try and point to them. I already have all three DEV jars downloaded and put in a libs folder. The tutorial I've been following is below:

    http://forum.micdoodle8.com/index.php?threads/how-to-write-a-basic-moon-addon-1-7.4452/

I was gonna ask this question there, but I get an internal server error whenever I try to sign up, no matter what browser I use. Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter if it's an old world or a new one - it crashes as soon as I load in. Below are my access transformer cfg files and my build.gradle file. As far as code goes, I've only written the bare minimum (main mod file, mod info file, client proxy & common proxy - nothing else), so at least it's not a code issue, although that would probably be easier to figure out. I'm completely stumped, here -- I've tried everything I've read and it seems to work fine for everyone else so clearly I missed something somewhere.

I really wanna do this, though. I'm a space freak (blame No Man's Sky, Spore, etc.), so I really wanna make planets and solar systems etc for fun. This is a separate mod, btw - it's not in my Zollern Extras one. I've had issues with modding with APIs and addons and such for a while, and I can never get past it. This is the furthest I've gotten, and I feel like I'm close so I really don't wanna give up. But I'm completely out of ideas. So any help would be very much appreciated - please.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong somewhere. Here's what I've done so far:

    - Downloaded the DEV jars from micdoodle8.com for the 1.7.10 version of Galacticraft (micdoodlecore, galacticraft core, and planets - including the Galacticraft-API jar is completely empty save for a META-INF, and then, including it doesn't seem to have any affect).

    - Moved dev jars to C:\ForgeMods\libs

    - Configured build path of 'Minecraft' project and added all three dev jars as external jars.

    - Grabbed the Galacticraft access transformer files and put them in C:\ForgeMods\src\main\resources (micdoodle_at.cfg & nei_at.cfg)

    - CD'd to C:\ForgeMods in CMD prompt and ran 'gradlew clean setupDecompWorkspace --refresh-dependencies'

    - Restarted Eclipse and tried again

    - Crashed

    - Repeat process

    - Finally scratch head fiercely and then post here

So I'm at a total loss here. But I really, really wanna get this working. If anyone could help me, I'd be most grateful. Please.
