If you want a position of leadership on a server, I recommend finding and playing on one of your liking first. If you play regularly and prove yourself to be a fair, responsible, and dependable person, the local leader(s) may decide to give you a higher ranking. One of the worst offenses a person could do to make sure they never become a moderator or admin is asking to be one. This immediately makes you seem entitled or demanding. With enough dedication, I'm sure you could become a mod/admin on a server, just not by asking on a forum.
Build an interconnecting series of Scottish crannogs in a protected bay, with surrounding towers and walls, all built in the style of the European Neolithic Period.
I've started worlds where I do that, but they usually either don't last long or I find a really neat spot to build and stick with it. I guess designing buildings is just my favorite part of the game.
In my opinion, some of the most refreshing builds to create are the more organic, natural ones. Try working with the surroundings or coming up with a simple theme/selection of blocks/style and start building. As more space or new structures become necessary, add them on to the structure in creative ways utilizing your chosen theme. This can create very unique homes/bases with a distinct "lived in" feel. My personal favorite way to build is using trees, i.e. building walls out of bone-mealed saplings, treehouses, giant trees, etc. Once you get a style started, just let loose! Good luck!

I'm back! I have been recovering from some surgeries and illness, but I'm ready to visit the glorious Vanilla Isles at long last! Please re-whitelist me, my lord.
I like it. The only thing I have a problem with is that rotting logs can grow mushrooms at any light level and are common, negating the need for podzol or mycellium. How about this- if you destroy a rotten log, it drops sticks unless you use a silk touch pickaxe.

I'm sorry if I'm being an idiot and this has already been answered, but I have downloaded the ultra DOF version and I love it, but every time I swing at a mob or mine a block with a tool or item, the screen pulses in and out of focus. I assume that this is because the shader is switching focus from my tool to the block as I hit it. Is there a solution to this?
The Painterly Pack is by far my favorite texture pack. The light-hearted theme, the art style, and of course, the options. The one thing that has never satisfied me would be the armor selection. I am looking for some kind person to do a retexture of the default leather, iron, gold, chain, and diamond armors. The can have the exact same dimensions, only utilizing the Painterly color palette for their respective materials, so that they match the rest of the pack. If someone would be willing and able to do this, I'll submit the textures to Rhodox to see if they can be implemented into the customizer. Thanks to anyone who considers this request.
