Backstory (Please write a minimum of 1 paragraph. Quality over quantity.):

Duren was born a few years before the peace in Skyrim. His Dad fought in the stormcloak army and taught his son how to use an axe and a bow in-case war that size would ever break out again. He prepared his son and he made protections to their home but he forgot what it meant to be a father. Duren didn't have the compassion in his life of other Nords and he had a sad childhood, once his father died his mother fell sick and he had to care for her 6 months until she passed away. His Brother was born a year before his dad passed away and he was left to care for him. His brother and him were happy but barely got by, Duren wanted to try and get married making tending to his household easier. He went out to search for a suitable wife and left his brother at home, after a long night he found one lady and promised to visit again but as he came home his brother was gone. Duren looked all over until he saw his back-fence was broken down. Duren looked for a whole day and got his friends to look as well but they didn't find his brother.

Duren had no family left he was broken, something snapped in him, he went to the nearest Tavern and drank his troubles away. He became a wandering drunk exchanging stories he heard for mead. After half a year he stumbled upon a lonesome household and heard yelling from inside. He quickly ran up to the wall, looking inside. He saw two Nord men raping a woman in-front of her child and the man of the household was knocked out on the floor. Duren gripped his fathers axe and rushed in, killing one man and knocking out the other. He helped the women get everything in order and helped tend to the man for a day. When he was ready to leave the family offered gifts, he turned them down and walked off. He finally realized he could do good and stopped looking at the sorrow in his life, but his taste for Mead had grown into an addiction and he continued to wander telling stories, but he knew he had a purpose and he was determined to find it. He decided to set off to the town of vagrants and crime, Anvil.

After spending time within Anvil and finding a band of hobos that accepted him, known as the Vagrants of Anvil, he grew homesick. After a good few months he decided to visit Skyrim to see how his homeland had progressed. He took the next ship back to Skyrim to observe what happened. He went to the old house the family lived in and found that it was burned, probably during a war of some kind. He traveled to his old house which was now a small community, with a nice population. Duren stayed there for some time helping the people finish building their homes, and digging their well. He was in return given their finest brewed mead and to rest in his home. Duren then left once again and traveled Skyrim, visiting the cities and checking on how the political structure of Skyrim changed.

Duren had had enough of reminiscing of his home and decided to return to Anvil. He hadn't heard of the events that happened in Anvil while he was away, he was briefed on what had happened in Anvil and was frightened for the lives of his Vagrant brothers. Duren wanted to find them, he wanted to find the men who gave him hope.

    Full Name:[/b] Duren Longbeard

    Current Age:[/b] 36

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long[/b]):[/b] "My story starts here. In a hole in the ground there lived a Dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a Dwarven-hole, and that means home, to me. In this hole there lived two Dwarves, Angus Longsword, and Annabel TrimBeard. They fell in love, not a simple love that ends within days: it was the love that brings families together for generations. Back in Aegis these two fell in love, their passion brought with them a feud that almost ended the history of the best Dwarven mead of the northest villages. When Angus and Annabel fell in love, they fell hard, bringing goth their families into a fierce battle of dowries. Neither side wanted to place a dowry since they lacked any money to do so and both parties expected a dowry from the other. Angus and Annabel went off on their honeymoon within the Mead Cellar as the two families battled against something that didn't matter. The Longsword family was known for its master swordsmanship. The TrimBeards where known for their undieing pride, this brought problems all over the small village of Du'Kaz, war almost broke out between both families. Once Annabel and Angus came back, they came back to a problem that would tear them apart. Annabel was so disgusted she wanted to leave, Angus's great love for Annabel made him follow hand in hand, step in step. The families realised they lost their young and ended the feud, shaking hands never to put either family in that position, meanwhile, Angus and Annabel left creating a pact sealing them together forever and ending their ties to their family. Annabel had the bright idea of creating a new name, one that combined TrimBeard and Longsword. She suggested: Longbeard, since Angus had a long beard and Annabel had a... Nevermind, lets continue. With this new name, The Longbeards where created, forging the a family with strong hands and unsurpassed brewing skills, yet their pride would bring them close to extinction."

Duren takes a sip of his ale and continues writing.

"The Longbeard family existed through the era of Aegis, stronger than they ever where. In many ways the Mead Brewing clan got themselves into politics on accident and for lobbying of ideas. Longbeard was a name known as the leading brewers of most towns, expanding into the Human kingdoms as well. The Longbeard name was associated with the upper class, due to their immense wealth and network of relatives strewn across the lands. They where powerful, and power kreeps to ones head, slowly, but surely. The Longbeards helped the kingdom explore Asulon, with intrest of opening new business. The Longbeards expanded to fast, not enough business emrged in the region and they slowly crumbled. Quickly they tried to re-establish back in Aegis stronger than before. This became problematic since new Ale breweries came to town soaking up the rest of the business. The Longbeard name fell from power, they became desperate. Garish Longbeard, a young Dwarf lad, had the idea of turning to crime. Him and his two lackies beat up a local leaving a rival brewery. Word got out to the other Longbeards about this, they became furious and held a Longbeard council. During the council voices where thrown at each other, Mugs, and knives too. One dwarf sat cooly, Garish. He eventualy rose and yelled for them to settle down. The Young Dwarf began speaking; 'If we encourage brigands outside rival breweries, and we advertise the safety of ours, people shall change their minds.' The other Dwarves began thinking about this idea, many questions where raised, many did not want to participate but the majority encouraged them to join the masses. With this new tactic business boomed once more, but many became suspicous. Guards where positioned at other breweries, One brigand was caught and confesed the whole ploy. Business boomed in Aegis and Asulon at this point. There was now proof to bring this massive monopoly down. All business was shut down all 300 members of the longbeard clan where arrested. The Longbeards did not know how to survive without ale, slowly some died, while others knew there must be change. The remaining 237 Longbeard leaders rose up in prison demanding ale, they where cut down. The Longbeard family was destroyed, crippled, completely severed from their past greatness. A few remaining longbeards survived, ashamed of their name."

Duren takes a big swig of his ale, wipping a tear away from his eye. he stares at the pages he was writing in for a minute, then continues once more.

"Harold longbeard and Mathilda longbeard arrived in Anthos, living there for some time. After 30 years they met, quite old. They fell in love, both longbeards as well, one of the last few who came to Anthos. At a very old age they had a child, they named him Duren, standing for "Strong" in the old longbeard language. The language was created during the longbeard golden age, never used, but was started to be taught untill the Longbeard collapse. Mathilda was too old and she could not survive the child birth. Duren lived but Mathilda had passed, with a smile on her face as Duren was born. Harold loved Duren immensly and cared for him as best as possible, despite his work and loss of wife. Harold always told Duren night time stories, stories about the Longbeards. The stories where always good untill Duren became of age. Harold taught him everything of their past, it became proper for longbeards to pass on their story."

Duren looks once more at the writing, he tears up for a second and wipes it off. He takes out his knife and carves Mathilda into the side of the table, unnoticed. He sips his ale and continues on his story.

"I, Duren Longbeard, sought after the reclamation of the Longbeards past. I began working in the mines with my father, Harold for 3 years. I helped him on his way but this work wasn't for me, I was young, adventurous, I wanted to see the world. I took half my saving and gave them to my father so he would have enough to survive. I took the other half and left to explore, I found work all over in local berweries and as a servant. For 3 years I traveled Anthos discovering much about the people, I learned how to create Ale, I became an expert. I also grew addicted to Mead, since I was a longbeard, Also from the mining my hands where strong, I was a fairly built dwarf who loved mead. after another year I decided it was time to go home. I returned to my father very sickly, the coal had filled his lungs and he couldn't mine anymore. He lived off his reserves and his friends helped him. I wanted to stay but I couldn't help myself, I ran towards the mountain cliff. i looked over and saw the great lands of Anthos, I realised what I had to do, I was determined to restore the longbeard name and have it recorded, I'd make Harold, my great father, proud. I returned home and gave him the rest of my money, I kept a little to buy a book and pen, I would support my father with constant money from afar, and I promised I would visit., constantly."

Duren stopped writing, noticing the page was dotted with wet tear spots. He gulped down the rest of his mead, close his book, stood up, and walked out. The book was left there for any traveler, titled, The Dwarf: Down and up again[/i].

    Ambitions for the Future:[/b]

Personality:[/b] Very proud, Very determined, Too proud

Skills:[/b] Great brewer, great drinker, social drinker, strong

Any other details you wish to share about your character: [/b]He is intelligent, but not smart. What I mean he is smart and understands things but he is not educated.

    Open-Response-Questions[/b]
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.[/i]
    ____

    1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do?[/b]

Answer:[/b] Duren quickly looks around, he checks for ways to cross to it. He thinks about jumping, he then looks down and sees he will surely die. He decides no one shall take the diamonds, he also thinks no one is here other than him. he quickly gets topside to his camp, he looks for a large plank to cross on. He finds one and another dwarf helps him along. They get back down but the plank is too short. Duren decides to run and jump. The other dwarf holds down the boards towards the center, Duren runs and jumps off the end onto the ledge. He tosses the diamonds over and waits for help and a longer plank. WHile he waits he drink his canteen full of mead.

    2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do?[/b]

Answer:[/b] Duren quickly pretends to be a drunk dwarf, he yells, "BOY! come 'ere lemme show ye' a lil' bit o' things of me past and what not." He appraoches the boy, stumbling. The men still aproach. Duren decides it's time to act, he drops his mead, yelling "damn me luck!" As he stumbles he hits one of the cloaked men and grabs his hand, crushing it using longbeard hand strength. The men yells out loud and Duren grabs the kids and runs outside looking for somewher safe. Duren then asks the boy what was going on and tries to find someone responsible for him.

    3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react?[/b]

Answer:[/b] The longbeard love of mead demands Duren run towards the mead. All duren heard was, "get yer'self an ale!". He denies anything will come bad out of the situation and runs to the inn keeper to get his mead. This could be the end of Duren Longbeard, folled into drinking poisoned ale.

I'm pretty sure he just means don't add fake lands into the story, the land you mentioned doesn't exist in this world. You can make up fake duchies or fake towns but not a whole new land. Also I don't think being a Super smart Jesus child at the age of 12 makes you a complex character lol

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example- Tons of roleplay servers fit under my belt. I played with Trey on one, forgot the name. Aeonis, etc...

-Define Power-gaming in your own words- When your character does something he normally can't do/forces an action(overpowered) ex: "Dalton flips a table" (But he has tiny muscles so he can't actually)

-Define Meta-gaming in your own words- When you use information you gained outside of roleplay and use it in roleplay.

    ----IC Info----

    -Character name- Kas Koros

    -Character race- Dwelf

    -Character age- 77

-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.)-

Kas Koros is a dwelf being around 3 and a half feet tall. He has long scraggly hair going down to his shoulders. Kas wears general garb, looking like a common townsfolk, not wearing peasant clothes but moderately kept towns clothes. He is not strong but he is quick on his feet and can run quickly due to being considerably toned below his waist.

-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.)-

Kas Koros may seem depressed or very close to himself. He isn’t a social creature or someone who tries to interact with others, probably due to a lifetime of being beat down. Kas has become very independant and very self-reliant. He isn’t good at working in large groups but a partnership he can handle depending on the type of partner. Kas has tons of built up anger against the common races due to years of racism. Kas is very agile and quick, weak and can escape combat easily but wouldn’t be able to cause damage upon someone. Kas is always open to learning things that can help him do things his bodily restrictions put on him. He has a longing for being something that is not himself and is willing to learn magic, engineering, or anything to change what he is.

-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences)-

Kas enters his room his robes covered in mud and blood, whose? He had no idea. Panting, sweating, jittering, Kas sets his cloak upon a hangar and sits down at his table. He begins to cry, tears falling for a good few minutes. He picks his face up and starts whispering, “Weak! You… you’re weak Kas! Remember what he… what he taught, you are no longer weak…” Kas stands up, walks to a bucket and splashes his face with water. “I must remember before I lose it all, or leave something for when I’m gone, for my end is coming” Kas grabs parchment from a drawer, grabs ink and a feather pen. He looks down at his first piece of parchment and continues looking at it for what seemed like ages. “The beginning would be best”

Kas Koros, a name given by a dwarven Father, a man who cared about an abomination as much as it could be tolerated. Karam of Koros, a dwarven miner who somehow seduced a high elven maid, was responsible for raising and naming Kas, a creature that the world rejected. As the High Elf became pregnant she wanted to purge herself for doing such an unspeakable act but Karam would kill her before she could end the life of his first born. Once Kas was born the high elf disappeared wanting nothing to due with her mistake. Karam raised Kas as his son but there was never a strong connection that would exist between a proud dwarf and his son, Kas was weak, he couldn’t continue his father's hard work, he was shamed by his fellow townsfolk, he was deemed a creature not a being. Karam was threatened with losing his job and suffer exile from his village unless his son was removed from the village. Karam knew he couldn’t make himself a life anywhere else and he came up with a plan. The next day he took Kas out into the forest to look for mushrooms to create a stew. When their paths split and Kas began to yell his father's name, no response came back, he was abandoned the woods being unfamiliar to him. Kas was alone for the first time, he was 12 years of age and knew little about the world all he knew was hate and loneliness. Kas wandered, he ate berries he knew were not poisonous, his father taught him that much. 2 days went by, his hunger wasn’t satisfied by the berries anymore, he grew weaker, scared, almost accepting that he wouldn’t wake up the next morning.

Kas stopped writing, the ink stopped flowing and now his mind began to ponder. “Would it have been better to die that night? life would’ve been easier coming to an end as an innocent failure” Kas shook his head, “These thoughts are of no use there is much to be done” The ink once more began to kiss the parchment.

As Kas went to sleep for maybe his last time he was surprised with a sharp pain in his back and he fell straight to the ground unknowing of what just happened. He turned over, seeing green figures approaching him, he knew not what they were but he was terrified of what was about to happen. Goblins, that's what they were, either Kas’s luckiest moment, or his unluckiest. The Goblins spoke in their language and snickered as they approached, kas seeing their faces was terrified trying to struggle, but he was too weak. The Goblins looked intrigued, instead of pulling out blades they pulled out chains. As the chains locked into place another sharp pain hit Kas in the back of the head and everything went black. The Goblin slaves are what kept Kas alive, over the course of the next few years Kas grew up amongst slaves and slavers witnessing the world burn and thousands die. The reason he didn’t starve to death was due to the fact that he was quick and agile and could easily snatch food from his guards and from prisoners succumbing to death. Kas was used for unspeakable things, he was used as entertainment and his overlords realised that since he was so quick he was a perfect specimen for lighting villages on fire, instead of sending Orcs they’d send prisoners in first to cause as much havoc as possible.

Kas stopped again, not wanting to write about those times anymore. “It is all the same, every day was the same, steal food, walk many miles, slaughter, burn, a constant tale. I know not why I survived and many others perished, I know not why my overlords didn’t end my life, maybe because I never tried to run or rebel” Kas began to think once more, questioning why he lived why he was never killed as a prisoner. Kas shakes it off again, “What happens next is what matters, my years as a prisoner taught me how to survive, what came next made me who I am”

The ambush of Istrien Forest, or what Kas called it was something that would change his life, for better or for worse. The slaver party was traveling towards the front lines of the war and a group of elven archers ambushed the party, apparently an important elven military prisoner was amongst the group. After years of being a slave the Elven soldiers freed Kas but they were not friendly. Many prisoners thought of Kas as a criminal even amongst desperate situations and the High Elves saw him as an abomination due to him being part high elf. The Elven soldiers threatened to kill him due to being a scar amongst their species but they instead decided to let him be killed by the Pact, thinking it’d be a better end to such an abomination, so they left him amongst the dead goblins and orcs. Kas took anything that fit him, wearing goblin clothes and took their food, he continued in the direction of the front lines. After 3 days of travel in the woods Kas witnessed a skirmish of Human cavalry cutting down a warband of Orcs, as the Cavalry left victorious Kas decided to grab as much as he could carry and followed in their path. Kas ended up in a human town and sold all the salvaged goods he found, making quite a profit. He realised that salvaging battle armor was a lucrative business due to the scale of the war, for the next 40 or so years Kas built his business. He was very agile and was able to hide from enemy parties, as well as High elves. During the war many of the races allowed Dwelves to live amongst them but the tensions were extremely high and many times many were killed. The High Elves were the only ones that kept themselves pure but business flourished in human towns. The war ended up pushing Kas’s business farther and farther towards Barkamsted and there were many ups and downs. When the Human capital fell Kas had nothing left and the war became extremely dangerous, his business was no longer an option, Kas needed to do something. As desperation grew people began to blame whoever and being a creature not accepted amongst the pure, Kas felt heavy oppression everywhere he began to go. His anger grew, his desire to hurt, he never cared for the races but they let him live and survive. Things were changing, kas found that being around the oppressed was his only option, living in the worst areas, eating the worst foods, all he knew how to do now was grave rob. Kas became someone who no one wanted to talk to, back when he had a small business life was tolerable even with the racism but now he was dirt, he felt like dirt.

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.

A few quick thoughts quickly race through kas’s mind. Should I pursue or will guards see a running dwelf and think I am the thief? In those few seconds Kas makes a decision and tries to speedly follow the child, he is fast but Kas keeps his eye on the kid. Kas tries to keep low so he isn’t attacked by some angry citizen or drunkard but the kid begins to get away. Kas makes a decision once more and chases after the kid, running. Kas catches up to the kid and grabs his arm but as the kid turns and see’s him he starts yelling for help, Kas knew that if the guards came he would be the one in chains.

You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-colored wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.

Money is money and looking at pups doesn’t give Kas any sense of sadness. (This is the real world, there is no cuteness in dangerous animals, there is no modern day portrayal of animals having rights in this world, everything is based upon survival, back in the middle ages people didn’t feel bad for killing animals it was common practice, There weren’t hamsters, or dogs being kept as pets. Animals were either food or used as tools such as hunting dogs) To kas this seemed like two birds with one stone. Kas would profit from killing the wolf, even the pups and selling their fur and the local farmer would now prosper more. Wolves may only be useful to those who can tame them such as beastmasters or powerful wizards, to the common citizen it was profitable to kill and dangerous to keep living.

-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application: (At least three extremely well-crafted paragraphs. You must describe to us why your character can use magic, what drives him to further his ability, where he obtained his magic, where he learned that he could use magic, and what benefits magic brings to this character, what type of magic they’ll strive to use, etc-

Kas stops writing, having covered most of everything and reflects on his life. After his reflection he stands up and pours himself the last of his rabbit stew. After finishing his meal he sits back at his desk thinking about how to end his train of thoughts. “My inhibitions fueled my progress, what i despise in me proved to be my greatest achievements” Kas once more takes to the parchment writing about what may be the most influential portion of his life.

As he grew up in the **** hole of Barkamsted he came to despise himself more and more, the years of racism, slander, oppression got to him and molded him into a pathetic creature, one that was loved by none and one that had no place in his own world. He tried to do what his dwarven heritage always did, invent. It began with small mechanical projects trying to build something that wouldn’t create a legacy but something that would improve his own image, his body. A robotic, mechanical weapon of some kind. Kas had many ideas and when he tried to implement them he had nothing, no resources, no knowledge of engineering, what he made only pushed him further into despair. No knowledge of metallurgy, no knowledge of gears, no knowledge of mechanical construction what he made was piles of dirt and his creations began to reflect his own darkening image. Kas was looking for an alternative, something he could use to advance himself for something he did not yet understand.

Kas pondered his writing, “Hmm… What was his name?” Kas stands up looking through his cabinet trying to find something, something ancient. After tirelessly searching Kas found a tome, he brings the tome out and sets it upon the table. Dust covers the old book, Kas wipes it off turning to a memorized page. A name is mouthed, the book is then closed. Kas sits back down continuing his writing.

There were rumors in the slums of a senile old elf who developed the secrets of powerful magic but he was so useless due to his old age and his developing mental illnesses. Rumors told of his evil practices and other rumors told of how he cured ailments and possessed the power to save the people and end the war. Rumors were exactly that, rumors, no one knew this man's old name or even what he looked like. Stories manifested out of desperation perhaps, or maybe they revealed some truth. Kas decided to seek out this great wizard see if what was spread by word of mouth was true. It tooks days to find the man, Kas almost gave up but it is almost as if fate for a third time came to his aid. A riot broke out in the streets due to there being a lack of food since more and more refugees were arriving. A street battle ensued and an angry guardsmen saw Kas in the midst and something in him made him decide on smashing Kas’s head with a halberd. Kas fell on the ground everything going black, Kas awoke in some kind of room, weird assortments of things covered the walls. Animal eyes, horns, tusks, skin of what seemed like pigs. As Kas came back to the living world he noticed an old man preparing what seemed to be bread. The man suddenly stopped and began to cackle, “So it seems you’ve found me” Kas was astonished, this was the senile man he was searching for, maybe he even was magical. Kas asked, “Are… are you really what they say?” The old man cackled once more, “That's for you to decide”

After the old man saved him he decided to go to work for this man, the man allowed him to help him gather certain ingredients for his recipes in return for food, for two weeks Kas helped him find ingredients until he got fed up yelling at the man, You’re nothing but a crazy fool! No magic there’s nothing to you!” The man turned to him, all color leaving his face and his eyes turning dark, “If you doubt me then there is no place for you to learn. Magic is not for everyone it takes years and if you don’t have the patience for a month to prepare something that will maybe give you a sense of the second world we live amongst, then you should go back to your life as the bottom dweller of society” That one statement by the old man ripped through Kas everything he said made him realise he was nothing, there was nothing left for him except this one chance. Abandoned since his own creation this was his only second chance, the old man pushed him through the floor but made him realise how little he had. Kas apologized and began to work for the man helping him in any way, essentially his servant. 10 Years went by and Kas was taught maybe the basics of basics. The old man did not follow the laws he was a wizard of dark magics and human alterations, his teachings were something that could be used for revenge. Magic that could be used to get justice for the years of **** and oppression that Kas suffered through. Kas had a deep rage built up and learning these magics helped him feel as an equal to those who shoved him into the dirt. Kas saw a window of opportunity but it didn’t last long.

The war was over, peace was restored to a broken world soldiers returned to their homes and now the corruption and problems that went unnoticed in the city became much more apparent. Guards began to follow the rumors of the senile man and maybe he himself knew what was coming because his last week he became a different man. He truly became senile, Kas was learning nothing but he saw the man deteriorate, truly become crazy. One day Kas saw from the street how guards broke down this man's door and dragged him out of his home in chains. he was sentenced to death for the practice of dark magic, having a public execution. As Kas looked at the man's head fly he heard his voice in his head, “Burn it all”

Kas stopped writing. He grabbed leather binding and bound his parchment, on the front he wrote: A tale of an abomination. The book was sealed in a stone wall and Kas grabbed a torch off the wall, dropping it on the floor letting the house set aflame.

-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph)-

When learning magic you cannot learn every type, there are specializations just as in the professions such as crafting, smithing etc. Magic has restrictions in pvp, you can’t be constantly using magical spells, spells take something out for you just as regular combat takes endurance to take a long time. There are illegal magics just as there are illegal actions such as thieving. To be even slightly competent at magic you must put time into studying, practicing, exploring and much more. Becoming someone who can even be harmful with spells takes time, more time than learning how to use a sword, Magic is a roleplay path that opens options to players but also closes some options if you choose to continue down that path. Magic is not instant, in combat you must understand the restrictions you get and the time it takes to use magic.

-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words-

Magic in this server is give and take. In combat magic doesn’t make you better, it takes your physical abilities and sacrifices them for magical abilities, magic is a form of roleplay it gives differentiation. Magic on this server isn’t for making an ultimate character but instead it is there to offer a different course, a different story to play. Just as in professions there are limitations and just with professions time and practice improves your skill. The Magic system is balanced and offers variation to people's style of roleplay.

-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket)-

A trinket of fire is very useful for survival. Kas learns after fiddling with this trinket that it heats up and if touched to some surface then it transfers that heat. Kas takes hours out of every day to learn how to focus this heat and focus the heat flow, the trinket is not extremely powerful, or at least kas isn’t and only slightly heats. Kas begins to use the trinket to heat up his water and boil out the germs he also uses it to warm up flint so it is easier to light a fire. The trinket begins to help kas with little everyday things and after days and hours of practice Kas is able to create a spark with his trinket, a fire starter or in some ways a heat source, a very useful tool. After long use of the trinket Kas is always exhausted and hungry, it seems the trinket feeds on his physical requirements.

    Name: Ian Kennedy

    Age: "Unknown" Around 20 - 30

Appearance: He is a tall man, he is athletically built, he has a beard from the years of disservice to himself. He has scars all over his body from fights he has been in. Wears ragged clothes he picked up on his travels, pre-war business wear turned to ash covered drapes.

Personality: He has a very confident and strong voice. From time to time he has coughing fits, no known reason, probably due to the Pitts Radiation. He is knowledgeable enough to realize what is a threat and what is not but he has no knowledge in Pre-War technologies. He can be kind and he can be heartless, he doesn't care for the common man but those that make an impression on him are looked up to.

    Backstory:

The story begins, not as a happy tale, but one of death and chaos. The Pitt was known as a hell hole, mutation, radiation, slavery, and death was the common word from the place. In reality the Pitt was one of the only nations within America, It had a leader, a united people, A territory and most of all, what all the others lacked, An Industry. The Pitt used its Slaves to create many things within their Steel Mills, with this power the Pitt had the ability to grow, but all of it was built upon the backs of an oppressed people. The guards or the "people" of the Pitt believed protecting their lands was harder than suffering in the Steel Mills. Slavery existed all over the Americas but no place had it like the Pitt, slaves died within weeks of purchase in an exhausting tormenting death. There where little babies produced as no slave had time to enjoy themselves and supplies lacked. Even with the little odds of survival it did happen, a child was born without mutation, his mother had to hide him right away for fear of his suffering. The next day his mother collapsed from the work and was trampled by other Slaves who needed to finish her work. This Child was picked up by a women by the name of Sandra who cared for the baby, naming him Charles after her dead lover. Sandra began using Charles to help her work by climbing into cracks and other places to retrieve things or fix something. Sandra lived there with Charles for 8 years until she finally died from the exhaustion, Charles lived on his own stealing scraps of Trog meat from the slaves until he was found by a "resident" of the great Pitt stealing.
"What the **** is this? A kid? Get over here now!" Charles approached him because he saw what happened to those who didn't listen.
"What the **** do you think you're doing here? Did you get captured or what? I highly doubt that you little ****" The Kid just stood there looking the man in the face.
"Answer you little **** head!" The Kid began to open his mouth as another raider came by.
"Yo, what the hell are you doing with that kid? Remember what Ashur said, all kids are to be raised for the army, get him over here you hungry ****!" The Kid quickly ran from the other raider to the one who said he needed to be recruited. The Raider that saved him became his master teaching him how to fight for 8 years, all that time he taught him how to watch over the slaves, and how to treat them. Charles was called Butch and that became his name. He was kinder than most to the slaves because of his connection with them, many times he would convince them to keep working with his words. Words became the weapon of "Butch", he convinced the slaves of the Pitt to work instead of use force and terror. "Butch" started to use this weapon to gain some friends within the "people" of the Pitt and worked his way into a circle of friends as he called them. Time passed and "Butch" began to learn of the cruel fate caused by the people he resided with. He knew what he was doing was wrong but he couldn't become one of the slaves, he needed the food and support the others gave him. His Master stopped treating him like a kid after 8 years, Butch finally became a true raider and lived on his own. For two more years he lived like a savage ***hole, then something snapped. He realized what he was doing to the slaves, who he once was, he was sickened by what he did. One day he ordered a slave to follow him to the gate, he told the Guards that the Slave was about to get his hand cut off, and he didn't want to cover his desk in blood. The Slave was scared out of his mind and tried running, Butch caught him and whispered to him.
"I'm going to get you free, don't worry, just don't run away." The Slaves face went white in fear of trickery, but he did not complain. Butch then took the Slave across the bridge to the train tunnels, and left, to a new land. The Slave thanked Butch and left on the first stop. Butch finally was out in the wasteland, he traveled in Caravans, as a guard collecting caps and living his days in the eastern wastes. His life had no meaning or path, he never wanted to return to the Pitt, he never had a family, he had nothing to shape himself after. He had no goal, until he met a very strange preacher. This man was in robes preaching about a promised land untouched by the war, full of greens. He was looking for brave young men to sign up. Butch was interested and listened to the man preach.
"There is a place untouched by the great bombs! Full of unradiated snow and lush greens! It may be cold, but that is because it is untouched by the heat of this ungodly radiation! Anything is possible in this great place, I must reach it but alas I have a map but not the strength to go, I require young strong wastelanders to find the land untouched!" Butch quickly volunteered and followed the Preacher until he had 5 others. As "Butch" found this new path he also decided to give himself a name, a name that meant something to him, a name that was not from slave birth or one that was from raider grasp. On his journeys he met a man who lived in the wastes, alone, he lived what some would call the "American Dream", his land was fertile and he could sustain himself, he was truly independent and could protect himself, "Butch" worked with him for 2 days to get some water and food, the mans name was Ian, a name that would forever be associated with freedom. "Butch" would whisper this name to himself every night, at last he made the decision of naming himself Ian, hoping the name would bring him the "American Dream" he sought. He told the group he was known as Ian.
"Now, you are all interested in this mission, let me tell you where we go, the great City of New York, the eastern beaches, so large it is untouched by radiation, and full of old world technology! I have almost been there myself but now I am old and I will need your help, there is much wealth in those eastern lands, so just stick to me and listen to what i say and we shall get there in one piece." The group then began their journey, they put their caps together to buy supplies that would last 5 years if need be. For 3 years they traveled west following this old man. They walked through the fields of the Wasteland, much of it lacked beauty and they traded and hunted with settlements sometimes miles apart. Many cases they encountered raiders and hostile groups that they attempted to avoid, 2 men had died on the journey, from sickness or wounds, the group would never know. On the fourth year they came to a mountain pass, the Great Appalachians.
"We are close! These are the great tips of the Appalachian mountains! Years of hardship and we are almost here! Continue my brothers, riches shall soon be ours." The group could not continue any longer, they had no more strength, they all stopped and created a shelter, they hunted during the day and played different games during the night. The old man was depressed, he sat there every day looking at his food not eating, until Ian decided to cheer him up.
"Don't worry, I'll continue the trek we will make it to New York, the riches, the wonders, we'll get them." The Old mans eyes sparked with happiness, and that made Ian's day. The two set off to finish the travel to New York, they stumbled upon a small abandoned town and they scavenged it, the Old Man went first, a rigged gun fired into him, killing him. Ian stood over his body looking baffled that such luck overcame the man, steps away from his goal he was killed by a trap from the past. He cried at the humor in the cruelty of the world, he buried the mans body, a practice that he found was common in the towns he passed. He was new with this type of farewell, he said goodbye and promised him he would continue the journey, for the old man who became his mentor and hope for the past few years. Ian took the old mans name with him, a way to bring him to his destination, Kennedy was now the end of Ian's name, Ian Kennedy. He took up his bags and continue through the passage into the city, the skyline was amazing no town had anything like it, It was a reminder of the Pitt but something more attractive, not a cloud of death and smoke. This was the road to New York.

Previous Role Play Experience: I've been role playing on Minecraft for 4 years. I've been on many servers, F:WNC, Aeonis, FWW, Rite of Passage, Akavir, LOTC, Etc.

In your own words define Meta-Gaming: When your character uses information that you personally know while the character does not, in role play.

In your own words define Power-Gaming: When a character does something impossible by realistic standards, ex: A Dwarf lifting up a spaceship and crushing his enemies

What is NLR and what is it's purpose?: New Life Rule, when you die you don't remember why and you can't go back to previous locations to seek revenge, most servers use NLR as you've been knocked out and forgot why.

Please describe the difference between OOC (out of character) and IC (in character): OOC Is when you yourself are speaking, IC is when you're in the chat speaking as your character.

Have you ever been banned before? If so why?:Yep, I've been apart of many servers and staffed many servers and when the Owner goes against what the server was made for I don't particularly like it and I am not afraid to express my opinion.

Why do you want to join us?: The theme is really cool, it's a new type of server I haven't really seen before and I enjoy role playing.

    IC Information --

Remember, the faction you choose will have a huge impact on your character.

    Character name: Dagon Thannor

    Faction(Choose one): Seraphim

Age: 26(Assuming Elf years are equal to Human years)

    Race: High Elf

    Gender: Male

Personality: Dagon is loyal, he will not go against his own people, he is also fairly intelligent and will not rush into situations, but he'll never betray those he has respect for unless he somehow loses that respect, which is hard to do. Dagon is also a man who will try to fight something with combat before words, if there is ever a chance for Dagon to use violence he'll go to that option. Dagon is also very calm and doesn't get angry, when he tries to solve something with combat he isn't doing it out of anger but he seems as it is the best option. He also has flaws, he doesn't believe in retreating and will fight to the death if he was in a losing battle, he would never accept being taken prisoner.

    Appearance:

If need be I can modernize this more on my own

Extra: Will never turn down a drink.

    Backstory (Atleast 2 good paragraphs!):

"Dagon awake, Let the light of Eva shine upon thine eyes. Good, you awaken, Eva has given you the blessing of her heart. You wont remember what happened, It is the curse of battle. Let it be known that Mars gave you the demon within to slay our foes, thousands lay dead, how many by your doing only Mars now knows. Dagon Eva and Mars shined within you this day, If this does not prove to you that you're Seraphim then nothing can. Stand, look at the carnage, look at the power of Seraphim"

Dagon stood, covered in blood and dust from the thousands of slain men, Dwarves, and the races of the Universe. As he looked up from the bodies that littered the battle field he saw a burning city, The fire of the Seraphim. Dagon didn't remember much of his past, it was all a blur at this moment. He remembered images of the battle, one which stood out to him was a blade sliding into his chest, that he remembered well. He remembered glimpses of his home, where he was raised, leaving his home and joining the army. He remembered who he was, why he did what he did and looked back up at the burning city. His face began to turn into one of happiness, a smile broke out on his face. Dagon raised his blade and held it high, until he collapsed from his wounds.

Dagon awoke once more, he was in a medical bay, being treated by Seraphim field surgeons. He sustained heavy wounds from the battle but he knew that he loved every moment of it. Killing the infidels of the world was what brought him joy, his life was devoted to the Seraphim and he would do all to please his people. Dagon fell back into a deep sleep, the last thought in his mind was the excitement of joining the next fight against the next non-believers, or enemies of the great Seraphim.

Great RP example, a lot of depth but your backstory requires work.
    1. tell me more about his life and special events that happened
    2. it's very general lacking any specifics

It's a nice long app but I want to see a few things
    1. the rp example needs more dialogue, pretend you're doing it like you'd rp in the server, talk with the guard struggling or do some actions using **'s
    2. Tell me about your journey to Seattle it seems very hard to do, especially from Texas so I'd need a nice story of how he survived the harsh walk, and had enough to eat and drink to get there.
    3. It seems highly improbably you'd just abandon those people who cared for you, give me a better reason that would make sense.

Great rp example but you have some problems in the backstory.
    1. reread the rules, you misinterpreted them.
    2. Doctors are rare in the wasteland, also discovering a tumor requires immense medical supplies which don't exist all over the wasteland
    3. It's the wasteland, not the wilderness
    4. Tell us about your trip to Seattle or just include it since Seattle is far and would be dangerous to get to.

A really interesting story, but it lacks meat. Tell me more, it's a bit short. Include your trip to Seattle, include more about how the town survived with no weapons or defenses, just give me more story.
    Quote from BeckyCase12
    -snip-

You made your backstory even shorter.
    1. You need more backstory, tell me about her old life prior to being a follower
    2. you cut parts out and just left it, that is bad. Also you just casualized a 1000 mile trip, the Followers are not near Quebec in any way, the trip from California to Quebec on foot would take a LONG time, also that village has to be near California otherwise there's no way you'd know the language.
    3. Make a long story about the dangerous trip, also it seems EXTREMELY unlikely that raiders would travel hundreds of miles to capture people to just travel back hundreds of miles.
