You are indeed posting nonsenses, since you obviously don't know what "indie" means. Mojang is still an independent video game developer, and besides, it doesn't care if that changed in the future and Mojang stopped being independent, Minecraft was created as an Indie game and it will always be that way, you can't change the past.
Let me rephrase that. Too bad Minecraft isn't as indie as it was when I enjoyed the game.

Notch did mention a survival mode a long time ago in creative, such as a "Protect the Fort" type of expansion. It would probably be like 10 dollars and added to Minecraft.
Back in that time, Notch had no clue that this project would get as popular as it is now. He probably made the "All future updates for free!" in the spur of the moment. Such as not thinking of the game having a fan-base of millions where he would lose a ton of money for the all updates for free.

I found it to be quite amazing, after traveling through some cool cave looking structures/mountains with curves west, I encountered a huge ocean, and moderately sized islands that lead on to more ocean on the other side. The ocean is actually so big that max fog distance didn't even show half of it.
While exploring my world for 5 hours, just walking and watching, I found even more awesome structures perfect for building on. I have added more screenshots. While in debug mode, I seen that there are MANY caves underwater perfect for exploring. The caves are massive, and go entirely across rivers underground. Minecart transport possibly?
Here are some screenshots.
I'm pretty skeptical about most worlds actually, but this one just so happens to put me in awe. I definitely recommend a try.
Edit: Posted a gazillion more screenshots.
