posted a message on Snow Golem Buff
I feel as if snow golems should be buffed in some way.

As a "utility" mob, they tend to be somewhat useless in any situation, except rarely when one brings 50+ of them into the nether. Usually they try to pull a fast one on something hostile, but end up getting slaughtered in the process.

However, snow golems are extremely cheap and renewable. Adding even a little bit of value to them could mess with the balance of Minecraft mobs.

After reading the new snapshot notes about the new blocks/biomes, I feel like one could "equip" a snow golem with some kind of weapon, a "packed snowball." Two could be made from 2 Packed ice, 2 Flint, and a snowball.

Yes, I know I used ice in the picture. Packed ice isn't out on Minecraft recipe designer.

The recipe can (should?) be tweaked depending on balance issues.

    Effect:
Snow golems' snowballs now deal x damage.
x being anywhere from half a heart to 1.5 hearts. (Numbers may be changed.)

Packed snowballs count as "weapons" for the snow golem and have 80 uses. (8 skeletons or 10 spiders)
    Uses can vary.

I hope you like this suggestion! :)

posted a message on Let's have some REAL bosses!
(Meant with the most constructive tone)

Not a bad idea at all :)

Several things to think about though.

The Enderdragon has a fairly short tail for its model... Attacking with it would probably involve him/her doing a 180. IDK, I imagine that the attack would either be far too fast or heavy and slow. Besides, as it turns, hitting it will cause him to change direction anyways.

Foreclaw/Bite seem reasonable to me :)

What happens to the grabbed player? Does he just suddenly lose all control? Can he attack? Is the grab calculated as a very, very tall jump?

I like the fireballs... I think they exist on the Xbox version. Wonder if it'll make it to PC.

The exploding thing? The End is small. More hole would make it smaller. Less endstone for everyone :(

My main thought is that it doesn't really matter how much damage the dragon does, it is the behavior that's hard to get right. It homes in onto the player, dealing massive knockback. If you hit it, it changes its direction. all you have to do in reality is right click just as it comes close enough, and the enderdragon has to change direction. Even with an arsenal of nice moves, it's his nature that's flawed:
If you hit the dragon with seeds, he runs.

    Moving on to the Wither.

I feel like adding Thorns wouldn't be the best idea. There's little... "counterplay (?)" when it comes to that. Basically, no matter how skilled you are, you'll always be hit by the Wither if he has thorns.

Spawning other mobs while fighting a boss mob? I guess that's okay, but if the wither effects stack you won't be able to regen fast enough. Also, when he's spawning wither skellies, you'll be forced to melee him. While his attack knocks you back, you'll be forced to deal with the Wither skeletons, while the Wither regens from Wither effect. There's also the chance that the wither will aggro the skeletons by hitting them with an accidental skull.

The 4x block RAGE mode would be cool. Maybe numbers and block griefing have to be altered, but I'd want to face that :)

The Wither's main problem is that if buffed too much, you can't touch him. He needs vulnerabilities because he's a boss that can regenerate, outmaneuvers and sometimes outranges you. (I don't think skulls have projectile fall-off; his abilities are limited by sight range) If you have to fight his minions and take damage when you attack him, you're in for a (nearly?) impossible time :P

    TL;DR:
Bosses are inherently weak because they have to be. Once you figure out their gimmick, they're done. I agree buffs should happen (I have no idea how though), but some things won't work IMO.

(I don't know whether to give bosses genders or call them "it" D:)

    Theorycrafting rant:

Making bosses "harder" in Minecraft is difficult because the combat system is frankly... limited. Making a bossfight harder in minecraft usually means making it longer. Dodge left. Dodge right. Do a 360 while hopping. Sneak. Fire an arrow at 35 degrees. If you miss, the boss regens and you have to do it all over again. Adding fancy moves may make the graphics more interesting though :)

posted a message on [WIP] Team Fortress 2 Mod (Restarting and why)
    The location of this post:
    http://minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/board,60.0.html

Yes, it has been requested many times, but there are no full, comprehensive TF2 mods out there. The beloved Sentries and Teleporters mod is great, but it's not complete. All recipes suggested are meant for balance.

    Background
Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a first person shooter game by Valve, and run on Steam. It's a not as serious, but more light hearted first person shooter than most other modern games. It has 9 classes, divided into 3 catagories: Attack, Defense, and support.
    Offense-
The Solider, The Pyro, and the scout.
The Solider is a war-loving American, with a rocket launcher, shovel, and a shotgun.
The Pyro is from an undetermined place, and he has a homemade flamethrower, fire axe, and shotgun.
The Scout is a young baseball fan with a scattergun, pistol, and baseball bat.

    Defense-
The Heavy is a HUGE guy from Soviet Russia. Armed with a minigun, his fists, and a shotgun, he's a meatshield.
The Demoman is a Black Scottish Drunkard who blows things up and cuts things. He has a beer bottle, A sticky bomb launcher and a grenade launcher :P
The Engineer is a Texan. He's an inventor of sorts... He has a pistol, a wrench, and can build sentries (turrets), teleporters, and dispensers (Heals you)

    Support-
The Sniper is this guy from Australia who well... shoots things. My personal favorite, he has his rifle, an SMG, and his knife, the Kukri.
The Medic is a failed doctor who went and became your average mad scientist. He loves doves and all things bloody... He is armed with a medigun, a saw, and a syringe gun.
Finally, the spy is a French guy who loves suits and knives. He has a cloak, disguise kit, pistol, and a knife.
Please read the whole post! :)
Well, you probably do already, but I update a lot of things on this thread... Just check the last time I updated it and what has changed from then until now. I'll post in this spoiler box what the last item added was!
Jarate, BONK! Atomic Punch, and Crit-a-cola. 1/9
    Class Tokens! 1/10
    Removed Mad Milk 1/10
    Added Brass Beast 2/18
Maps
So far, we have 2Fort: Up for download HERE.
    http://www.minecraft...ortress-2-maps/

    Notes:
1) Spy is one of the hardest to think of its mechanics, probably a nightmare to program. Spy will probably change... so.. eh.
    2) As of Jan 7th, there is a new coder (MasterEric) who is planning to do armor, and once this mod takes off, SMP Porting! :D
    3) A Movie trailer by namco_4 will be done... sometime :P
    4) Maps are being made! :)
5)This mod is going to probably require Modloader, Modloader MP, Audio mod, and maybe definitely player API. We'll also have MCForge.
6)Not all items function like they should in the real TF2. This is because 1) It is minecraft, and 2) Every item should have a unique function.
    7)If it has a pig, it's renewable.
What is DONE; what is WIP.

    What the Mod Adds!
This section is a bit outdated. Will be updated again after this week.
Items
If it is bolded, it is done. Oops. I think I meant Underlined.
    Offense!
The Pyro:
The Flamethrower is a must for all Pyros..
Suggested Recipe:
First is the lighter: Crafted with 4 flint and steels in each corner, surrounding a unit of redstone dust. The remaining blanks should be the eternally burning Netherrack.

    The Nozzle:
Two iron across the top and top right, a diamond in the middle, and three gold in the bottom left corner.

    Handle:
    :Pig: (Mob drop)
A leather across the top and bottom, Iron across the middle.

The flamethrower is crafted in a shapeless recipe of the three.

    Ammunition:
    :Pig: (Mob drop)
Crafted as 2 blaze powder in a shapeless recipe, creates 5 "Flares"

Attack is right click, shoots Flares quickly in succession, lights mobs and terrain on fire, has very short range. Infinite durability. On hit per flare, deal one damage (1/2 a heart)
The Axtinguisher:
:Pig: (Only the grip is renewable)
    Grip:
One iron in the bottom, two sticks (one directly on top of the iron, and the other on top of that) and leather on either side of the iron.

    Axe-blade:
An iron on the left, an iron in the middle, and a third on the bottom. Snowballs on the upper right, right, and top.

    Axtinguisher:
Three grips in the center, and two axeblades on either side.
Durability of 1000; on hit, extinguishes mobs. If mob was extinguished, (I think an if-statement can accomplish that much, I'm not sure how...) deal 5 hearts. If not, deal 3 hearts.

    Like so?
    if(entity.isBurning == true)
    {
    axtinguisher.setDamage(10);
    entity.isBurning = false;}
    else

    axtinguisher.setDamage(6);
Sharpened Volcano Fragment:
Crafted with 2 grips in the middle/bottom, and smelted Volcano pieces placed like a normal axe.

    Volcano Piece:

Durability of thrice diamond (That IS a lot of obsidian.)
Deals 1.5 hearts of damage, lights the opponent on fire! :D

The Soldier:
As always, the soldier needs his rocket launcher:
The handle is same as the Pyro's.

    The Tube:
Iron across the top and bottom, glass on the left.

    Armaments:
A diamond in the middle, obsidian on the left and right, and the rest is redstone.

The Recipe is shapless combo of the handle, tube, and armaments.
    The durability is infinite.

The Rocket launcher fires rockets, duh.
    :Pig: (Mob drop)
    Rockets:
Iron ingots on the left and middle, redstone on upper and lower left, and a gunpowder on the right.

Rockets deal splash damage about the size of TNT. Does not destroy blocks, deals approx 6 hearts of damage at the center of impact. You can hurt yourself. However... Rockets are NOT affected by gravity. Rockets dissapate or automatically explode after about 32 blocks.
The Equalizer (A pickaxe!!)
Two grips, and three pickaxe blades.

The blades are crafted as two obsidian on the left and right, iron in the middle.

When held... (each unit of health is half a heart, remember!) Ok, watch my fail attempt at java...
    if(playerHealth<6())
    {
    player.setSpeed(3.0);
    }

    Yeah, something like that.

Durability of diamond, can mine things that diamond can mine, deals as much as an iron sword.

The Scout:
The poor scout needs a baseball bat...
    The Sandman!
Needs a grip.

Put the grip on the bottom. Now place two logs on top as if you were building a sword. Place iron on either side of the top log.

Place cactus on either side of the second log.

On hit, deals heavy knockback, 1.5 hearts of damage.
    Durability of iron.

Alt-fire (right click) launches a baseball.

Well... the baseball deals 1 heart damage, and can only be fired once every 20*15 ticks (I believe that's 15 seconds...) Projectile goes straight like an arrow.
    Maybe Sandman extends Bow? IDK...
Mad milk!!!
:Pig: (Except for the bucket)

Crafted by milk, sugar in the corners, fermented spider eyes on the top and the bottom, and bonemeal on left/right.

    When drunk:
Causes player to deal twice the normal damage, have a move speed of 1.5, and have a double jump. Its effects last for 5-10 seconds-ish? (Math.random())

Note: Mad milk does not function like this in the real TF2.
This is because if Jarate is ever added, Jarate and Mad Milk can have two unique functions

    It's actually renewable!
Crit-a-cola
Crafted with a potion water bottle, purple dye, and Milk.

When drank, all damage you deliver does 5 more damage. (2.5 hearts) One use only.
BONK! Atomic Punch
Crafted with water bottle, Red dye, and milk.

One use only. Makes one take .25 (1/4th) damage they would normally take. (to the nearest half heart) Lasts 10 seconds.

Defense!
The Demoman
Beer Bottle of the Demoman
Bottle:
Crafted with a cocoa bean in the middle, glass in the shape of a helmet, and diamond blocks across the bottom.

    Beer Bottle:
Bottle in middle, Plus Mushroom stew (we know how the demoman gets high!) on either side, obsidian in the corners, and TNT for the rest.

    9001 uses.
When held, reach is increased to 20.

Left click: Heavy knockback. Deals 9.5 hearts of damage. Small chance of opponent catching fire. Small chance of poisoning.

Right click: When drank, the durability decreases by 2. Effects may include speed set to 5, heavy smooth angling, fire resistance, regeneration, and damage multiplied by 2.

This is NOT renewable in the slightest... In fact, it only has nonrenewable resources excluding the mushroom stew!
Trusty Grenade Launcher:
A handle, a tube, an ammo container, and grenade case.

    ----

    ----

    ----
    Grenade case:
Place iron ingots like you would craft a boat.
Place a grenade in the middle,
And cover the top with some obsidian to be safe...

Smush it all together to create the grenade launcher!
Basically, it's a portable TNT cannon... IDK if it should shoot TNT, or bouncing grenades. Bouncing grenades is much harder to code, but def. not impossible! Infinite durability! Shots affected by gravity more than bows.

    Dense Gunpowder:
    9 gunpowder, nothing special.

    Grenade:

    :Pig: (Expensive, but renewable)

String on top, dense gunpower in the middle, gold nuggets for the sides, and cactus green dye for the bottom. Fully renewable!

Right click to fire Grenades! On hit, the grenades should bounce and wait a few seconds before blowing up. About a creeper explosion, DOES destory blocks, and hurts. A decent 3.5 hearts per grenade.

The Heavy
The Devastating Minigun:
Hardcore handle:
    4 Handles surrounding a diamond.

    Rotating Barrel:
An iron block in each corner, gold forming the rest.

    Ammo Container:
Obsidian forming a "U" shape, Iron ingots in the remaining two slots.

    Ammo strip:
3 leather, gold on left side, heavy bullets on other.

Minigun is shapeless mush of all of these. Infinite durability.

    Heavy Bullet!

3 blaze powder in the top right corner,
Smooth stone in middle, and the lower right,
    Coal/charcoal for the rest.
    Crafts one Heavy Bullet.

What? The bullets are RENEWABLE?! Yes. Have fun! ;)

Bullets are rapid fired, deal 2 hearts each. Damaging? You bet. Fired rapidly by right click.
When holding the minigun, speed is reduced to .2, and the camera is always on smooth angling. (annoying, hard to aim, heavy, but when you hit, it's pretty much over.) Dissapates after 48 blocks, should have some degree of random scatter.
    No gravity!
The Hardcore Sandvich.

    :Pig: (Expensively Renewable, excluding Buckets.)
The Sandvich is mightier than a golden apple.
Crafted with 6 Mighty Bread, Two Mighty Meat, and Mighty Cheese
    Mighty bread:
It's a hardcore 8 bread surrounding an eye of ender per mighty bread.

For the mighty meat, you need chikhen (raw chicken), Khow Meet (raw beef), and Porqck. (raw too)
Shapelessly place raw beef, chicken, pork, rotten flesh, a bone, enderpearl, slimeball, gunpowder, and ghast tear in table. Obtain mighty meat.

    Mighty Cheese:
9 Bhukkets of Melk. You do get the buckets back.

For the Sandvich? Mighty bread on top and bottom, Mighty meat on the sides, and mighty cheese in the middle.

If possible, takes a lot longer to eat. Instantheal. Cannot be damaged for 5 seconds. Full Hunger bar.

The Engineer
Since the sentries and teleporters are taken...
Add a dispenser! (Called TF2 Dispenser)
Display:
8 glass, one redstone in the middle.

    Compartment: (shapeless)
Both kinds of mushrooms, cooked pork, chicken, and steak, splash potion of healing, cake, apple, and fish.

    Mechanisim:
    Iron blocks surrounding a diamond.

The TF2 Dispenser heals a heart every few seconds. Has HP, a decent 7 hearts.

Smashing it with a wrench (left clicking) a few times would upgrade it, a few more times would make the TF2 Dispenser level 3.
Level 1: Sorta like peaceful, a half heart every so often.
Level 2: A heart every few seconds
Level 3: A heart every second.

Dispensers could maybe have the ability to randomly drop ammo... though that would be hard to code.
Hmm... What about the nice old wrench?
Needs one grip, and 2 reclaimed metal.

Reclaimed metal is an iron block, surrounded by iron ingots. (total of 17!)

Just place the grip and reclaimed metal like a sword. Can restock/repair dispensors on hit , has durability of 2x diamond, and deals a healthy 1.5 hearts of damage. (Does not lose durability when hitting)

If possible, please to can has sentries and teleporters? :D

Finally, Support!
Medic
Medigun
Handle + Tube + Healing device.

    ----

    ----

Healing Device is redstone in the shape of a plus, and Cake in the corners.
Shapelessly craft them into a Medigun!

Right clicking will heal anything it is pointed at by one half heart per second. Does not heal you. Does not heal hunger. (Like ender crystal beam style.) Probably only useful for PVP. As you gradually heal more an more hearts, you should see a gauge filling up. When you heal 100 hearts, UBERCHARGE!
Adds a passive regeneration of 1/2 heart per 2 seconds. Range of 8.

Pretty much god mode for a few seconds for you and whoever you are healing.
Ubersaw
Handle + Healing Device + MediBlade (in that order, bottom to top like a sword.

    ----

    ----

Mediblade is cake on the bottom, red and brown mushroom on either side, redstone in middle, Diamond on either side of the redstone, and the top is iron ingot. (so expensive! :P )

    Durability of 2x Diamond.

On hit, deals 1 heart damage.

If you kill a Creeper, Enderman, Blaze, Zombie Pigman or Ghast with this weapon, charge up your Ubercharge!
    Have fun!!!

Sniper
A sniper needs his sniper rifle!
A handle, a scope, a lense, and a tube.

    ----

    Scope:
    Obsidian in a plus.

    Lense:
    Glass x 9.

Place them all into a sniper rifle! :D

Infinite durability, 100% accurate(no spread), Has to be 'charged' (no quick scoping allowed!) to fire. Charge takes longer than a bow. The FOV should be completely zoomed in, and like water, should zoom the FOV in further. Also, should have a black tinting instead of blue/red. Smooth angling. IDK if you can do hitboxes, but that'd be great if possible. If not, then just: If you snipe a mob, instant 15 damage dealt. No gravity. Range of 100 blocks.
Adds a little 'charge' on your HUD, with 5 little bars. For every bar, 2 more hearts of damage are added. Starts charging after fully zoomed.

Sniper Rifle Shots deal a damaging 5 hearts uncharged, 15 full charged.

Blaze rod in a right side up T, with coal in the remaining spaces.
    Renewable!
Has to be fully zoomed to shoot.
Kukri!
It's a survival knife. The sniper is from australia...

Durability of between diamond and iron!
    Steady 2 hearts of damage!
Destroys leaves wool, dirt, and wood quickly!
Right click can hoe the ground! Great for survival!
Jarate!
Hmm... Jarate is like a Splash potion. Combine a water bottle with yellow dye and a bucket of milk!
When thrown: If it hits any passive mob or yourself, (or friendly player on SMP) They will be doused, maybe have a slight damage boost (if player or yourself). If thrown at an enemy/hostile/neutral mob, they take more damage from incoming sources by 3 damage (1.5) hearts. Use once!

Spy
Oh yes, now we get to have fun with the Spy Knife!
Handle + 2 knife blades
    Craft like a diagonal sword.

The spy knife would have a durability of between stone and iron.

If you are in a 45 degree radius behind the mob,20 hearts of backstabbing-ness will be added on to your damage output.
Your normal damage output is so weak, rainbows would really make you cry.
Cloak and Dagger. See the Two-in-One.
Clock (normal minecraft clock) + 3 leather + Light Device...

    Light device:
Diamond, gold, redstone, Glass, Glowstone, iron, lapis lazuli. Shapeless. It's made of shiny stuffs.

With the Cloak and Dagger, you can right click and mobs will not see you (like they don't see NPCs) for some time. You must be holding the cloak and dagger during this time to be cloaked. You will have twice the speed, and punches will drain the cloak immediately. The cloak will decrease onscreen... It will recharge VERY slowly if you are uncloaked and moving. If you are not moving, the cloak will not increase/decrease.

You will become uncloaked when in water, taking damage, picking up/destroying blocks, bumping into mobs.

Let's say that there are 100 little 'points' the cloak bar.

    if(player.getSpeed() == 0 && player.isCloaked) //if the player is not moving or cloaked
    {
cloakHUD.drain(0); // pauses HUD, this is all theoretical.
    }
    else cloakHUD.drain(2); //(drains average 2 per second.)

    else if(!player.isCloaked && !player.isCloaked)
    {
    cloakHUD.charge(1) //gains 1 per second.
    }

    Disguise Kit! See the Two-in-One"
When right clicked, you can are disguised.

The HUD will indicate you are disguised... somehow.

With this disguise, you cannot be seen by any TF2 mobs (except the pyro), and you can safely look at endermen.
Until you become TOO close. (5 blocks, which is about your punch distance.)

Until you punch something, you're disguised. If you are damaged, the disguise wears off. If you touch a mob or destroy/pick up a block, you are undisguised.

    What's the point of this?
In conjunction WITH the cloak, you can sneak up to both TF2 AND Vanilla Mobs, then backstab them.
    You are safe against Pyros...
Two-in-one:
If you craft the Cloak + Disguise Kit, you get the CDDK (Cloak and Dagger and Disguise Kit; Very original name.)

When right clicked, you are disguised. Vanilla and TF2 mobs won't care about you until you are too close (5 blocks or so?). If you press "R" (configurable), you will be cloaked. When you are cloaked, NO mobs can see you at all. The cloak will drain as usual.

Without the disguise, your cloak would drain pretty fast. And if you touched water, you cloak would deactivate. Your disguise will keep you safely hidden in water (to mobs) and lets you preserve your cloak.

You cannot do anything when decloaking. You must wait for <= a second.

To use the knife, you have to switch to it. This is to prevent spy from being too OP.

This is mainly for convenience, nobody likes fiddling with their hotbar.

Combine a Minigun, Shotgun, Sandvich and red dye to form the Heavy Token! Halved Movement speed, tanked HP/resistance.

Combine a Medigun, a Crusader's Crossbow, an Ubersaw, and red dye to form the Medic Token! Causes small regen about 1/2 as fast as a full foodbar, but active as long as you equip the token.

That's all I have so far...
Block(s):
Decorative blocks!
They are to be added soon, for your own TF2 Maps :)
TF2 Banner!
Two blocks tall, 1 block wide.

If you craft a minigun, rocket launcher, flamethrower, sandman, grenade launcher, wrench, sniper rifle, Medigun, and a Spy Knife into a block of awesomeness:, you get the essence of TF2. (Ouch, mucho expensive!!)

Craft essence of TF2 with lapis lazuli in the corners, (blue dye) a string on top, and wool for the rest, you get a TF2 Banner!

The TF2 Banner, when placed, will cause mobs to spawn on different blocks in an 63x63x3 area if the player is within 3 blocks of the banner.

Craft the following blocks with Lapis lazuli dye for a square...

This would yield a Pyro square.

    The Cloak Gauge
    The Sniper Charge

Please Read!

I'm trying to get a few items each class.

    Any suggestions?

I don't want this mod to be overly huge that it alters terrain generation and etc.

This is my first post in the Mod Request section... If I need to change, add, or reformat something, I will...

I am available 5-7 and 8-10 on weekdays. PM me.

    Last Edit: Feb 21 2012

    The Future
Well... A few people have been requesting SMP pluggins stuff.
For now, I say: People are working on it! It's not even half of an SSP Mod yet. Patience, give the coder and texture persons a break :P

Though if this mod ever did get completely done for SSP...
Some ideas for SMP: (don't forget, we need SSP first!)
-Maps! Always needed. All blocks in that area would be edited to have unbreakable stats.
-Players are seperated into two teams, red or blue (duh?)
-Names are removed. (the things that hover over your skin)
If you're a spy, you can press a key like "k" to change your skin to any of the TF2 skins.
-Spawn is set to a spawn room, with a 'resupply area' (Like a diamond block surrounded by obsidian) that gives you
-There is an area before the spawn area, if players want to join that team, they step through, and if they exit, they are removed from the team.
-In that area, you can choose your class (Step on certain block, become certain class)
Keep in mind that this is just wishful thinking for now.
There will probably be two downloads. A smaller download and a larger one, for SSP only and for SSP+SMP respectively.
To those of you asking: When is this mod going to be SMP? I repeat: This mod is still working on its .05 stage, so just sit tight!

If you like the idea of this mod, show support by posting, or contacting coders and texture persons.
Keep reviewing this thread! More will be added.

    Not a modder or texturer?
Neither am I. If you want to support this, Reply, bump, contact people, +1 to the coders, anything. :)
If you're a guest reading this, contact any modders/texturers you know? :)

    HATS.
If the community wants to start a hat list here, then so be it. But we'd need modelers, a way to extend the player "Application-Programming-Interface" (That's API for non java peeps), and texturers hardcore. If you REALLY just NEED a hat, send me a modeled hat with texture, crafting recipe, and I'll save it until hats are coded :)

posted a message on The "survival" part of the game is bad on a fundamental level.
    <sigh>
Minecraft has a great community filled with productive people, we just also happen to have a fair amount of immature ones as well. It's just that, we're a big community. We got modders and textures, people who try to help by posting suggestions in the minecraft development subforum, and the people who give it publicity from social networking and some youtube channels. Sure, average derps exist, but hey, you can't do anything.

    About making the game:
Money. That goes in. What the Majority (with a capital M) of the community wants. That's another factor. The last one is what the game developers want. Maybe they themselves have your ideas, maybe not. Point is, without that stress, you can shoot out ideas, I can throw some into the fray, he can suggest, she can support, we can say whatever. But they're busy, you should appreciate more.

About "this thread will never get to Mojang"
If you felt so passionate, go ahead and contact them if you truly think they will be successful. If cesspool type forums aren't your thing, don't throw anything into it... There's no need to set it on fire either.

About disagreeing with you and reagreeing with you:
I said slowly does it. Minecraft is improving week by week with new patches, I didn't ever say I disagreed with completely everything, I said you have to be patient.

Of course there's transformers, but realize the a statue is never erected for a critic.

Forcing: I mean it in a way that you're trying to get people to 'open their eyes' But you suggest ideas that once again, are disputed.

    Your username is quite truthful.

    But you want discussion.
Combat: I know there's an enderdragon. I agree with the lack of armor tiers. But you don't need twenty two different maces, axes, hammers, or crossbows to kill something in an extremely exquisite fashion. Also, another reason why minecraft isn't combat based is because of decoration/architecture, and redstone. Sure, it's fun to kill, but killing is killing, not everyone does survival to kill.
My suggestion is that yes, more tiers are good... more weapons, eh. High mob range? CPU usage would increase substantially, and then there's the problem of mobs attacking you from out of your render distance (Blazes and Ghasts)
Creepers can spawn above ground too, that's ok.

About Player abilities: You cut out the part of "slowly does it."

About Biomes: The reason I say make your own is because as of now, a lot of people support it. Sure people like it, sure some dislike it. If it's changed, the community will still hate/love it in the approximately same ratio. There's not much you can do about it, other than a checklist for deciding what's generated and what's not.
Also, you seem to be violence-loving in games (not a bad quality at all); But all biomes have unique blocks for you to build with. Sure, maybe different mobs per biome, or different types of structures per biome could be improved upon, but here again: slowly does it.

Mobs in general: Slimes above ground? The horror of slimeballs found in pools everywhere, coupled with their 8 chunk sight and noise would be bad. Prefix mobs were planned, not there yet. Light level 4? That's very extreme. Night would be terrible above ground (due to mobs spawning near you), day terrible underground(only dark places left). Creepers: how can you check "underground?" An if-statement checking below y=64 is not perfect, you can build your house 3 blocks above sea and be fine. Mob buffs. That's being added onto (said a few paragraphs up) as AI gets more complex. Having just stronger mobs? Nobody wants to smack a skellington 600 times with Sharpness V only to find it can regenerate HP.

For the wiki: Nobody does force you to shoot. Nobody forces you to do the wiki, nobody forces anything at all... But when you first start out for the very first time, and you get a book that shows how to craft all the things, what happens when it's lost? Or you can press like "c" for crafting recipes, but there comes the problem of not knowing what each block does. And maybe you don't know exactly what cauldrons do. And suddenly, tutorials are needed for every last detail to a new beginner.
I think that maybe a recipe book may be ok, but is a lot of hassle. Crafting bench II is something I'd like to see implemented.

I know you say that your ideas aren't the best and we should all listen to you, but hey: a bit down with the attitude.
You may be that radical, but you'd be much, much more geared to success if you had a kinder type style and stayed off task (you can call me a hurr durr for that last line, but I already did)

    Conclusion:
I was wrong in my post, I didn't think everything through, and I didn't back up my suggestions.
    But:
You say minecraft can be better.
I say the world can be better.
I say life could be better.
You say that minecraft can be changed, the others, eh, not so much.
I say: Games are a place you may go to for escape, but in the end, it's just a game. (thank you vsgamerz) You can't expect it to be perfect, and in the end, when you have all, some, or none, you'll still want more.

posted a message on The "survival" part of the game is bad on a fundamental level.
My two cents, as I gave most people who try to flame.

First off, on your comment about the community. You sir, are a hypocrite.

Second, about mobs: If you lack the willpower to keep the difficulty off of hard, that is your own fault.

Third point, your 'fixes' are being added onto. Once upon a time, skeletons walked off cliffs, zombies derped in the sunlight, and enderman had no sense of projectile or water-awareness. They get smarter per update, no?
    Or are you just impatient?

Fourth. Lack of equipment: try MCMMO if you want an RPG. Try installingmods.
    Or, try making minecraft yourself.
EDIT: Yes, I said the above. What's to stop me, a reply from you? Why I say that is because you simply do not appreciate the gradual change of updates.

Next, Lack of player abilities. Same things as mob AI, I don't remember sprinting in 1.7.3, brewing, enchanting.
Smart movement is a good option, but once again, slowly does it.

    Biomes and Terrain:
Haven't you noticed that minecraft is made of blocks. There are only so many ways you can but so many blocks. Do you want more biomes? You could try making your own by placing down blocks. Installing mods works too. Or being patient and waiting for the next update.

    The Minecraft Wiki:
... Nobody forced you to look up how to craft anything...
And, how much time do you not have to alt-tab out of minecraft?

Again, you post how to fix things, you complain like Jeb is your outlet, and you are one of the persons who makes the MCForums what they are.

Next, as soon as your hypothetical fixes enter the game (if they ever did), you'd find many more problems with them, it's just how games work.

Finally, your first lines of "If you don't like it, don't play it." Don't post that, because I know how hard it is to make a game.
--->If you don't like it, don't post it.

Conclusion: You do have good ideas on occasion. However, human psychology enjoys reward rather than negativity.
If you had made a post about some suggestions on a different subforum, and it wasn't focused on attacking rather than improving, people would probably enjoy the community more.

PS: the developers of minercraft would probably never read this post, or your Original Post, you have wasted almost everyone's time.

    Cave spiders, enderdragons, BLAZESSS.

Creepers are only bad when I'm severely lagging, but I have full iron armor mostly, so I live :tongue.gif:
Endermen are easy outdoors, I live in the taiga, I punch them from the cover of a 2 block height of leaf cover.
    Zombies are easy.
Pig Zombies are easy to murder, you run faster than them, and they tend to line up.
Spiders are like zombies but they actually are accurate.
    Silverfish are too short.

Cave Spider poison is frightening. I play on Hardcore, I shirk at them.
I have lost 2 great hardcore worlds to blazes. In my newest one, imma build a farm and murder them for their rods.
    Enderdragons? D:
