Add more of the same liquid until it is full and let it cool off to get a removable block, which you can smelt again.

I think he means tanks from other mods. What you're thinking of is the casting basin.

If I recall, one solution would be to run a pipe from the tank to a smeltery drain without a faucet.

I just realized, but how do you use those extra squares on the tool station/forge for items with less than four parts?

He/she said he/she can ONLY make ingot casts.

He gave the answer to the question. As of the latest version of Tinker's Construct, ingot casts are made by placing an ingot on the casting table and pouring gold/aluminum brass over it. Before the recent version, the pattern table would only make ingot casts from blank casts.

Those are nice but thy don`t tell me what each tool part does.
Such as what should I make my arrow heads out of, I would be able to tell in this book.

I can understand the arrow thing, as mDiyo is still in the process of fully updating the books. However, I'm not entirely sure what you mean with the rest of your post. Are you talking about how the part materials affect the tools? That much is mentioned in the books: different handle materials affect how much total durability the tool has, and combining parts of different materials will give you more than one feature (such as putting a Cactus axe head with an Iron rod to get both the Spiny and Reinforced feature).

The first post hast the info you seek, but allow me to explain. What you want to do is take either a wooden stencil or tool part and place it on the casting table. Then pour out your smelted gold/aluminum brass and it will cast to the shape of the stencil/part. The table will only turn blank casts into ingot casts.

    Time for a mod-nob question ;)

    Using dev12.

I cannot craft a pickaxe of metal (Bronze in this case)
I have crafted with stone without a problem.
I have created casts and managed to get all needed parts.
But when I place them in the tool station nothing happens, I tried both the tire 1 and tire 2 stations.

Known bug I guess or have I missed something (again)?

    Did you smelt the bronze?

So I've been exploring that issue I had earlier with the ingot casts. It would seem that casts made with aluminum brass can still be turned into ingot casts, but ones made with gold cannot. For those who don't understand, let me elaborate. While both casts are seemingly similar, they both have separate damage values attached to their ids. On my setup, blank casts from aluminum brass are 14275:1, and casts from gold are 14275:2. This has been tested with both dev 7 and dev 10.

Still not sure if this is intended or not, but we shall see soon.

Several trolls in this thread are learning the hard way that population behavior doesn't change by decree.

Have you ever pushed on a business door and discovered it's a pull door? It's funny once or twice. But have you ever repeatedly pushed on THE SAME DOOR when it's a pull door? Why? Is it cause "you stupid"? No, it's because almost all doors operate in a way that people become accustomed to over their entire lives. A very few doors are placed backwards, and throw you off.

    Design and behavior patterns.

I dunno, I'm a bit on-the-fence about this whole "intuitive/unintuitive" debate. Also, I can't tell if you're criticizing me or not. Again, you could still make ingot casts on the table after mDiyo changed it, but you were limited to just that. I'm thinking that the latest dev (7/10) may have broke that feature, because now I can't do it in previous dev versions either.

    3. You can't make them like that anymore. Look at the OP or in the f***ing book you got or even read this this page or the last one!!!

...the heck are you talking about? Even with that change, you could still make ingot casts on the table. Unless that was unintended.

    1. Does a smelter need to be made strictly with seared bricks, or is it possible to use the variants? (chiseled, cracked, etc.)
    2. How does one go about making a jewel cast? I wanted to make use of the new molten emerald, but I can't get it to pour out. I looked through the items and assumed I'd obviously need a jewel cast, but there's no stencil for it, and I can't smelt gold/brass around an emerald.
    3. I can't seem to make the ingot casts on the stencil table anymore. Was this changed in dev 10, and how do I go about making them if so?

i was thinking the same. the design looks pretty slick. its 2 smelteries, next to each other with a few extra bricks. so i see no reason, why it shouldnt work. also, the 2 smeltery controllers are lit up, which is a good indication, that theyre working^^.

Totally missed the second controller. I had assumed it was just one big smeltery.
