I thought 1.8 is gonna be Thaumcraft 5?

Read it like this: "Thaumcraft has never worked for 1.8.8. The 1.8 version of Thaumcraft (5) is still in development, with a release date of "whenever it's finished."

I believe that is what they meant.

    in what percentage this dragon fire? 90% ? ;-;
and I read the questions, I saw that one response was that when the fire dragon is ready, you will work on other creatures, I think I've done this, because you have already created those fairies, those horses!

I apologize for my bad english!

Those are just models with nice textures making them very presentable. Coding and implementing them into the game is a whole other task. In other words the concepts shown are just pictures.

The worm in the video is already in 3 dimensions.

I was on a time crunch and pulled a classic comment-without-actually-watching-the-video as for the clear wording on the thumbnail... I have no excuse for that.

Having now watched the video I shall go crawl into a corner and slowly wither away.

it would be cool if stymphalian birds were added. The Stymphalian Birds are man-eating birds with beaks of bronze, sharp metallic feathers they could launch at their victims, and poisonous dung

I'm not actually familiar with this (which isn't much of a surprise). They sound very promising. Especially in the way of murdering me.

what about adding hydra ? (i know that it's a serpent and one already exists in twilight forest, but hey, you may be able to do better)

It would be interesting to see a fire mechanic having to play in to prevent the growing of more heads and even having acidic blood spray out when decapitated (was it their blood or breath that was poisonous? I think it's both). That way it wouldn't be a, "oh I came across a hydra lets kill it," but a, "I'm not prepared I shall run for my life." This could be a good way to get poisonous arrows before 1.9 if you ask me.

EDIT: I meant the glint/sword command.

Ah, I didn't spawn it in with conventional means. I used a mod known as "NBT edit which allowed me to modify nbt data in-game, so there is no command as such. :/ Sorry!

awesome idea man. i think it would be cool if you put your pet's soul when they die inside of the tool and that would give special abilities like if you put a fire dragon's soul in it you can shoot fire balls, etc.

Souls! Of course! That would be pretty useful (what? I never said my minecraft pets always die... ;~;) and very cool at that. I can already see myself with the soul of an ocelot: scare away those pesky creepers eh? Though maybe the pets must live for a certain time to become a soul so people don't go mass murdering their pets! Or if they do the souls would ascend or it only be a chance... or even if they did manage to get them into an object they would be very difficult to manage. Very great idea though! It would be cool to see someone releasing the soul of their pet dragon in a fight and catch everyone off guard.

Oh. My god. I actually have a character like this, his name is Dark (but spelled in Japanese so it isn't boring) and he's a magic sword who can talk to his owner and even manifest in a physical form. I, personally, mostly because of how strangely familiar the concept is, fully support the idea of a mod that adds this sort of thing to the game. :D

Cool, glad to see this idea is familiar to someone!

    HECK YES FULL SUPPORT

However, this idea can be expanded on. For instance, what if the sword could be inhabited by different types of spirits, or if lucky: MULTIPLE at once, with cumulative effects. Glint color is chosen by the majority of spirits in the sword. If its a tie, then rainbow glint color. Here are some ideas:

Also, you probably can make glint. Tell me your command and I'll recite everything you need to code in.

Yeah I was going to expand on the mob part (and still will eventually! Just a lil busy), but these are pretty wonderful ideas. I don't usually dabble with specific so I can't judge that. As for the multiple spirit part I suppose it could be a thing, however I don't think the spirits would like it and thus make their opinion of you lower (thus harder to manage). Getting just one into an object would be hard enough (these will be late game for sure) so getting more in would be very difficult and have the risk of releasing or even destroying the spirit currently within. Maybe the drawback could be removing the option to release them in combat, so they permanently remain in the object that holds them, who knows.

If you want the command here, but I don't need the code since it's just a suggestion for the devs.

    /tellraw @p {text: "", color: dark_red, extra: [{text:" Release me this instant!", color: red, italic: true}]}

I'll be explaining how to get the spirits into your equipment soon... as soon as I come up with that... xD

Not really an issue, but when I place a carriage lantern on the side of a command block it looks like a torch. Of course using the "select block" (middle click) it says it is in fact a carriage lantern. The dyed ones seems to work fine, it's only the non-dyed one. Thought I'd mention it even if it isn't an issue in survival

    *Hoping formatting doesn't implode*

This is going to be my first "structured" suggestion, and it isn't for any specific creature so to say. So whether or not it would fit in this mod idk, but I wanted to suggest it!

    Disclaimer:

My goal when making a suggestion is coming up with something that sounds cool in theory. In no way am I considering the trouble of coding it and actually bringing it to reality. Also it is important to note that nothing stated is intended to be a "bundle" bits, pieces, and alternatives will most likely be offered. The hope is the ideas will not only be found "interesting" but strike ideas upon others to improve or come up with even better ones.

    Backstory:

After messing with /tellraw, glint.png (enchantment color), and item nbt, I came up with an idea that I found intriguing. An idea that was rough for sure, but I felt it could be smoothed out. You see I was messing with faking chat messages, and I wasn't sure who to fake. So what did I end up deciding on? A sword. I made these chat messages appear as my sword was talking, yes I strange I know (don't judge >.<). Example:

From this I sparked an idea: what if the sword was "possessed" by some sort of spirit, or perhaps trapped instead by the wielder if you will. That brought me to the nbt part. I could easily fake attributes and what not with lore and stuff. Thus this was born:

I wasn't very creative on the specifics of the benefits, so I went with the default of... more damage! As you can see in the orange text, it states that it is "inhabited" that is to say that there is a spirit (or whatever) is in the sword. Of course the idea is no where limited to that, you could give plenty of benefits such as: speed, health, knockback resist etc. It doesn't have to be limited to attributes of course you could new abilities such as "wind gusts" from sword swings or cleaves... it doesn't really matter specifics are not my thing!

Also because I didn't want the basic enchant glint I gave it a red one (color doesn't really matter, just wanted more of a visual). Though I've got no idea if that's possible in the modding field.

    The Idea:

I want some sort of mob such as a spirit or a wisp that can be trapped inside of one's equipment (whether by choice or force). I was leaning more towards a "wisp type thing" because they're less human (or are they? I didn't do my research... xD). While inside the equipment they can grant benefits and/or disadvantages depending on their "personality". (Ex. an angry one could grant more damage at the cost of dealing some damage to yourself. Or an unhappy one might try and "hop" out of your inventory when you weren't even looking) Additionally, depending on your "relationship" with these entities you could choose to release them to fight in their "physical" form (they are ghostly...). Of course, if you badly treat them or they simply hate you it isn't recommended to let them out. For they could not only run away but also turn on you when you need their assistance most.

Personality Examples (no where near set in stone):

Loyal - The most ideal "well-rounded" one. So long as you respect them and treat it well they will return if released without trouble.

Mischievous - They have no wish of getting you killed, but harming you isn't out of the question. If released they will attempt to play childish games of "hide and seek" or "tag", causing you to waste ample amounts of time retrieving them.

Defiant - They want to be free, as simple as that. These ones will cause you plenty of trouble.

Tricksters - They will act compliant, but upon releasing them they will bolt away.

ETC. I could spend hours with examples.

NOTE: They are not necessarily limited to a single personality!

They can speak to the player when certain criteria is met (this acts as a private message).

    As non-trapped mobs...
I'll expand on this idea later, my eyes are tired and the forums formatting is getting very annoying. I know it's not professional! But I'm a pro-fashional not a professional. ;3

I'd love to see some "dynamic" nymphs (dryads, naiads, nereids, oceanids, oreads, limoniads, limniads, meliads, epimeliads, napaeas or whatever other million names there are for variations). Like dryads that are "linked" to trees is what I mean, something like that.

Brief (and probably not super accurate) classifications:

    Dryads (forests)
    Naiads (springs and rivers (wells?))
    Nereids (the sea)
    Oceanids (the sea)
    Oreads (mountains)
    Limoniads (meadows)
    Limniads (lakes, marshes and swamps)...?
    Meliads (ash-trees)
    Epimeliads (protectors of sheep/apple trees?)
    Napaea/Nephaeae (valleys and glens)
