I'm definitely looking at his ideas for next release. :)

    [size=medium]

No idea. I think the package location for ResourceLocation changed, so no guarantees. It's worth trying though.

EDIT: Also, as players, what do you think of the Alkahestry system? How can it be improved?
You know how more mods are now having you do things in-world? What if Alkahestry worked in-world as well, like use the Tome on a block or entity and it draws the necessary ingredients from your inventory to perform the lowest-value transformation.

What other blocks besides plants rely on tick updates to accomplish some function? It would be interesting to test the watering can on them. Or the lily pad, for that matter.

XyCraft's Xychorium Soil block (Soaryn's been working on a 1.6.x update for the mod) updates all the Xychorium Soil blocks above, or the one block on top of it (like a plant), it every time it updates in a world tick. This can cause plants to grow PDQ if growing on a stack of them. I'll bet a watering can and magic lily pad would do some incredible things combined with those. Don't Natura redwoods require a 7x7 group of saplings and something like an in-game month to grow...?

Your Mod Spotlight on the New Soul Shards 2...that's NOT cool. Will mean a lot of extra work and lost time acquiring all those kills for the old shards. Not cool at all.
That's an investment fallacy, unfortunately. If you want to play with the new version of the mod, you'll just have to do it the new way. Even if the old way was better in terms of output (if not the investment).

I have some suggestions for camping mod v2

    1) Remove the independent camping inventory and camping tool bench screens and just use the unified one (the one that activates with the 'f' key)
    2) Camping tool v1 when used as an item opens crafting table interface, but only camping tool v2 can be permanently placed in camping tool v2 slot.
    3) Big tents that that allow placement of 2 chests, 2 sleeping bags or a chest and sleeping bag. Maybe crafted by combining 2 regular tents with a camping tool.
    4) Some way to sit on logs or a way to turn a normal log into a sittable log (like maybe log+camper tool), maybe sitting on logs near an active campfire for x amount of time will grant low-intensity but kind of long duration (e.g. 2 minute) buff like swiftness I or sitting on a log near a campfire gives regen I for the duration that you sit on the log.
    5) Normal campfires require 3 cobblestone, 3 sticks, 3 logs and cook for free but the speed is only 1/4 of the normal cooking speed and it can only cook food (but maybe only if you can find a way to allow it to cook food added by other mods as part of a forge thingy).
    6) Dismantling normal campfires gives sticks and possibly charcoal.
    7) Maybe add an option in the cfg to give players a free tent and sleeping bag so they can easily set up camp on the first night of survival.

Actually, I'd look into how Tinkers' Construct handles loot drops from its knapsack. TC adds its own tabs to the inventory screen, and there seem to be no duplication issues with it.

posted a message on Saturday with Sach: My First Night
My first night in Minecraft proper (as opposed to creative-only Minecraft Classic), I did exactly what I knew I should do, and found a nice hill so I could see all around me. This was in Alpha, where worldgen was still mostly smooth and round, with occasional crazy sky islands and stuff. I managed to get just enough dirt to build a 3x3x3 dirt cube with a window, but a skeleton started shooting in, so I just blocked that up and opened the ceiling. Watching night pass gets very boring when you don't have anything to do. I tried figuring out how to craft stuff, and spent many nights crafting because there weren't any beds. When beds were added, often I had no sheep.

For a while, I would just delete a world when I died, even if I wasn't in hardcore mode. I played on Easy and even Peaceful for months, but Normal was (and is even now) easier for me thanks to changes in mob behavior and how combat works. Plus when mobs are around you can get stuff like bonemeal, even if you never starve to death in Peaceful mode.

But for the longest time, I'd just do what I did that very first night: Find a good hill where I could see all around, and build a dirt house on top, slowly replacing it with wood or cobble as I mined my way through the world.

I just started a Hardcore world last night, with tons of mods in. We'll see if I manage to get The End. If not, I guess I'll just restart and try again.

One important suggestion I wold have for this is to make the hud very very configurable. Cause with so many mods adding Huds the screen is running out of space. So it has to be more configurable than just the 4 corners. I would like to strongly suggest talking to Mithion about using the code for his Ars Magica 2 hud. As it can be arranged however the player likes with but a command. Or making something similar.
Another mod with adjustable HUD is Damage Indicators, which I've found I love too much to part with. I keep adding it to other modpacks.

i think you misunderstood what cupcake cat was asking... you posted that "Morvelaira takes screen-shots" implying that you have seen them... cupcake then asked you where they were posted so they could look at them too, and rather than saying what site you saw them at, you blow them off by telling them where to look for screen-shots from their OWN world, and then effectively just saying "google it yourself"... kinda rude, dude. i' mean if you haven't seen the shots Cupcake was specifically asking about (Morvelaira's builds) then say so, and THEN say to google it... it comes across much more politely that way.

PS. @Cupcake, i haven't seen any screen-shots from her either but her builds are pretty good from what little is shown on DW20's LP's when he visits her place.
I wasn't being rude. I was implying, however, that her screenshots aren't available to be seen.

Morvelaira streams on Twitch now and then. She never shows viewers her screenshots because we just saw her build that stuff, just like Dire doesn't show himself screenshotting coordinates (because he never uses the waypoint ability that minimap mods have). But she has them on her computer as a reference for building stuff in-game in a live world instead of just in her test world.

So no, you can't find Morvy's screenshots as a reference for your own work because they don't leave her computer. That's why I suggested making your own.

    Is that clearer?

Where could I find these screenshots?
    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Screenshots
Or, you know, you could use a search engine to look for minecraft builds, some of which will be screenshots posted on image hosts, and some of which will be videos on places like YouTube.

I wish I could have the planes for the workshop, man that looks cool.
Morvelaira builds in a test world and takes screenshots. And a lot of people build from screenshots of things others have built. You could try that and see if your workshop ends up looking similar.

And then someday as you practice building neat things, you can try making your own neat stuff. Some people just put together interesting shapes until their build looks nice, others try to make mirrored patterns, some use graph paper, some always make a test build, many just wing it. You'll find your own style eventually.

And will they still be available for old versions of Minecraft?

F'ing seriously. 1.6.2 is not 1.5.2. Learn to read crash reports if you can't read forum posts.

    Second line of the OP:

Everyone's always asking, so I'm posting it here. This mod works for both 1.5.1 and 1.5.2.

So no, it's NOT 1.6 YET. Be patient. It will come.

No mod changes...this happened while I was still in the game. I have checked things out a little more since my last post. This is happening with all the different types of gates, and is not limited to the middle gate of the setup. Any time a gate is outputting a colored wire signal it also outputs a redstone signal even if that option isnt selected. I cant think of anything that would cause the behavior of the signals to change mid-game. Have tried rebooting minecraft, that is not a fix.
The best suggestion I have is to try updating Forge and/or Buildcraft. Sorry.
