posted a message on So what do you guys think about the new 1.14 textures?

I don't like them at all. I "grew up" with the old textures and they are very iconic to most people. Being only 16x resolution, another thing I prefer about them is how "crisp" they look compared to the newer ones which just feel soft and plastic-y. I would much rather prefer that they just make some small improvements to the current textures rather than create entirely new ones.

posted a message on Anyone else agree that Minecraft needs more realism, and less fantasy?

I agree to a certain extent, but at the same time I do enjoy the "fantasy" aspects of the game. I would still prefer more ores and stuff like that, though.

posted a message on combat in 1.9 good or bad?
    Quote from rabidgoodra27»

Part of me can't believe this thread is still kicking.

The other half of me is not surprised.

The best thing I can think of to do about 1.9 combat is not to remove it like many say, but to have a "Combat Update 2" which would add some things desirable for PvP, which would make servers want the new things and at least try out the new combat system. But that's never going to happen.

I personally think a gamerule to revert to the old system would be better (heck, the community has been asking for one for over a year) because that way the big servers would be able to fully update without loosing their entire playerbase.

The majority are running on 1.8/1.7 because they falsely believe that 1.9 is bad, or there are benefits like mods that they wish to hold onto. Just because the majority believe something does not make it correct.

Falsely? People have reasons other than that "they just cant stand change". I still think 1.9 is bad because of the slowed down combat (and don't try telling me that 1.8 required no skill and is stupid) as well as the fact that combos are gone (but then again, that could be a good thing depending on how you look at it) and all that other stuff. This is the same reason the largest servers in the world (mineplex, Hypixel, etc) still haven't updated, because 98% of their playerbase prefers the 1.8 style combat.

I still don't understand why they can't just add a gamerule to revert to 1.8 combat. Literally every single problem would be solved, and nobody would be forcing each other to use one or the other.

posted a message on YASR (Yet Another Sunperp Rule) # 356: No conversations about the future
    Quote from BigGrayGolem»

So, just now Sunperp has issued a "warning" against me, inventing yet another rule that doesn't exist. In a thread where someone was claiming his single player game was being hacked and intruded upon by "forge devs," and in which the poster was insulting everyone left and right, it was clear the thread was a trolling thread. AFTER the thread was flagged for insult, *I* received a warning for suggesting it was the thread was an attempt at trolling. I never called the OP a "troll," mind you. Nevertheless, sunperp issued a warning against me, then pointed to the rules, none of which say anything about warning other people about trolling. He invented yet another rule, out of thin air, that suggesting a thread is trolling is thus an insult against the person an an implied namecalling, even if no names were called.

It's astounding. This is clearly a guy who is now following around people who call out his bad moderation, and abusing his authority.

I normally would stay out of stuff like this, but sometimes it seems I am being "followed" too. It seems like I am always being told off all the time for the same reason. "off topic posting". It isn't the same as insulting, but my most recent one came from when I posted in another one of those "Minecraft is dying" threads, I said that it would be nice if a rule was put on threads that said Minecraft is dying, and next thing I know get yet another warning for "off topic posting". Now, I could understand this, but I see other users making posts like this all the time and they never get punished, so yes I do suspect that certain users are being followed.

Sorry that you like living in the past, but we have to move forward to progress.
And keep supporting a version of Windows that's 10 years old is just ridiculous. Things change, accept it.

The thing is, if you PAY for Minecraft you should be able to use it no matter what. If it was free, that would be different. So what if someone still uses XP or Vista? Not everyone has $100 to upgrade to windows 10. (myself included)

posted a message on Ban Adfly links

Yes, a small bump I know, but something needs to be done about this. I have NEVER had an adfly page not try to trick me into downloading malware or calling fake tech support. Here is an example. What's funny is that I wasn't even on windows. But yes, something needs to be done about this. Adfly is nothing but a cesspool of viruses and malware.

posted a message on MineCraft is dying:(

For the millionth time, MINECRAFT. IS. NOT. DYING. Seriously, if I had a penny for every time I saw a thread like this, I would be the new Bill Gates.

Also, adding planets cars and planes is a very stupid idea. Minecraft is not GTA you know.

posted a message on Why I stopped playing Minecraft

I'm eleven years old. Most people tell me they doubt it, considering how I word stuff but I guess writing is one of my better hobbies. As a young kid, of course, I took an interest in Minecraft growing up. I think I was around eight years old when I started playing it. Trust me, things were a lot better then. People will say "You're so young, you barely know anything about the good ages of Minecraft" Well let me tell you, these were the good ages to me. It wasn't about being the best at PVP or combat, and there weren't so many changes that ruined the experience for me. I only wish we could go back to the older times when having some crappy name with "PvP" or "HD" or "MC" at the end rarely existed. Plus, people were nicer to each other, even young kids like me were nicer. And I know that from the beginning some people were still rude, but I really miss when you could go on popular Multiplayer servers without getting screamed at by some kid who barely knows what it means to be kind. Basically, the community is full of toxic little kids who ruin the game for everyone, and the updates aren't getting any better in my opinion. It actually makes me sad, because I had fallen in love with Minecraft. I had posters, lots of merchandise, I had it on all platforms, and I was obsessed with it. And I really do want to get back into Minecraft, but it's so hard.

Finally, someone has the EXACT same opinion I do. I don't have Minecraft merchandise, but I loved the game and it was not until last year I got my own account. (I knew about the game since 2012 and always played the xbox version with friends.) Around the time I got my own account (January 2015) it seems that Minecraft's decline started. I am much older than 11 but feel the same way about the game. Also, it's not just toxic kids who have ruined it. it's anyone who wanted the game to be more challenging and Mojang only listened to them and nobody else. It looks like it will stay this way and only get worse as the game gets farther away from what it was originally about and turns more and more into a hard combat game. I mostly quit after the 1.9 update and seeing how mojang is paying NO attention to anyone but whoever wants the game to have harder combat. The reason this causes "bad" players to join is because about 99% of the new players are kids who want to FIGHT not BUILD and in turn they are in general just meaner.
