hmm I might like this idea, could be great for epic assasinations.
one thing you need to ask/find out is: what's the maximum fall height you can survive with full health, maximum feather-falling and protection enchantments, and resistance?
that right there is important to know in order to determine the maximum possible non suicidal damage.
but what if I jump/fall from Y:256 or even higher? how much damage could I do then?
I think a better way to do this, would be if you hit an enemy while falling just before hitting the ground you transfer the fall damage you WOULD HAVE received to your target.
I never use iron golems because they wander away into random places and become somewhat useless. what if they could be programmed to patrol a route?
So heres how it would work: you place your four iron blocks first, then you place redstone on the ground connecting to the iron blocks, you can make a route path if you have enough redstone. the iron golem follows the redstone path once its created, you can also collect the redstone once the golem is created and it will still continue patroling its route.
heres how you can dispose of items quickly without dragging them out of your inventory. make a redstone pulser, hook it up to dispensor which faces into lava/cactus/fire/void/ or other disposal area. shift click unwanted items into the dispensor when you open it I built one of these on my ender farm to get rid of unwanted pearls
eh, but what If I like making diamond hoes and saying " oh look at me Im rich I can afford to spend diamonds making a diamond hoe even though it doesnt work better"
There are two ways to PvP:
There's a way more related to role playing than anything else. This requires more reliance on the terrain and the arena itself; I.E, hiding behind rocks and other obstacles, ambushes and quick retreats. It's not the best solution and still implies that combat needs some kind of overhaul, though to avoid argument I'm not going to say which, but it certainly works.
...and then there's the second method. Spam attacks. Tanking. It's, the way I see it, the stupid way of fighting. This is why people see so many issues with combat currently. There are issues, but people say it's boring and that's only true because all they're doing is dressing up in diamonds, running towards each other, and spam-clicking until they kill each other, kind of like the OP is doing. It's boring, stupid, and causes problems, but people, the people supporting this thread included, seem to think this is the only way to fight anything.
No, armor does not need to be nerfed. That wont solve any problems, it will only scale down the number of hits it takes to kill someone while you're doing your tanking.
while the first kind is more interesting, but gets overshadowed by the arms race ( getting better equipment than your opponent) the second kind is more powerful and effective.. which is why people do it
I've never been trapped in the nether, ever. as long as you bring flint and steel you're fine. and if you dont want to carry it with you elsewhere in the nether you can leave it in a chest near your portal, which should also be fortified so ghasts cant shoot it.
The armor protections in this game stack way too high.
My suggestion is to cut the max protection on armor in half. I am pretty sure protections stack up to 11 as of now. If that was cut down to 5 or 6 fights would be a lot more reasonable and balanced.
actually, to get full protection you need full protection IV armor, I tested this against a set of 11 (former EPF 25 armor) with drinking instant damage II potions, and the prot IV armor does work better.

Hardest to kill: iron golem. Lot of hp and killing allies is hard for me
