Silly Sacheverell, posting Herobrine stuff! Anyway back to more serious sense, I saw this a while back and wondered why it didn't catch on.

Sep 15, 2014ZaffreAqua posted a message on [Official] Microsoft has Bought Mojang and a message from Notch.I had always thought of Notch as a good guy. He business wise acted like my father, who owns our family business. I had never thought Markus could do such a thing. He was an arrogant fool to do this. More and more indie companies are getting absorbed by money and power hungry billionaires... And the letter he left is rather confusing and infuriating too. I'm glad to at least see people like C418, Searge, Jeb, Dinnerbone, and others to stay at Mojang. What would be most optimistic and best for Mojang is Microsoft is merely there to fund them, and create marketing for them, whilst the Mojangstas keep working on Minecraft, Scrolls, publishing Cobalt, and making new games!Posted in: News

Sep 6, 2014ZaffreAqua posted a message on Minecraft News: 1.8's Release, Bukkit, XBOne, LEGO & MoreI also hope bukkit will be back. I'd also wish they'd fix the severe lag problems in 1.8, but I'll give them time considering they've been working on 1.8 for over 300 days, are putting out other releases for different consoles, and could use a break after developing 1.8 for so long. Other than that, it's an excellent update!Posted in: News

Your case hasn't lined up with any of the issues I've had. I used to run on what is now something close to a 15 year old work laptop running Win XP up to the early days of 1.9. I had lag problems post-1.8 but nowhere near as badly as whatever your machine is. Since my switch to a newer machine and OS both being pigeonholed for supposedly bad performance I notice a stark uptick in performance post-1.8. The chunks-swapping bug is extraordinarily rare at least in my experience, except for back in early 1.3 superflats.
OOC what do you mean we deserve more in terms of the aquatic update? I'm happy it happened at all frankly. I remember wanting fish mobs badly ever since I first joined several years ago. Underground updates are a must-have, and if my memory serves me correct I believe there were some teasers for an update like that a while ago. Hopefully they still keep the general feel of the underground and build/expand upon it as opposed to making it a hassle. Though I suppose that depends on your personal definitions. As a Terraria player I'd be ecstatic to see underground jungles.
The combat system change is perplexing in that they did not provide a gamerule or an option to enable/disable it, especially given that Minecraft is known for being a highly customizable game. Shulker boxes are pretty darned cool IMO. I'm going on half-blind and have hardly done anything with 1.14 so I can't comment on there just yet.
Most certainly not. Microsoft has taken a back seat due to the contract (though I cannot see Mojang on their own adding micro-transactions at their own will). Bug/Performance issues are more up to developer's level of competence as opposed to trying to somehow siphon the greenbacks. And uh, for the record avoid dropping "SJW" out of nowhere, as that will in most places of discussion such as these forums discredit you and your arguments. Though indeed, have a large, strong, dedicated community and they can prove to be more fit and able for the job than the developer's themselves.

Indeed so! ...Save it for Godzilla.

It really gives this thread a new meaning.
Holy smokes, someone else acknowledges the existence of Spacebattles.

I'm readying my popcorn for the last day.
...And of all the times to find out, I learn that stardestroyer.net (yeah, remember it?) has a subforum dedicated to, and I kid you not, "Adult relationships & Sexual education." Not sure whether I should be surprised at that, or the fact that people still use it.

Good luck!
Do it! It may not be much, but you can still carry forth the MC community's ingenuity.

Well, I've been roused from my leave. ...And really? I'm not sure what else to say other than what may bring things a bit off-topic.
From the time of my hiatus things haven't improved as much as I'd like them to have. Despite going to therapy and changing things up, my personal problems have not improved anywhere near as much as I'd like them to have. Progress on projects has gone nowhere relatively speaking. Still haven't done anything worthy of note. Sigh. I suppose there's getting good grades in college, but that's not quite what I had in mind. In terms of enjoying the game... I think I might temporarily enjoy it again as I don't know terribly much on the new updates, and my jaw dropped when I decided to join a friend and I looked into a nearby swamp's lake.
In a way, I'm almost glad that the forums are kicking the bucket. I can leave the wretched shackles of my history behind to rot; forgotten in limbo. An opportunity for a fresh start. Yet I don't think I'm going to go for a new start. I think I'm about done with forums in general I only come on because it feels like I have to, as a way to bid farewell to a source of community productivity in mods, resource packs, maps, shared creations, and challenges. A farewell to part of the community of the game that changed my life. I just... I don't have anything productive to add. It takes me eons to put together just a single *expletive here* paragraph of all things. If I can't do any of those, why bother? With that said, I will not miss the obnoxious perfectionism and salt mining on here. That bull can rot in the pit of Nyiragongo. People cannot decide what they want on here, I swear.I guess that's that. Wish I had something more prepared for the forum's shutdown.
Edit: Forum aren't shutting down after all. Hurrah!0
Call me crazy but for me it's the opposite.

Wuss.
You're far from the only person to feel that. I feel regret. Lots and lots of regret.

Eh, this topic arises every now and then. I mean, from my point of view I definitely think it lost its identity for a while.
That is in no way masked frustration with Mojang trying to fix things that aren't broken whilst leaving things that are broken to rot whilst erasing the remaining character the game had.Over time, something is going to change. It is inevitable. Were it to stay the same it may not have reached the popularity it has today. Though I'm still salty over the new textures and 1.4+ sounds. Nobody asked for them to change a legacy. There have been many improvements throughout the years. Lots of quality of life changes, some performance enhancements, and oh yeah: FIXED BOATS AND ACTUAL AQUATIC CONTENT. TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH MOJANG. Now get on Minecarts and reverting 1.7 biome and cave gen k thx.
Out of genuine curiosity, as it varies from individual to individual, what are these sort of changes of which you speak? [Forget the 1.9 combat changes, those are almost universally detested in some form lol]

Oookay then. I thought the Microsoft thing was largely dropped by now. I guess dead horses never decay (though I can sorta see MS sticking a rare hand in something every now and then).
This is obvious. The Minecraft wiki is one of the highest quality wikis out there, so I can see why Fandom/Wikia wanted to pick it and Curse's other resources up. Part of me hopes it rubs off in some form or another on the Wikia wikis because those things are abominations. Hopefully they change formatting and start enforcing some sort of standards but I don't see that happening.

SnapshotMC might be a new home for the suggestion community, but frankly I don't see it being home for any other part of the community. I see most moving off to Planet MC (and perhaps Reddit), with the mods largely congregating around CurseForge forums.
That brings me into something else. I'm wondering if the whole shutting down of the forums is a decision on Fandom's part as opposed to say, Citric's. I learned that back in December, Fandom, the people behind Wikia, acquired Curse from Twitch/Amazon (BE GONE BEZOS). Now, ask just about anyone about Curse and chances are you're going to hear about Minecraft by far the majority of the time in comparison to what else it offers. I'm left to wonder if they're shutting down the forums in favor of only having the wiki(s) for $ purposes. ...Which seems to be pretty asinine given that Curse is quite known for the MCF. To just come along to buy it and shut it down... Kinda nasty, putting it lightly there. But, cheekily, CurseForge is still owned by Twitch/Amazon, and it appears that recently the CurseForge forum was expanded in a suspiciously similar manner to the structure of the current forums here. So that's something.
If I go back to being inactive again right before shutdown, I hope I'll see y'all around sometime, somewhere in the future.

In my hiatus I forgot about this. Glad to see that it's still being worked on. ...And since I've started playing TF2 I'll never see the name "Spyro" the same ever again. That said I hope things continue well on PMC. Hopefully I'll see you around sometime if or when I come crawling back out from dormancy.
