Hey Yyon I have a glitch with the mod. If you die with a grappling hook deployed on my server it gives you "Fatal Error" and it requires you to restart the client before you can rejoin. Here is my server's log:

Awesome mod! I've been enjoying it so far.
I have a suggestion though: Let the hook be affected by gravity when thrown. Right now I can throw it to walls hundreds of meters away! Its strange.
Also, there's a bug water-related. You can hang underwater, basically. It also applies to the godmode, when flying.
As far as I can tell, water is just treated the same as air while using the grappling hook. It's a bug.
Having the hook be affected by gravity would make it more difficult to aim, and because there's often the need to aim quickly in this mod, I disabled gravity. The ability to throw to to walls hundreds of meters away is intentional, because that way I can swing spiderman-style in cities. If you don't want to be able to do that, use the configuration to set the grappling hook rope length.
I'm using 1.8.9 but I cant see it in my inventory at all i have looked all through the search area but can't find it why? and I have installed correctly
The mod only has versions for 1.7.10 and 1.8. There is no 1.8.9 version.
It would be awesome if I could try and post my modpack including this mod to the AT Launcher. But sadly I can't because Yyon does not know how to post modpack permissions. I do like this mod but I may have to remove it from my modpack and server because of the one sentence stating the modpack permissions that this thread is lacking.
Love the way this looks, really trying to get it to work for me though. I have the forge profile set up for 1.8 but when I try it out I can't find the tools to get started (using native creative mode to look for objects like the rope and don't see them anywhere)
I have the .jar set up in the mods folder and forge detects it and runs fine but nothing is there. I also started up wrong the first time because the forge profile was set to 1.8.9 but setting it back didn't seem to help. Any ideas what I might need to do to get this going? Really excited about the Enderstaff.
All the tools are in the "combat" tab of the creative menu. You might also try the crafting recipes. If it's not there, I would check the log for errors.
Sorry, just 1.8 and 1.7.10 right now. I had a problem setting up gradle forge for 1.8.8, and I just started school, so it might be awhile until it's ported.
For some reason, while using the hook, im taking constant damage. Armor doesnt stop it at all, its like im falling out of the world. What could be causing that? For some reason, it didnt happen in the first world i used it in, if that helps.
That's strange. Can you send me your world file? I'll see if I can reproduce it. Also, can you send me the log? (to see the log, go to "edit profile" in the launcher, and set "launcher visibility" to "keep the launcher open".)
I'm looking to do an adventure map where this would be ideal if it was possible to configure which blocks the grapple is allowed to anchor to or not. Put simply, I don't want players using this to bypass areas of the game by climbing over every obstacle, but I would like them to use grappling points that I specifically place into the world as parts of challenges.
Ok, I made a new version to do that. The version is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwum1DVR9SNNMnVoc0RYdzk2djQ/view?usp=sharing
Change the blocks that you can attach to by using
/gamerule grapplingBlocks minecraft:cobblestone,minecraft:stone
or any comma-separated list of blocks. "any" is any block.
The maximum length gamerule is also there if you want it.

No. They're pretty cheap so I would just craft another one when one breaks.

I edited the post to give modpack permissions.

I haven't played Just Cause; what features do you want me to add?

Does this solve your lag problem?

What version of minecraft and what version of my mod are you using? In v5 suffocation damage should be disabled when using the grappling hook.

Ok, I ported the maximum length feature to 1.7.10. Here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwum1DVR9SNNWDJKVjF6STNwamc/view?usp=sharing
