Tell your friend to at least filter and boil it. Would be bad to have another outbreak of cholera.

"If you think that I am just being a whiner, don't bother posting please" Even a statement like that could set off a argument against you. This is the internet, where people can post anything they like with no holds barred.

I would say that people are mean and all but it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes, people do make ignorant, arrogant, narcissistic remarks etc that they themselves are not aware of making.

But in the end, I'll advice you to just avoid discussion venues or avoid taking part in it if you can't handle the possibility of someone harshly talking back to you.

The DLCs aren't the "Can't access certain features of the game without them" DLCs, but rather "Fun and Unnecessary stuff" DLCs. Like, one of them adds Seasons and Child Protective Services taking away your children shall it be too cold, as well as a lot of (a lot of) other things.

Which was my point, I ain't against DLCs if that's what you have been trying to defend. "or do not want to miss out on any fun additions to the game.".

The DLCs for it aren't a requirement, they're optional.

Duh, that's rather obvious but it is a hinder for those who wish to get the full experience or do not want to miss out on any fun additions to the game.

I wonder this too, I never played the Sims before and wanted to get into Sims 3 but the shear amount of DLCs scared me away.

Not sure if this is a joke or..

For the benefit of a doubt, at least specify what game you need helpers for before go all hard on for the role-play. Unless you already stated it in your title as this game here: http://www.medieval-europe.eu/ ,still vague and could make people to think that you are asking help to build Scotland on a medieval themed Minecraft server.

    Quote from TeamWoofel»

It can be good and bad.

Obviously, games are expensive. I might have to spend a full day working in order to afford a new release, with the hope that I'll enjoy it. I remember clearly as a child working for days to afford the game Midnight Club II, which at the time costed $35. That was a fortune to a six year old, and I collected change for months before and worked a few days before it came out. I finally bought it, brought it home, and absolutely hated it. I felt cheated out of my money, and if I had the chance to try it beforehand, I could have avoided that.

    Fast forward about ten years.

I hear about this game called "Bioshock Infinite" coming out in a few months. I drove around all the local stores to find copies of the first two games, and found that every single one was sold out. I didn't know about Steam and didn't trust digital licenses, so I pirated the first two games and played them. I still couldn't afford Infinite, and so I torrented it to see how it was.

A few months later, even though I'd played through all three single player games, I bought them in a Steam sale. I enjoyed the games, so I rewarded the developers and bought them at a later date, even if I already fully enjoyed the experience.

However, around late 2012 I went on a torrenting spree and dowloaded roughly a hundred games, new releases, classics, indie games, etc. I played through all of them and was able to determine that about half of them were crap games that seemed good in the first ten minutes. With this reassurance that the other half were good games, I've been slowly buying them on Steam, and now I'm down to only a handful of games that I haven't yet paid for.

Have I redeemed myself? If the devs still get their money from my purchase of the game and their merchandise, does that make up for me "borrowing" their game?

Testing games/buying at a later date - understandable

Downloading with no intention of paying at all - you're a jerk

Testing games is fine, though I feel that it should just be to determine if the game could run on your system. There are many sources nowadays to see if the gameplay and plot is appealing to you and if it was accurate to the trailers.

Buying games at a later date is kinda a weird spot since you are still atleast paying the developer something, but at a extremely reduced price. It's like somebody decides to take your product and have the full experience with it, wait till it's value has drop in the market and finally decides to pay for it at that price.

Nah it's not alright for a 13 year old to play FPS, next thing you know they are going out on a murderous rampage.

I recommend Barbie Island Princess, MLP games and if you reaaally want your kids to try out some hardcore stuffs, I'll go for animal crossing.

    1. About 1 - 5% will.

    2. Its alright if the devs allows it right?

    3. Really? Look at The Binding of Isaac, tell me that is not a critically acclaimed sought out game :/

    4. Um, We are at the Minecraft forums right?

1: And allowing that 95-99% to be able to enjoy another's work for free doesn't sound like an issue to you?

2: Devs in the past has allowed piracy for a few reasons but that doesn't mean that piracy as a whole is accepted by all devs and is even remotely good.

3: And how many other games has had the same experience?

4: Yes we are in the Minecraft forums and as such, that is the community's main common interest. We are in the off topic section meaning we can discuss anything besides Minecraft. Lastly, you can / should use other sources to back your claims which not related to Minecraft in any venue else it defeats the point of having a source material in the first place.

posted a message on Is Piracy good or bad?

    So you are:

1: Assuming all pirates WILL buy the game if they like it after pirating it.

2: Saying that if a game has enough sales it becomes alright to pirate it.

3: Pirates leaving a good review means no loss sales. Well, you know those indie devs that couldn't make a profit due to the majority who already experienced the game without paying? At least they got good reviews! Lets hope they got enough funds to make another game that might possibly fall into the same trend!

4: Using multiple sources, cool! Wait.. "Notch", "Notch","Notch","Notch". I wouldn't count multiple articles revolving a single person and event as multiple sources unless you are performing a validation check.

There is a reason why Piracy is illegal (Well, unless you belong to a country that has an in-ept law system that can't keep up with the rest of the world.).

Not to be rude but I think anyone creating a thread that revolves around opinions and your stance on a certain matter should state their own and elaborate as well so as to get the ball rolling.

Right now I am just going to say, I don't know if it's real and I think might be an inconvenience if it is.

posted a message on Is Piracy good or bad?

Aside from pirating a game to check compatibility and gameplay due to the lack of a demo or benchmark tool , and/or the game is no longer on the market (Old games), I have yet to see other valid reasons to excuse such practices. And no, pirating because a game is horrible, overpriced, from a 'bad' developer or you simply not having enough cash for it is a poor excuse.

As for whether piracy causes a revenue loss, I feel that it does though no definite percentage nor value could be established. However it can be assumed that with the availability of piracy and how simple it has become to acquire pirated copies, loss of revenue can be affirmed.

posted a message on what do guys think about girl gamers

I think this is all a waste of time since it a person's gender shouldn't affect how you perceive or react to them. While I do know of people who use their gender to be 'popular' on the internet, it's not completely their fault. No body forced desperate guys to fall for their antics and I sometimes do hope that they get burned out and learn.

I'm sorry to be so skeptical but this seems to improbable to me. Why not you prove it by making little hour to hour snaps with your username in the pic to show the raw deal as well as giving some insight on how you go about your day?

But in any case, if you are indeed homeless now, why don't you contact your parents? What happen to your roommate who did not pay his share of the rest which caused you to be kicked out? How was the transition of your lifestyle, attitude and outlook in life within this past two months?

I sincerely hope this is fake as being homeless is not something to be trifled with and I wish the best for you.

posted a message on Do you think Minecraft will "pop"?

I personally feel that Minecraft has passed it's 'peak' and is slowly becoming more 'settled' as all finished games tends to go. The way Minecraft is developed and it's gameplay, there won't really be an established end to it's development cycle but I think that the community needs to understand that every game can't go on forever. People will keep on playing it and developers may continue to provide support and content update though like as seen from Blizzard and their WoW.

I would like to see other games like Minecraft such as Creativerse to appear and try their hand at this genre without the hostility seen by people who simply bash and label them as clones (Though there are some games that are just blatant cash grabs) since more competition spurs a need to provide higher quality products.
