It sounds like your judging entire genres without listening to them a whole lot, but are not judging metal in the same way because you have an interest in it.
And think that why? Are you really that hell bent on proving all the other things I said are harder to do than to play a complex metal song?

Hey man give me some examples of good glam metal?

Let me put it this way, those who play metal really shine at playing their instrument. You generally won't see a lead guitarist making dubstep. And you won't see a lead guitarist rapping. But what you will see the lead guitarist doing is playing the guitar as if his life depends on it.

I'm not saying metal requires more skill, I'm saying that the average level of song complexity often lies a lot higher with metal than with other genres. A metal guitarist would easily be able to repeat any jazz guitar *at least that's what I think. Correct me if I'm being ignorant* and thus people make claims metal requires more skill. It's not entirely true, but it's not grasped out of nowhere either.
I take you don't like glam metal because you think a lot of it isn't heavy enough, but I'll give some good examples either way.I'm sure you've heard of all the massive bands like Poison, Warrant, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue (surprised that a heavy metal fan wouldn't like them), etc., so I'll give you more underground glam suggestions. You have Hardcore Superstar, a new glam metal band that say have thrash influences as well, Crashdiet, another new glam metal band with a rawer more punky sound, L.A. Guns (could be considered underground depending on how you look at it) really sleazy metal band, Every Mother's Nightmare, underrated early 90's glam metal band, and the list goes on.New glam metal is for the most part heavier than old glam.

How are the songs in metal more complex than any other genre?
The better question would be how are metal songs "not" more complex than any other genre, go listen to any Dream Theater or early Queensryche song and see what is more complex.

I said "musically" it is arguably more talented, it's easy to learn how to make dubstep, how to write a catchy pop/country tune, or play a few repetitive chords over and over again (which most current Country/Pop music is), I'm not saying it has better vocal talent (which I believe a lot of metal singers are given enough credit for how talented they really are), I'm not saying rapping doesn't take talent, I'm not saying any of that, but musically playing a progressive/thrash/death metal song can sure be a lot harder to play than any power pop/bubblegum pop song ever written.

posted a message on Servers down?
So I go to log into my Minecraft account and it says this:

Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers.
Please make sure that you are online and Minecraft is not blocked.

I am online obviously or else I wouldn't be posting this, and I've never had Minecraft blocked on my PC.Can someone shed a light on this for me?

Lol this makes me think of the time some dude hacked
my Xbox account and played a game that wasn't even out.

Give me the server IP. I'll take a look.
Well considering it's an Alpha there is no OFFICIAL release of it, and the IP was only handed out by the owner, who doesn't like people he hasn't invited to the server to join.If he is a hacker and knows I told you the IP that wouldn't be good.

Well I'm officially going to delete that off my server list, but I'm going to keep the IP just in case something happens and someone needs the IP to punish him.

If you ARE connected to the internet, (and you probably are since you wouldn't be posting this if you were not) your IP address is available to EVERYONE else connected (You, me, the above poster, forum mods, random person). So, it is OK if someone tells you that they know your IP. Someone can WHOIS your IP and see where you live, all the information your Internet Service Provider (Phone Company or Satellite Company) knows. Once someone knows your WHOIS data they can run a google search on the interwebs and find your data like electronic mail address. They DO know where you live but they don't know exactly where (Exact house, apartment floor, or doorbell name). They don't know your Social Security Number, ID and full name. If you think that someone knowing your IP is a threat, terminate your internet connection and cut the phone line and return to smoke signals to communicate.
This makes me feel even more safe.

And the Bukkit team has been given me the same type of responses, so I think all is good.If he starts trying to tell me he can hack again I'll just tell him I'm going to go to the authorities and see how he takes that lol

Thanks for all the help guys!

Well first off I just like to say I'm 15.

Second off, the guy told me he lived in Ohio so I'm not worrying about him coming to where I live (it's quite a ways from Ohio), and he did tell me the central "main" city if you will in the state, which I do live very close near, but it's not where I live.

He said all he had to do to hack me was type the IP in the search bar and edit stuff, which I highly don't is how you do.And there were quite a few people coming on and off the server that weren't getting this told to them, even more reason to believe it's a troll. He said they are trying to get a website up and that 300 people help build the server so there's another reason to believe it's a troll.

I'm pretty much calm about it right now, because if something does happen (which I seriously doubt because of what Akynth said), I'll just get my parents to go to the authorities and have him punished.I posted on Bukkit because he did threaten me.

I just posted something concerning the matter on Bukkit's forums, let's hope they are able to figure it out.I'm almost 100% sure this guy is a kid though, so if that is the case I know he is trying to mess with me.

There's no way to figure out someone's phone number from them logging onto a server.

Chances are, they have some plugin installed where they can tell what city your IP is coming from. But I wouldn't be worried, he's probably messing with you. However, if things begin to get dangerous, ask the person what hoster he uses for his server (unless it's run from his computer). If he does use a hoster, contact it and report him. If the kid can get into your parents' bank account, I would advise them to change their security information and just to be safe, cancel their credit cards. But that's only if you suspect this person really knows everything about you. Which they probably don't.
Your probably right, I mean how could he tell my phone number and email just from joining the server?
    Quote from Frog81

Hotmail isn't used by most people. Gmail and stuff are generally more popular.
O, well it looks like he was just trying to guess it, I told him it was not realizing it wasn't, but of course now I do.

Huh... well, to be on the safe side, you should sleep with a couple of sharp kitchen knives and keep a crowbar under your pillow in the next week or so.
This is very bad, I hope your kinding because Im truly as scarred as heck right now, I have know how Idea how he has gained this information but there has to be something to do to get him trouble. Can't he go to jail for this? Can't he access my parents bank account? what do I do!

I was on another server and he said he had a server so I asked for the IP and joined, than got told all this by him.

Just remembered he told me that he turned phone number and email off on the Bukkit Essentials thing, but said he knew my email.I asked him what was it and he says all he knew was "it ends with @hotmail.com!", which of course is what most people use, but mine nor my parents end with that so turns out he doesn't know it, just gotta make sure I don't log back in so he can get a chance to.

I wouldn't worry about it. He does sound like a 12 year old. it is easy to hack people when you get an IP though. So i suggest not to gamble, dont go back on his server if you dont feel comfortable.
So Im guessing Bukkit does give you an IP of everyone everytime you go on?
