Been looking forward to release.

In the fourth episode, we do our first bit of actual building and put together a small cow farm.

In episode three, we finally get to explore the mountain.

In this second episode, I take care of the basics of survival.

A good year or so ago, a friend introduced me to the Castle Building Challenge here on the forums. It's taken me until recently to actually give it a shot, and I've decided to record the journey. I've adapted the rules just slightly so that I can do it in my already existing survival world, in that I've gone a long distance through the Nether and am using wherever my portal comes out as my "spawn". This will be, of course, a finite series, ending when the challenge is complete.



In this first episode, I say goodbye to the home I've lived in for well over a year and set off into the great unknown.

Just wanted to say that it was a ton of fun. Really glad to be included in this!

Once you complete all the quests at the factory - all four of them - then the door to the train station opens up in the factory.

if you hit a mob, there's a knockback effect. If you time it right you can kill them without them hitting you. That's kind of tricky though, and I wouldn't suggest it without armor.

Personally, if my goal is to actually kill the enderman, I'll just quickly build a two high roof over my head. They don't fit under, so as long as you don't get too close to the edge you'll be fine. If you don't want to fight, just splash water on them like others have said. If you're not carrying a water bucket on you regularly (I consider this vital equipment) then hop in a lake or something.

I used my username, yirggzmb (yes, all lowercase), and at first I was pretty sure it was a boring seed. You spawn in a plains, near a forest and a jungle. It actually turned out to be kinda cool once I flew around, though.

Not too far away, near the shore, there is a cave opening leading to an almost straight shot down to level 15, with a pretty expansive looking cave system. (Near X:57 Z:258)

In a nearby swamp, I found two ravines running parallel and cut through by a third. (Near X:285 Z:99)

And near the swamp was a rather nice looking extreme hills biome, which is the only thing I really bothered taking screenshots of. I mean, I tried the others, but you can't really tell what they are from a photo.


Flying around in a relative circle around spawn, I also found a few villages, and some other desireable structures. I didn't bother marking down coords though.
