figured it out - where it says preview image shoud actually be where the png file goes and the skin - 'upload' should be the preview image - yes its a bug - a visa versa bug lol

My preview image is precisley 180px wide and 180px high and i can't upload my skin because of this dodgy thing, even if i put on a smaller image the same text appears when the page refreshes:

'You can only upload images that are 180px wide and 180px high for your preview image!'

Im pretty sure this is a bug of some sort if it cant detect that the picture is exactly what its saying isn't. I hope its a bug anyways because im 100% sure i done nothing incorrect.... i hope :/

Try that. Proceed and run a user port scan at your server's port.

    Results:

Your system has achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet — solicited or otherwise — was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet. Some questionable personal security systems expose their users by attempting to "counter-probe the prober", thus revealing themselves. But your system wisely remained silent in every way. Very nice.

    Port
    Status Protocol and Application

    25565
Stealth Unknown Protocol for this port
    Unknown Application for this port

So according to this even though that other software says its open its not.. therefore i need to...? what exactly do i do now? and btw tried it with both firewalls off and didn't work either.

I used Skype's portforwarding walkthrough, i done everything his mentioned, even had him on msn to help me with some parts.

Both my firewalls - windows and kaspersky accept the new ports i've made

I can join my server using the host's link

I try giving the external url to my mate on msn to join me and when he clicks it the window shows a red background and text saying along hte lines of cannot connect maybe the server is down.

I have my server running when i invite him.

I have also sent him an url with my ip address and port number and that doesnt work either

    I HAVE PORT FORWARDED
    I'VE USED PORT 25565
MY FIREWALLS THAT EXIST ON MY COMPUTER ACCEPT THE PORTS
THE PORTS ARE 100% OPEN - BOTH TCP AND UDP
    VERIFY-NAMES=FALSE!!!
AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN MENTIONED ON THIS FORUM SO FAR I'VE CHECKED AND DONE AND STILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM...

WHY CAN NOONE JOIN MY SERVER??? sorry for caps but sick of people suggesting the same crap i already know, yes im pretty annoyed.

Virtually every block type you've suggested here has already been suggested, so I won't comment further on them.

Method one of your game mode sounds really, really fun. I hope water that rises becomes a part of the game soon just so I can start making maps to play this on.

Your Toggle Scenery idea is great. I'd really like to be able to change the background of the map to suit the main island (lava, sky, sand for hellscapes, floating islands, deserts - etc.).

Invite could be useful once a more versatile system is in place on the main site / server list. As is, you can't even PM on the forum, much less on the actual game site. I see your point, though; it's hard to reach players you don't have outside contact with.

The block removal script sounds cumbersome. I'd like the console to notify me of deletions, or log them separately with a player name and timestamp - but any counter activity should be manual. Automating it would be too much of a double-edge (as addressed in a previous suggestion of this function).

GOes to show everyone thinks the same things when it comes to wanting more different types of block lol. Thanks for posting

I've read the wiki and seen the ideas already shown so any that may seem repeated has only came up recently to my understanding, anywoos below are some of my own personal idea...

    Block Types

    Unbreakable Glass

Instead of solid black criss-crossed unbreakable blocks, a block just like the glass block only it cannot be destroyed unless if your an admin, can be helpful as the same reasons for solid unbreakables but can be used for say buildings, protectin projects from getting soaked in water or burnt in lava but able to see the substances. And mostly to tease griefers into thinking they can waltz in and destroy the glass to get inside only to find there ****ed hehe

Yeah this is very useful, I want this.

    Response: Shweet :biggrin.gif:

    Invisible / Boundry Blocks

These type of blocks are basically an invisible barrier that either placed by admins of the server host. Just to restrict areas of the map that are reserved from being messed with. Can be deleted again when needing removed.

I'm not sure about this. It would be weird to just walk into an invisible wall, not being able to pass. I think the unbreakable glass is better for this, at least it makes you able to see why you can't pass

Response: Good point i gotta agree with ya on there :smile.gif:

Different coloured / gradient / textured Blocks

At the moment we have the basic primary - tertiary colours but if possible different grades of a colour for example, different Sand block shades to make beaches etc more-so realistic, a few more textured blocks such as metal, plastic, a few more wood types and so on, jst to add a bit more realism to building. Oh and different coloured sponges its a must!

If this gets implemented we have a bit too much blocks IMO.

Response: maybe so but by that point there would be an inventory with tabs, imagine when selecting colours for a font on microsoft word, theres like a pixel blob with all shades of colour and below a white - black shade. That would be one tab to change the colour of the block, for textures only a few more than what there is, and basically a texture tab say of up to 16 textures... thats how it would be able to work, but i respect your opinion.. lets move on :biggrin.gif:

    Moveable Blocks

A bit of a challenge if your up for it, two types of block, one that moves vertically, one horizontally. And the plan here is that when placed they will move say for horizontal, will move along the row of blocks that your facing in front, vertically will move up. Then use of original blocks can be used to stop them moving in one direction and return back the opposite way. Better illustrated a cheesy example below:

[M]--------->----[M]------->| (Movining block, [M] keeps moving this direction > until it hits boundry wall |, then returns...)

    |----------[b] (Average block [b] placed between path of moving block [M] keeps it moving within that gap)

And the same applys for the vertical block, simple idea, could you pull it off? I hope so would be good for lifts and reaching levels easier than making totem poles of the same block to reach higher points.

This sounds good but at what speed should they travel? Should you be able to change it for every block? Also what would it do in water, go slower or just ignore the water?

Response: honestly i didnt fully think it through because i thought it would happen just a basic description of the idea, but overall it depends what the game creators want to do with the speed of the block, going slighty slower in water would be cool, but imo the speed for it to move in 'air' would be half the speed of when you lay 3-5 blocks infront of you holding the mouse button seeing them being placed and gettin closer... half that speed would seem reasonable.
    Toggle water and lava blocks

Be able to produce water and lava blocks - admins only by the way not that stupid otherwise maps would be destroyed by griefers lol. Also able to toggle wether they spread when produced or just as all other blocks produce as one block and wont spread anywhere, would be cool for rain effects, making volcanos etc... plus new sports could be made too and you could even make a log flume oh the ideas are popping up now please make this happen lol

At first this looks like a good idea, but if an admin leaves it somewhere unportected a griefer can come along and flood everything.

Response: Well hopefully the idea of being able to toggle weather it spreads or not then leaves the admin responsible. If he comes on the next day to find his jaccuzi is in the middle of loch ness well he / she hehe, should have toggled the block or outside blcks not to spread... But otherwise if this wasnt implemented then i have no comment lol.

    Server Ideas

    Toggle Scenery

Be able to changed the background scenery to something different, i mean a few themes invented by yourselfs which we server creators can use to make our servers look different, not seriously important to me jst an idea of the top of my head lol

Totally agree, lava maps should have lava scenery, not an ocean.

Response: Yup ocean then lava hmm like having desert background and snow land (if snow was available in blocks :smile.gif: )

    Invite Button

Be able to input a users / members name such as your friends or people you want to join your private server and an 'Invite' button which then sends them an url to there profile which makes it easier to get in touch with people you havnt added to msn and to save typing it out in the chat menu on a server where you can talk to them... the principle behind this idea is to be able to invite people to a private server without coming on the forum because then everyone will get it (well duh obviously :tongue.gif:)

We would need a friends system for this first, if that gets implemented this would be a great feature.

Response: Well yeah im hoping something like this eventually gets produced for this idea to work.

    Block removal Script

THis is a complex idea that may be hard to produce however, a script that detects when a block is deleted, a time and date when it was removed and a list of the players that are on the server at the time when the block is removed - i know it may be alot of data that would store up but its my idea / way of catching out griefers. If you have a simpler method of this idea well go for it and i hope something like this is done as it would help alot.

This will result in a lot of data being sent when alot of people are digging an underground base. This may cause some lag on the server. It will also be hard to find out exactly who destroyed blocks while griefing, and who destroyed it for building/digging.

Response: I thought so, i knew it would be alot of data to take in, its merely a suggestion / another way at detecting griefers, simply that :smile.gif:.
    Game Modes

    FT3

(First To The Top - three t's) - this is a game where a series of blocks are position ina spiral formation from a lower level up to a higher one. THe aim of the game is to make your way up the blocks to the finish line at the top, however theres two methods to this next part of the idea:

Method 1: Water / lava rises up slowly kinda like sudden death on worms, and if you fall off or miss a block while jumping you fall, die and wait for everyone else, also if your a fat steg and can't make it up in time and get drowned or burnt you also die ya beefcake!

Method 2: If you miss a block or fall off, you have to start from the nearest checkpoint or the very begning, it depends.

From choosing one of these methods, this game mode can take up to 8 players, who race each other up the course and the first three people will be awarded 1st / 2nd / 3rd places, if none finishes no one wins and the level restarts

Its naff, people may complain that they arn't good at jumping between gaps etc but its an idea, just plainly that :biggrin.gif: yesh i called my own idea naff but only because i dont die when i fall off hehe

Sounds fun. It's like that jump server I went to once.

    Response: lol

    Members Ideas I build with:-

    DanM - Triangle Shaped Blocks

    Yeah, we need those.

    Respone: sure do

andy8271 - Sausage Shaped Blocks sorta like plant blocks but sausages lol

    What?

Respone: lol you know how we have the mushroom and plant blocks, replace the plant with a sausage - personally i think its a bit pointless but i done him a favour.

Firestar_3x - Wheel Shaped Blocks (tyres) , Pigeon Block (Pigeon in a seethrough block like the plant blocks) and Pigeon Poo Block for our City theme (same style block but only poo) hehe

    Uhm... I guess it's ok?
Response: The poo is just for fun lol but i hope we get pigeons or even seaguls, we need some form of blocked animal :smile.gif:

My 2 pence :biggrin.gif:... thanks for posting too.

Everything is as illustrated above, but its still sayin my server is down / unavailagle when i try connecting to it, what am i doing wrong here?

The url above where you say for ME to join use that url, i've put my IP address instead of that one, i also tried the gateway IP but that hasnt changed anything so.... Help! lol thanks for taking your time to help btw much appreciated.

No it paid sucessfully, i got a reciept in my e-mail sayin:

    Address status: Confirmed
    Delivery method: Not specified

How do i get updated? Do you actually send a code of something in the post or should it update the second i pay? I can't quite seem to find a thread explaining the process of purchasing this and what happens etc... which leaves me confused lol.

You wouldn't mind giving me a brief explanation would you?
