    I played many different Minecraft Roleplays. Namely in Exteria I was a Duke, ruling over the construction of homes and housing players. In Realm of Arion I became a Count after founding a settlement and began work with a magic user. In Star-wars I became a rebel leader and successfully beat back both Sith and Jedi by overwhelming numbers thanks to all the towns folk wanting to be free from any war whats so ever.

    If your character able is able to force another character's actions or emotions, then you are Power-gaming. E.G. *Alexis swings his sword and kills the king and makes the queen cry*

    There is no chance for the opposition to attempt any action and there is no chance to create emotion as it has been forced upon them.

    If your character is to meet someone who you've never met before and you can see their name above their head after which you go on to call that person by name. That is IC met-gaming, as there is no way you could have known their name unless it was told to you by someone else or by the person themselves.

    (Works with Nick Ashenthorn) Alexis is an armour smith, working alongside his partner Nick. Alexis provides the heat required to heat the metal up enough that it becomes malleable, else he is used to weld together heavier pieces of iron, such as a carriage wheel or heavy chain links.


    -Character description(At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):


    Alexis has green eyes, blonde hair and stands tall at 1.9m. He is rather well built due to the fact that he is always hammering away at iron and lifting heavy carriage wheels.


    He wears a thick red coat to protect him from the heat of the forge. He also wears leather boots a waistcoat and a simple white shirt. On his head he has goggles to protect his eyes from sparks that may fly his direction. He also has a wrist band that holds the fire artifact heirloom that his family had given him.


    -Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):

    Quick to anger Alexis is not one to take an insult lightly. Loud and maybe even obnoxious, one will hear Alexis before they see him. However, get on his good side and he will become one of your most loyal friends, even if he may think you are a dunce, he will follow you to hell and back. With strangers Alexis is kind and somewhat patience, but if you are ignorant of current events or generally dense Alexis will chase him out with a second thought. Business is important to Alexis and he takes pride in his work always trying to be as precise as possible. He will rather lose business or chase people out so that he can make the perfect piece of equipment or tools.


    -Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):

    Deep within Barkenstead lived a family, and in this family was a mother, whose mission in life was to make sure that she could help as many people to survive as she could. Such a mission needed an outlet and thus the Thatchers, who previously were tool blacksmiths became armor smiths.


    The family was made up of Duncan Thatcher, the father, Maria Thatcher the Mother and Young Alexis. The sudden change in craft came at the hand of a sudden death of Alexis's aunt. Sue Kasher. She was struck by an errant arrow while hunting for meat to bring back to the market.


    Maria, filled with a passion to make sure no more of her loved ones might die a sudden death, began to convince Duncan that he should change his profession from Tool smith to armor smith and use his magical ability, which he used to heat the furnace, to make armor instead of tools. Maria further convinced Duncan by promising to help create the armor pieces, as up until that point she had been educating Alexis to read and write. Luckily the change was not difficult, however a much larger amount of iron was needed to do this. Alexis, being young was tasked with carting the larger amount of iron to and from the market. It did not take long for the Thatchers to begin producing decent armor parts. With Duncan's skill in making tools and Maria's passion for making the perfect armor, sales soon started coming in.


    Alexis was able to learn much about the process of armor production from his parents and was even able to learn how to make some tools from his father. However, prized above all the knowledge both parents had was a family heirloom. A flame elemental artifact. To everyone else it was a convex circle of glass, rimmed with a golden ring that had arcane symbols stamped into it. But to the Thatchers it was what they would pray to. Alexis and Duncan would pray to Bothimir, the God of magic, asking that their use of magic would improve and that they would receive continued use of magic. While Maria would pray to Aderoth, asking that all who wore her armor might be protected by it.


    As Alexis had been excitedly expecting, he received the fire artifact heirloom as a 21st birthday gift, and spent many years perfecting his fire magic. At least, on a very basic level, to the point where he could create sparks by rubbing his hands together, and create a small flame over a single finger by snapping his fingers. When he finally got the hang of it, and looked forward to new challenges, he said goodbye to his parents and headed out at the age of 25. It was that very night he moved out that he met a very strange girl having her 21st birthday in a tavern he hoped to spend the night. Nicky Ashenthorn (K_is_a_Dino). Interested in her strange man-like behavior, they started talking, and joking over many cups of ale. However, it became clear that the two had much in common, and that Alexis could be hired for good pay by Nick's father, an armorer, as well as have a free place to stay. He worked with Nick and her father for two years before Nick and Alexis finally earned enough money to live alone and try buy the armour-smithy that they kept talking about owning. So now, together, with decent money in their pockets, they have set off through the many streets of Barkenstead, in hopes of finding the right place to settle down.


    -Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each.)


    You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.


    If one were to observe Alexis at the exact moment he realized he was robbed one might say that they saw small flames erupt from his finger tips.


    To Alexis there was only one thing on his mind. He was going to get his money back and he was not going to stop until he did.


    "STOP THAT CHILD RIGHT NOW! COME BACK HERE WITH MY MONEY YOU LITTLE THIEF! GAURDS STOP HIM RIGHT NOW!"


    Once the guards had dragged the child back to Alexis, Alexis would swiftly take my money back, and ask the authorities to deal with him. Just because he is a kid, doesn't mean he is free from the law.


    You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.


    "Ah! What do we have have here?"


    *He bends over to get closer look at the trap, keeping in mind not to come too close to the wolf less he leave with a new bite mark.*


    "Ah, you are not going to go anywhere are you? Judging by the size of the trap, the bones in your leg are definitely shattered."


    *He draws a large knife from his belt*


    "Sorry, but you're coming with me."


    *He lifts the knife above his head and plunges it deep into the wolves side. Now sure that the wild animal is dead he opens the trap and releases the animals leg. After releasing the dead Wolf he would pull out a small folded cloth bag from his satchel and puts the three pups in before tying the bag to his side. He would quickly set the trap again before hoisting the dead animal on his shoulders and continuing off towards the city, now planning to stop by the market to sell a wolf pelt and perhaps some pups.*

    -Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities:

    I believe Alexis would have inherited the gift of using magic from his father and the heirloom they keep as a gift to pass down through the family. Alexis would use this artifact to aid him in his armor smiting capability.


    -Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: Magic, as useful as it is, has a price on mental and physical condition. Overuse will see the mage unable to stand or concentrate properly. Even further use could possibly kill the mage that is if the artifact they are using does not shatter or explode. Each artifact that is used to focus ones magic ability has a threshold of how big a spell it is able to cast. Force too much magic into a lesser artifact and it could shatter.


    -Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: Magic is channeled through an artifact. There are no spells, only what the certain artifact is created to work with, such as elemental or holy magic. There are also enchanted items that are only able to do one thing and do not require a users magical ability. Depending on the size or power of the magic, it could take longer to cast than other spells. Once a spell is cast it drains the magic users physical and mental ability and should mages push themselves they could potentially kill themselves. All artifacts have thresholds and if too much magic is focused through it, the artifact could break.


    -You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: Coming from a family that will hand down a fire artifact as a heirloom to the eldest Alexis would immediately begin to practice with this trinket so that when he would receive the heirloom form his family he would not shatter it by accidentally forcing to much magic into it in one go. Alexis would attempt to set a piece of parchment on fire with this trinket. Keeping the trinket close to his hands by strapping it to his wrist. The trinket would be a small golden loop with arcane symbols engraved in the center. Alexis would click his fingers in an attempt to get a spark. At first it might not work, but he would not give up. He would clap his hands, shake them out or even point at the paper and shout "fire!" Eventually Alexis would return to clicking his fingers. He would focus on creating a spark, imagining it pop from his finger tips as he clicked them together. He would close his eyes and click his fingers one last time.


    *Snap*


    Suddenly the room would be basked in a soft red glow as the parchment would catch fire, a single flame still flickering with life, would hover just above Alexis's thumb. On Alexis's wrist the golden loop would be softly glowing. The arcane symbols turning a deep red as the flame flickered above Alexis's thumb.


    Alexis was delighted with the result and quickly blew out the flame. As suddenly as the arcane symbols turned red they then returned back to their original state.


    Alexis would then put out what was left of the parchment. He would not push the trinket any further and only used his magic to light candles are start fires used to cook meals. Even so it was used sparingly as Alexis would feel light headed after light a few candles or starting a wood fire.

    Why do you want to be an Alpha tester? : I would really like to see if this works. I have been a part of and have created hundreds of role plays mostly on a larger scale and I would like to be a part of one that takes a slightly different approach to the role play community and its start up.



    Write a small paragraph of your character or write how you got to the island: Alexis Atland, born into poverty, was lucky enough to be born smart.He was able to find that being in poverty did not mean that is what he was limited to. He first began his attempt at breaking out of poverty by committing petty theft, soon realizing that there was not enough money being gained from thievery he then turned to con-artistry. It was there that he met Pandora. On the outskirts of the market right before Alexis was about to sell fools gold to a trader, along she came, deftly pick pocketing others as she passed by. Alexis was in awe, he quickly finished up his deal and ran after, trying not to loose her in the crowd.



    But today was not her day. A large man with keen senses had seen her coming and was prepared. He grabbed her hand and began to call for the guards. Alexis acted quickly, he grabbed a near by vase and brought it down with as much force as possible. It was not enough to knock him out, but the large man stumbled and his grip loosened, the lady seized her opportunity and ran for the docks, closely followed by Alexis and a large company of guards.



    "Quick, follow me!" Called Alexis as he ran past her. "I know of a ship that's about to leave, we'll be able to lay low for a while before returning."



    The lady, seeing no other option, followed her savior. Both made it to the ship in the nick of time. With a quick bribe of the Helmsman, the two were off, but to where they did not know.

    Why do you want to join?: I'm a RP vet and I'm looking to get back into the swing of things.



    What role-play experience do you have (if any?): Many, many different forum and game RP's. We really don't have the space or the time to list them all.



    Definitions: Please give a full description of each IN YOUR OWN WORDS. You will be expected to abide by these definitions on the server. You giving these definitions is a way of showing us you understand them and agree to follow them in role-play.



    Define Meta-gaming (keep in mind there are two types, OOC and IC): If your character is to meet someone who you've never met before and you can see their name above their head after which you go on to call that person by name. That is IC met-gaming, as there is no way you could have known their name unless it was told to you by someone else or by the person themselves.

    OOC Meta-gaming would be where a character knows where things are, due to discussions you have had outside of the game. Such as a persons lost treasure.

    Define Power-gaming (there are technically 2 definitions, the other is also referred to as Power-emoting):

    If your character able is able to force another characters actions or emotions then you are Power-gaming. E.G. *Alexis swings his sword and kills the king and makes the queen cry*

    There is no chance for the opposition to attempt any action and there is no chance to create emotion as it has been forced upon them.

    Define Role-playing: Role play is the activity of creating a character and then taking on said character. Acting out their actions and how they would respond to certain situations.


    Define God-modding:

    *Alexis walks into the room pulls the pin on his grenade and kills 20 people, then the grenade explodes.*

    That is a good example of bad God-modding, essentially being able to do the impossible. There is no way your character would be able to do these things .


    Go on to create your character, please familiarize yourself with the lore we have lovingly crafted. Please remember to keep all lore in mind while writing your character’s history, and make sure to agree to the definitions above (no power-gaming in your bio!) Also, try to avoid clichés. (Parents died, revenge, et cetera.)

    Character description: Rather tall an skinny for his race. It is obvious he wasn't made to be a war monger like his kin were. He wears plain clothes, and a bracelet given to him by his mother.










    Character personality: He is your all round nice guy, a little out of character for the De'asllo. He fully embraces the De'asllo's way of life. There is nothing that he would want to change other than the slightly aggressive nature of his peers. He is trying to help others and mostly just stay alive. But in the tempting lands he yearns for a bit of adventure. He is quiet the business orientated person, preferring rather to barter and trade than fight.

    Strengths (Both physical and personality): Quick thinker, careful planner, Silver tongue and calm

    Weaknesses Not very strong, not a fighter, over confident, if he becomes angry he is uncontrollable and will most likely hurt himself before hurting anyone whose angered him, dry sense of humor.


    Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:

    *Gets up from seat and moves over to bar*

    "Sir if you would please look into your purse you would see the correct amount of coins given to you, by me, for this drink. Should you be short, know that it was someone else who has under paid you."


    Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:

    "Oh dear..."

    *He gets up and runs over to the scene stopping just before the corner*

    "Gaurds! Gaurds! In here! There has been a murder! Quick! Gaurds, come here!"

    "I don't know about you, but I've been here my entire life. Born and raised in this area. I used to play in and run down alleys and generally be a little kid. My parents, well they were here too. They ran the local tavern their whole lives. Hell, they made it what it is today. You know they came here with nothing, nothing but the clothes on their backs and a few gold coins in my father's purse and from that they built up this tavern. From ***** house, to famed establishment."

    *He takes a moment to relive his childhood memories.*

    "It was thanks to my parents that I learnt how to run a business. It was thanks to them, that I have this tavern under my own name. It's thanks to them that I have a soft bed to sleep in. I'm proud of my parents and I'm sure as hell not going to disappoint them when it comes to this tavern!"

    *He slams down his drink on the table, small drops of cider spill over*

    "I fought for this place. Fought to get the tables you drink upon, fought to get the bread you eat. I've done all sorts that I shouldn't have. But I still have this tavern because of it."

    *He takes a drink*

    "But this has all happened in the past, this is now and now. Well my parents moved into the country side near some strange land I've never heard of. I send them letters every now and then, always get the same response though. 'Doing fine, grass is lovely, sun is shining.' Ah well. So long as they are happy, so am I."

    *He smiles*

    "Although its not always about my tavern. I want to be able to have friends you know. Have regulars come in, talk about the weather, maybe even get some gossip thats roaming round the district. Hell I could even help out some of the local archeologists. So long as the come past my tavern for a drink afterwards. We could all have a laugh, get drunk sings songs till the morning, then drink some more. Sounds like a great idea actually."

    *He laughs*

    "I'm a curios person by nature, I like trying new things. So if you have an idea. Don't be a afraid to run it past me. I might even have a pointer or two for you."

    *He gets up from his seat*

    "So what will it be?"

    This has always been a day dream that Alexis has, hoping one day he could own a tavern and chat with a regular like he always does in this specific day dream he has. In reality, his parents didn't own a tavern. They were barely farmers and sold their barely to breweries so that beer could be made. A simple life, but unfortunately Alexis found it too boring. He always dreamed of being on the other end of the brewery. Being the one who bought the beer and sold it at his own tavern. Never knowing what might happen next, maybe tonight there'd be a bar fight, maybe there'd be a stranger in town or maybe it would just be the usual lot who would come in and have a good chat about their adventures.

    But Alexis would never know unless he actually owned a tavern. So one day after delivering a load of barely to the breweries, Alexis found the foreman and started to talk to him about getting a job in the brewery itself. Many chats later, Alexis found himself next to an experienced Brew master with a quill and a book, taking down as many notes as possible. Luckily for Alexis, his mother came from a well-off family was educated as a girl. She passed on the ability to read and write to Alexis before he old enough to help out around the farm. A few years, many many barrels of beer, a few failed brews later Alexis found himself, leaving the comfort of the brewery he worked for and taking all the knowledge he gained from his teacher and taking it to the open road.

    At the moment Alexis has no idea where he will go, what he might do and even if he will be able to open his own tavern. All he knows, is that right now, he's having the best time of his life.

    Defining characteristics and physical appearance: Tall, blonde and skinny with bright green eyes. A pair of sturdy boots and a well fitting waist coat, which all comes together with a pair of goggles and a wrist band.

    Background Story (At least two quality paragraphs):

    Born in the belly of the ship, the USS Defiance, and named after his mother, Alexis grew up helping his father do many odd jobs around the ship. Be it helping others move their belongings around to new quarters, assisting in building new bunks or putting on a fresh coat of paint onto the hull when the captain asked for it, but the real excitement came when Alexis's mother opened up a bar upon the ship, from there, the odd jobs became more focused around the bar. Starting as a dish washer but slowly moving up in the world as he grew older. From barman to manager, Alexis has been in every discipline when it comes to working in a bar.

    He's had his hand in the business side of things as well. Often bouncing ideas of his mother and father in an attempt to further grow the prosperity of the bar. Some have worked, some have failed. Each one has been a lesson to Alexis and from this he has learned to become a careful planner. He won't suddenly do something drastic unless he can see with certainty that it would benefit him. It is from working with others that Alexis has also learned to talk his way out of nearly anything. As one knows, it is very difficult to reason with a drunk.

    After a brief stop over in PerChille, Alexis's parents decided that they should retire. Leaving Alexis behind to do what he wanted. Which of course was to keep the bar running. When ever the USS Defiance stops over in Per Chille, Alexis goes off to visit them briefly, asking them for any advice on business and life in general.

    Excited to see if he can follow his parents legacy, Alexis stays on the ship in hopes of making a fortune large enough to retire in the same manner much like his parents did.

    Alexis's mother did inform him that he may have family on the ship, her sister had a son in United Greenland and a caretaker sent a letter saying he was attempting to board the USS Defiance if it were to return there. A cousin by the name of Warren. Alexis hopes to find him in good health and looks forward to meeting more of his family.

    Its more his style, not a life style (the whole steam punk get up). Much like those who dress up for it. Doesn't mean they actually live it, though if it is a problem I can easily change the skin.

    Defining characteristics and physical appearance: Tall, blonde and skinny. He has a taste for fashion and keeps a close style to that of steam puck. He wears goggles, for an added effect of his style.





    Strengths: Quick thinker, careful planner, Silver tongue.

    Weaknesses Not very strong, not a fighter, over confident, if he becomes angry he is uncontrollable and will most likely hurt himself before hurting anyone whose angered him, dry sense of humor.

    Background Story (At least two quality paragraphs):

    Born in the belly of the ship, the USS Defiance, and named after his mother, Alexis grew up helping his father do many odd jobs around the ship. Be it helping others move their belongings around to new quarters, assisting in building new bunks or putting on a fresh coat of paint onto the hull when the captain asked for it, but the real excitement came when Alexis's mother opened up a bar upon the ship, from there, the odd jobs became more focused around the bar. Starting as a dish washer but slowly moving up in the world as he grew older. From barman to manager, Alexis has been in every discipline when it comes to working in a bar.

    He's had his hand in the business side of things as well. Often bouncing ideas of his mother and father in an attempt to further grow the prosperity of the bar. Some have worked, some have failed. Each one has been a lesson to Alexis and from this he has learned to become a careful planner. He won't suddenly do something drastic unless he can see with certainty that it would benefit him. It is from working with others that Alexis has also learned to talk his way out of nearly anything. As one knows, it is very difficult to reason with a drunk.

    After a brief stop over in PerChille, Alexis's parents decided that should retire. Leaving Alexis behind to do what he wanted. Which of course was to keep the bar running. When ever the USS Defiance stops over in Per Chille, Alexis goes off to visit them briefly, asking them for any advice on business and life in general.

    Excited to see if he can follow his parents legacy, Alexis stays on the ship in hopes of making a fortune large enough to retire in the same manner much like his parents did.

    Alexis's mother did inform him that he may have family on the ship, her sister in United Greenland sent a letter saying her son was attempting to board the USS Defiance if it were to return there. A cousin by the name of Warren. Alexis hopes to find him in good health and looks forward to meeting more of his family.


    Rp Scenario (Two paragraphs, any scenario you'd like)


    Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:

    *Gets up from seat and moves over to bar*

    "Sir if you would please look into your cash register you would see the correct amount of coins given to you, by me, for this drink. Should you be short, know that it was someone else who has under paid you."

    "I don't know about you, but I've been here my entire life. Born and raised in this area. I used to play in and run down alleys and generally be a little kid. My parents, well they were here too. They ran the local bar their whole lives. Hell, they made it what it is today. You know they came here with nothing, nothing but the clothes on their backs and a few gold coins in my father's purse and from that they built up this bar."

    *He takes a moment to relive his childhood memories.*

    "It was thanks to my parents that I learnt how to run a business. It was thanks to them, that I have this Bar under my own name. It's thanks to them that I have a soft bed to sleep in. I'm proud of my parents and I'm sure as hell not going to disappoint them when it comes to this tavern!"

    *He slams down his drink on the table, small drops of cider spill over*

    "I fought for this place. Fought to get the tables you drink upon, fought to get the bread you eat. I've done all sorts that I shouldn't have. But I still have this bar because of it."

    *He takes a drink*

    "But this has all happened in the past, this is now."

    *He smiles*

    "Although its not always about my bar. I want to be able to have friends you know. Have regulars come in, talk about the weather, maybe even get some gossip that is roaming round the ship. Hell I could even help out some of the local archaeologists So long as the come past my bar for a drink afterwards. We could all have a laugh, get drunk sings songs till the morning, then drink some more. Sounds like a great idea actually."

    *He laughs*

    "I'm a curios person by nature, I like trying new things. So if you have an idea. Don't be a afraid to run it past me. I might even have a pointer or two for you."

    *He gets up from his seat*

    "So what will it be? We don't forget our old shipmates after all."
