posted a message on Skin Downloader v0.6 - 1.8+ and Previous Compatibility!

[edit](This program does not 'update' the skin to 1.8's layout, I just set my skin to this for testing purposes.)

    Changes
    • UI Overhaul
    • Skin preview is no longer blurry
    • Removed instant viewing (Caused many problems because .NET handles web connections horrendously)
    • Added preview scaling (Does not change size of saved skin, just the preview.)
    • Added 1.8+ skin compatibility - characters without a new layout skin will look stretched in the preview if you have 1.8+ selected, but the output file is fine.
    • Fixed the problem with the window locking up when loading the preview, another .NET problem. :\
    • Probably more!
I know I'll get asked if I don't put this here, so
Pressing 'Save' saves the skin to \Skins\ where Skin Download v0.6.exe is, so if I had it on my desktop and hit save, it would save the skin to "C:\Users\XinwxHleak\Desktop\Skins\<USERNAME>.png" If it's requested for a save dialog (Save To... window) I'll just change it, but this way seems to be easier to use.
Just to clarify, v0.6 isn't an arbitrary version, it's just that the last update (v0.5.1) was in 2011.

Awesome work! :D I'll be sure to look into this interesting rendering mechanic... and, would you mind if I used this line in my mod?

Uhm, yeah, I don't mind. I didn't really do much, so go for it. :)

Is there a reason you want it to use forge? I've never bothered using it, so I don't know if it breaks non-forge mods or something.

    Sure, in net.minecraft.block there's BlockDynamicLiquid.java, at line 120(ish) there's
    *garbage*.setBlock(*garbage*,*garbage*,*garbage*, Blocks.stone);

    For me it was exactly
    p_149674_1_.setBlock(p_149674_2_, p_149674_3_ - 1, p_149674_4_, Blocks.stone);

I added "&& stoneToggle" to the if that it is in, and just had stoneToggle set to false because I don't have an actual GUI button for it yet. You could get the same result with just removing the setBlock line, without the boolean capability of course.

Haha, I removed the smooth stone creation and uncovered some peculiar physics.

I was hoping that the lava would stay above the water, but this actually seems nicer. Nicer? Anyway, as if the lava is actually boiling away the water or something.

Wow, I remember why I loved doing this.

I agree with the options, mattrocks, but that will be a task for a far less tired me. I remember I used to hate having to mess with saving to a file, maybe there's a better built in way or something now. Or I'll remember how I did it before, I dunno.

The placeholder toggle works well, and does nothing to the previously placed lava.

Do you want this to also stop smooth stone ( :stone: ) from being created?

    --Edit
Also, something like this will only work on single player, hopefully that's what you want it for.

posted a message on 1.7.2 Ip shower mod
I've been out of modding for over a year, and decided to ease back in with doing this simple mod for you! After figuring out the new 'versions' thing with the minecraft jars, it was done like that.

Now, it is... quickly made, so if a MOTD spills over into the next line, it may (probably will) be over top of the IP. I couldn't get to actually do this, as I do not know a server with that long of a MOTD. I could work it out, if it does become a problem for you.

posted a message on 1.7.4 is slow
I'm having the same problem, I can run any other Minecraft version with completely maxed out settings and get at least 80 FPS, but I can't get more than 50 (Even with VSync and FPS Limiter off/set to unlimited) in 1.7.4. Amplified or not, no settings make the FPS any better.

    Edit

I turned of Anti-Aliasing in AMD Catalyst Control Center and I'm getting 300+ FPS. I guess Minecrafts built in AA conflicts with it.

One small question: Did you ran updatemcp like your cmd output asked?

After I took that screenshot, yes, so what does it matter?

Because the first time you downloaded the files you needed, and by the way it says updates need to be downloaded. Please be more aware of what your CMDs actually do...

    ..........
    I know I said I wouldn't respond again, buuuut....

The update was from the day I took the screenshot, 2 days after I fixed it. It's not like I'm going to download the update and take a new screenshot just for you. >_>

The screenshot (other than that day's update and the time it took) is exactly the same as when I decompiled it the first time, so no, it didn't download something.
    So uh, yeah.

    ...

You keep missing what I tell you. In the black CMD screen that pops up, it downloads extra libraries and source for you to work with, during this process it is possible for the source to be corrupted during download if your internet is not stable or too slow or any other unforeseen reason. Only way I can say to fix this is to re-download your mcp or forge into an entirely new folder, and re-install it so it can attempt to re-download the files correctly.

We are talking about different things it seems. I am NOT using forge or modloader (as I said), it doesn't download anything. I didn't redownload anything, I simply deleted 'src' and decompiled again, this is more or less exactly the cmd window that I got when I decompiled for the second time and it worked.
So no. I didn't redownload anything.
    I'm not responding again.

That was my advice posted earlier, aka start with a new folder or redownload it as in redeompiling was implied.

    "So yea" you followed it.

    I didn't (re)download anything. :|

"You didn't download the scala library when installing is one problem and second problem is that you have logical errors or plain errors in your code."

"Your scala-library.jar is added in when the install.cmd is run. Start with a new folder and a fresh start and install it again and make sure it all downloads. The scala-library is a big file and if not all of it downloads then it will corrupt and will not exist causing major recompile issues."
    -no install.cmd

"It isn't a bug, it because your internet connection is too slow and it times out or your internet connection isn't stable and cuts off in the middle of the download of that jar file."
-jar? I think you were talking about modloader/forge here, so that's why I was confused

"... download forge and hit install... You will save yourself hours of trouble... "

Your internet can be fast but not stable, I recommend starting with an empty folder and trying again because Xinwx followed my advice. Everything should work properly if your path is set up correctly but the bat is running so this shouldn't be your problem, then if the download doesn't corrupt then the files should run correctly. Your files I can guarantee you were interrupted in some way.

I didn't follow your advice, I just decompiled the source code again. There is no "download" with just MCP. I don't use Modloader or Forge, so yeah.

Is this solved if it is please mark as [SOLVED] I say this because it looks like you found the answer.

It looks like OP is still confused, "Anyways, I'm still confused about this." and I still have no idea what's wrong with my problem. I'm in the same situation as OP except I'm not using modloader.

    Edit

I decompiled a new src folder, copied my edited files into it, recompiled, and it works. I guess when I decompiled the first time something messed up. OP, maybe this will help you. :)
