posted a message on This is why I hate AdFly!
    Quote from CaptnNorway

I know why you would dislike it if it almost gave you a virus. It gave me that damn babylon ****, but that's of topic. Adfly is a great site for us minecrafters. It normaly is safe and it's only a 5 seccond wait, if you can't wait through that, I don't know what's wrong with you. And it pay the modders and texturepack and map makers a little bit for their hard work. Imagne a guy like vechz who spend hours of his life to build awesome map's for us ... and that he wouldn't get anything from it? Or all the modders and texturepack makers who sits up all night after an update so we can get what we want as fast as possible? So I think adfly is a great site and a cool way to help all the great guy's around the world to justify useing so much of thier sparetime.

You know, the problem with that is people have been spending hours of their lives modding games for years, decades even, and yet- do you see anyone outside the Minecraft community that uses Adfly to pseudo-force downloaders to give them ad revenue? These teams have optional donate buttons/links at most. Are Minecraft modders more "deserving" of money for their mods than modmakers for every other game or just greedier? Perhaps thinking on that will give a bit more insight into why adfly usage is somewhat unpopular.

    Released! Get it here:
    [Download]
The whole product proved to be too ambitious a venture for one man to do, and far too many things went wrong with everything during development, so here it is, released in the current state. Everything necessary to play the map is included in the .zip file.

posted a message on Why does F no longer render????
As stated previously, F3 + F. Also, Escape > Options > Video Settings > Render distance. The latter's been in the game for ages. How was removing the F button's usage of this parameter ever an issue?

    UPDATE:
There was a bit of a corruption in the main world, so the nether is now part of a separate world and can only be accessed in the endgame portion of the map.

    Other changes:
    -More audiologs completed.
-Some "real time" conversations (think NPC conversations from Oblivion or Fallout 3/NV, but without choices because I don't have a way to implement that in this engine) done.
    -A couple more cutscenes created.
-Work on dungeons continues. Endgame dungeon pretty much complete, and main quest dungeon #1 has its basic layout done. You can view its building here:

I occasionally livestream bits of building, allowing for a preview of some of the map:
A playable beta of the map may be released in the foreseeable future.

A few preview pictures of the castle, taken at night so as to not give too much away, and because I like the lighting:

    Official trailer/opening cinematic:
    Official Site
Planned features include: limited number of cutscenes, audiologs, journal entries, maps, custom music, ending boss fight, large pre-made world with a multitude of locations to explore, some of which include vital clues that will aid the player in discovering just what happened to this once-peaceful village.

    SUMMARY:

The town of Riverdale was well known for being a prosperous trading port, rich with glowstone roads, the continent’s first rail system, and large buildings made of rare materials. You and your fellow traders set sail to the village in hopes of making a fortune selling your wares. When you wake up on arrival, you find most of your crew missing.
(For SP: all of your crew is missing. For MP: Everybody who isn't in your MP party is missing.)
Stranger still is the sheer lack of wind. The boat is unmoving, as if it were frozen in place. You fear you may have slept through the docking, but find none of the supplies on the ship have been moved. Glancing from the upper deck, the town seems completely empty, no activity in sight but a few roaming animals. You gather a bit of gear and prepare to find out just what the hell has happened to this legendary village.

    Rules:
-Since this is a free roaming, non-linear map, the usual “don’t break blocks” rule doesn’t apply.
-Tools are available and plenty usable.
-Restrictions/exceptions apply to: Lava, areas sealed by an iron door, dungeons.
-Lava works differently in this world (via these rules). You cannot place blocks in it to create a path, and you cannot pick it up with buckets (you’ll burn your arm off!). Anyone who could perform that feat is long gone. You are allowed to place blocks above lava levels, though.
-Cutscenes, audiologs, notes, external maps, and signs are in this for a reason. They're integral to the story and must be read, listened to, or viewed.
*All of these but signs are to be accessed when prompted in the game world to do so.
-Play on Hard to balance the large amount of supplies available.
-Co-op is supported, and even encouraged.
-Usage of the included texture pack is also required as it contains necessary modifications for the theme of the adventure and custom paintings for scenery elements.
-INTERACTION WITH PAINTINGS IS FORBIDDEN. Paintings are used for scene imagery to go along with the storyline.
-It's fairly open ended. Whether or not you've succeeded in completing the main quest line, the village is yours for the taking.
-Fully usable for SMP server usage. In addition to co-op, an RP server or similar is encouraged.
-Usage of TooManyItems or another inventory editor are acceptable in this specific circumstance: when sleeping in a bed to set your spawn point. This basically makes the game work as a normal save system. Inventory editors may ONLY be used in this way for this mod.

Dungeons, denoted by an iron door(except within the village itself), have an altered rule set.
-Building bridges above lava flows is disallowed.
-Usage of tools to mine walls, floors, ceilings, other obstacles is forbidden.
-Placing blocks to bridge your way over jumps is forbidden.
-No using TNT to "unlock" doors.

This is a work in progress map, with a release date of "when it's done". More likely than not, it will be released after Minecraft's final version is, so as to be able to implement any new game features.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you don't. It's an advertisement. It's where the money comes from. Stare at it for the five seconds it takes to count down then hit the "skip ad" button. Simple.

posted a message on whoesle it NOT going to update?
Why should bugfixes and new features make somebody want to not update? Unless you rely on bugs and glitches (and refuse to admit they are bugs and glitches to try to justify your abusing of them)and can't adapt that is.

A dragon. Nobody said it had to be an animal that was proven to exist.

    Otherwise, none.

    Quote from Ryanpatton

I never thought about this. My little brother always used to seem gay, until about 8 when he told me he liked a girl in his school.

How did he "seem" gay? The only way I can think of is acting effeminate and/or showing signs of the stereotype of homosexuals, both being traits straight males are able to have.

You are actually trolling right now, posting stuff that some people will hate just to get attention and a few laughs. Go die in a freaking hole. End of discussion.

Actually, it seems you're the one "trolling". Or, more realistically, being a white knight for mr. "give me a free account" and making up ******** claims to try to invalidate opposing viewpoints. Just stop.

Calming down would help too. Telling someone to die over the internet is a sign of absolutely unnecessary aggression and immaturity which will get you nowhere in life.

What's the point of this topic?

Simply enough, it's yet another "the minecraft forums are totally a place to post personal blogs, right?" thread.

Kids aren't taught patience these days. They want everything ASAP. We live in the age of instant gratification, and what a terrible age it is.

are you f**king kidding me? What are you ? Mexican?

Hey, no need to start discriminating against a nationality because people won't give you a free account for a video game. And you wonder why people won't give it to you.

posted a message on Is this a good fort for defence?
It could use some more convenient arrow-firing positions, but overall it seems well enough. More than sufficient to beat SSP attacks, but SMP may need a few changes, if you were to build a similar fort in an SMP server.

    Quote from Nbord »
Oh, stop bitching. In the general use of the word, less frames per second = lag.

    Yes.

Who's bitching? Also, if by "general use of the word" you mean "the way it's used by people ignorant of the actual definition", the sure.
