DivineRPG has a bug with a specific achievement: Eye Of Evil
You have to delete your stats folder, but....
that will also delete the achivements you got while playing..
    Oh! Alright, gotcha!
And that did, in fact, fix the issue, thank you.

I had read that there was a bug with that achievement, but when I got it in game, it didn't crash, so I was a little confused. Now I understand that it will crash when trying to load the game up, as opposed to while playing.

Thanks a bunch, and for the fast reply.

Hey! Fun mod. Good to see it's being worked on.
I have just started having an issue though, and I have no idea why.
I've been running this mod, along with some others, for the last 2 weeks now, but just now, today, it won't load minecraft and instead crashes.

Literally, last night I was playing, and it was working fine, then today I try to load up minecraft and it gives me this crash report. Though, sometimes, it just returns to the launcher screen from the Mojang screen with no explanation.

I went and updated Java, but that didn't help. And I've been running it as a LAN world, which my brothers have been connecting to.
They also cannot load minecraft now, with the same mods installed.

    Any thoughts?

posted a message on Server only working on LAN, not external
So I know there are half a billion posts about this, but none of the solutions are working for me.

It started just a few days ago: the server I am hosting WAS working just fine, and now it won't allow anyone not on my LAN network to connect.

I think my router reset (no idea why that would have happened), but my port forwarding and such was erased. I went back into my router and set up the port forwarding again, doublechecked firewall settings, and the works, but no one can connect using my external IP, only those on the LAN network can connect using internal IP address. The server list says simply, Cannot reach server, and when I try to connect anyway, I get the wonderful error:

Failed to connect to the server
    Connection timed out: connect

I've used a port checker and confirmed the port is open, and even though I haven't changed my server settings since I started the server, for information's sake, the server port setting is 25565 and the server ip setting is left blank. And once again, firewalls are fine (and haven't changed since it was working a few days ago).

The only thing that changed was my router's apparent complete reset. My SSID was back to default, as was our password. I had to rename and change the password to connect again, and like I said, I then had to port forward again.

    Any ideas?

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! Actually, it would be very very simple to make it emit light when in belt, but I thought it is more fun and horror-like as when you encounter creature, you either need to smack it with lantern, or switch to sword, fighting in darkness.

But I might create new version where this could be toggleable option :)
Well, I'd certainly like such a version, but that is an interesting take on it, for sure. Heheh, smacking things with lanterns.

I think the only way this could be better is if there were a way to have it produce light when simply on the hotbar, like hanging from a belt or carried in your off-hand or something... It's amazing, but switching to a weapon for fighting instantly makes it dark lol. Same thing when switching to tools for mining or the like.

Love it though. AND it's even updated. Props to you, Reaper.

    Quote from ajpuleo

Okay, so I've been having problems with this mod, and I can't seem to find anywhere else that will tell me how to fix them, so I've decided to come here to spew off my problems to the minecraft community ;) Here goes:

First let me say that this mod seems awesome, and from what I've played, it is. I've encountered a few problems though, as is the case when I try to do anything outside of vanilla minecraft... Not the point! So, when I loaded it up on my server, everything was running fine, and animals were spawning a lot more frequently (Which was awesome, our spawn and home base is in the Taiga biome, and we hadn't seen even ONE wolf there for the whole couple months we've had this server, I've found 4 after this mod in a day). My brother and I decided to test it and go "hunting" at night, but when the sun went down there was an unpleasant surprise. There were HOARDS of monsters, but the big part was that they were spawning in groups of 4-5. Maybe this is by design (Is this how it was before 1.9? I've only played 1.4.2 and on, so I don't know), but it doesn't seem right to me that every night I'm surrounded by 4 werewolves, a group of 5 giants, and 2 golems on either side of me. We literally couldn't do anything that night except hide because there were just too many mobs. I'm all for more frequent mob spawning, but we were in full Iron and had a few iron swords and the three of us (My sis was with us too) were pulverized before the night was over, every single one of us died.

So, I noticed in the global mods setting, I could play with a lot of the spawning options, but I don't know what half of these options are. We did some tests to try and fix it, and we found that if we turned everything's spawning frequency down to one, and the maximum allowed mobs to around ten to twenty, it kind of fixed our problem. Now we're running into not finding very much of anything.

My real question hidden in this jumbled mess of "I stayed up till 6 A.M. last night trying to fix this" writing is this: Is there a way I can turn mob spawning to be how it is in Vanilla minecraft, to where things will spawn frequently, but not in big groups of each mob. It's simply because we can't handle fighting two golems at once while there are 3 werewolves right next to them. Is this happening to anyone else?

    Thanks ahead of time.

I'm one of the players/admins of this home server and while I don't mean to pester, I would like to see what someone has to say about this. We changed the server config, but must have set it all too low, as now virtually nothing spawns, but when some DOES spawn, it still seems to be in clusters. Is this by design? Should 4 Ogres or 3 Golems spawn all at once right next to each other? Can I change this lol?

posted a message on Server hosting woes
I know this is a little old, but I wanted to post about what came of this (since mojang's migrated accounts refuse to connect to servers anyway right now).

    @Chmorin
I agree that it was probably a Hamachi problem, but as I stated in the OP, it wasn't a matter of not know/learning how to port forward (as I know HOW to), it was a matter of my router's limited ability to do so.

    Quote from PythonPhoenixx3

    XenZan,

Just an afterthought you are NOT lazy for not port forwarding. Hamachi is just a simple way to connect to a server. Anyways, this is a Minecraft or Hamachi issue. This has been happening to many people, so I suggest contacting Mojang about it.

Sorry That I Could Not Help,
    Pythonphoenixx3
Thank you. Just... thank you. lol.
Whenever I even mention it on forums I usually just get that kind of reaction, but I'm glad it's not everyone.

As for the fix, I wound up getting a new router and did end up having to port forward. I tried to set up a static IP and it sort of works, but only for computers on the same wireless network. My external IP apparently still changes (and rather frequently) so that any of my friends that want on the server have to constantly ask for the IP, sometimes even multiple times a day.

Ultimately, it works, more or less, but just not very conveniently without Hamachi, since the IP keeps changing. Anyone know how to make my external IP static so people not on my wireless network don't have to input a new one every x hours?

    Still not working.
It seems to come and go.

It also seems primarily to happen to migrated/Mojang accounts.

I feel badly for people who migrated (and people like me who had no choice). The Mojang login servers seem not to function very well.

Also, the help.mojang.com site says all systems go, green lights everywhere, despite it still not working. Minecraftstatus.com also is giving me the thumbs up, so why can I not connect to servers? Clearly it isn't working, so why say it is?

Always with the Bad Login errors.... ugh.
Normally just closing the client works, but not even that or retyping passwords/unchecking the remember password option makes a difference. Pretttty unsatisfied.

posted a message on Server hosting woes
Okay, so I know there are half a billion topics about not being able to run servers properly and others not being able to join, but each of these are generally unique cases and I am truly stumped.

I had difficulty early on even getting the server to work, but finally managed to. It worked fine for a good month.

We used Hamachi to handle port forwarding, had it all set up properly, worked fine.
Then, the other night (the 19th I believe), hamachi did their update, moving their server addresses from the 5 range to the 25 range or however you say that. Basically, every hamachi IP address changed from 5.x.x.x to 25.x.x.x

Okay, cool, no problem. So I go into server.properties and change the IP to reflect the new hamachi IP and have everyone in the network input the new server IP into the multiplayer minecraft area with add server and whatnot... But only the host computer can join the server. The rest of the machines simply poll forever before stating Cannot Connect to Server with a red X.

From my standpoint, I did everything necessary (which wasn't much) to simply migrate the server to a new IP. Yet, it doesn't work.

We waited until update 1.4.5 was officially released, uninstalled EVERYTHING (hamachi, minecraft, the server folders, etc) and reinstalled/downloaded everything, setting it all up the way we originally did. Still won't work.

So I gave up on hamachi and did some research and arrived at remobo. Same deal here, it sets up a private network, assigns virtual IPs, etc. Same deal with it not working either. I don't know what changed so suddenly that all of our server hosting ability went down. We can still connect to, say, public servers, and even LAN, but our own hosted servers do not function.

On a somewhat related note, my laptop (not the subject of the aforementioned issues) cannot host a server at all, it seems, running either hamachi or remobo. The server.exe runs fine, and the log says "Done!" but when I add it to the server list, it polls and find nothing. This could be an entirely different problem source, but it COULD host prior to the hamachi IP migration. At least the other computer is able to join its own hosted server.

I just don't get it. Anybody care to help me?
And please don't tell me to "stop being lazy and port forward". I know it isn't extremely complicated, but the router used in my house can only forward a port once, for one machine only. So the other computers in the house would not be able to forward that port. Hence, it was never an option.

    Thanks.

Hamachi changed some of their servicing around today so, you're Hamachi IPv4 address for Minecraft, etc. got changed. You'll have to update the IP address in server.properties for the server and edit the IP address for your server list in Multiplayer Minecraft.
I was going to reccommend this, but I've run into another problem. After doing this, the host computer can connect to the server, but the other computers on the network can't even find it. Any ideas?

posted a message on Friends Can't Reach Server! Hamachi Tekkit
Just today logmein hamachi had their IPs migrated to a different section. They now have 25. as the starting number of all their IPs, so you'll likely have to change the server IP in the properties and change the actual IP you are trying to connect to in the multiplayer menu.

Just check your IPs and make sure they're all matching properly.

Oddly enough, though, I am having the problem of other computers in my hamchi network not being able to connect to the server, even after making these changes. The host computer can connect fine, but none of the others in the hamachi network seem to even find the server.

    Any ideas?

I agree. I was concerned at first, but when it happened to me, my brother, and my friend all at once, I was less concerned it was hacking and more concerned about what was happening with our accounts. I mean, I just bought the thing, and now it was hacked? But I am also glad it doesn't seem to be mischief of that nature. Just good old login server issues.

Well, it's been a few days now, and I apologize for the delay in posting, but I wanted to do some extensive testing. It appears that my problems have gone. I just hope I haven't just jynxed myself. It seems that downloading 64-bit Java was the key, and I did do a little tweaking of making processes default to the NVIDIA GPU, even though supposedly it should have defaulted to that anyway. Still not sure exactly what the fixer was, but it seems to be working now.

Thanks to everyone who helped out, I really appreciate it.
