How about we deviate from the topic on Minecrafts situation until it happens. Personally, I'm not to pleased but let's focus on Mod, community and Minecrafts overall development.

I still play this mod, I always go for a Vulpix, and name it after a life long friend I've known for a long part of my childhood.

I can't wait till breeding arrives. I know it's been brought up a lot of times, but I can't wait to be able to raise Pok'emon as hatchlings ^w^

Just build myself a fenced Ranch, setup nesting and nurture them till they are ready to hatch, and watch them wander and explore ^_^ Let them wander wildly in my coral, maybe tame a few of them.

It's part of the mod, not a separate download. You have to enable it in the config.

That does sound fun, though with my luck he'd fall off a cliff or into some lava while we were adventuring. That's what always happened to my traveling trunks anyway.

Just script him to warp around like a dog, and make also, for balance, give the player a tough choice between cores that allow the golem to avoid or deal with certain dangers while following the players, or giving the golem some beneficial boost. And allow/not allow the golem to hold any enchanted items.

Like... The basis of a sort-of "Companion" golem is that he needs either a, or just as, Adventurer core.

Then the basic Order, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, or Entropy can alter how the golem deals with what he is given.

I guess... maybe an example off the top of my head, is that a Golem Fire core will allow the golem to steer clear of lava. Earth core makes the Golem resist knock back of any, or of most sources (Wind, incredibly strong blows, etc.) Air allows the Golem to avoid falling from tall heights that could injure or kill it, forcing it to find a path down and take drops that won't hurt it. Water allows the Golem to swim out of pools of water, Entropy allows the golem to attack even creepers by following a simple pattern of attacking, staying close enough for a brief moment, and running away. Order teaches the Golem to attack what the player is attacking, otherwise with the core, it'll attack any hostile the moment they target it or the player.

Maybe alternate Primal cores made just for the "Adventurer Core" that give some benefit with some other downside, like making its attacks stronger at the cost of shorter detection sight, moving out of the way when it senses a oncoming projectile unless there isn't much room, etc.

I'm having trouble getting ender shards. (Haven't tried nether shards yet, so I don't know if my problem extends to them) I've been killing endermen in the end, both by hand, and using an mfr grinder over a spawnpad I built beyond spawning range of the main island. At this point I have 15k ender pearls in my AE system, and not one shard. Any ideas what the problem could be, and if this is intended behaviour, how I can get the shards?

    Thanks

You have to kill them by blade, there is no way to automate it.

If every secret were ever told, the magic and mystery would quickly grow old.

If things remained unknown and unspoken, we would not grow bored, grow mean spirit and cause things to shatter and be broken.

T'is best that if the grandest or what few remains a mystery, life becomes more worthwhile, then from knowing everything and living in misery.

Hm... you know? I know people ask for a form of summoning or pets...

But what would be nice is some kind of wand or instrument like a leash, that can let you take control of strong/powerful/array or weaker creatures to a limited extent. Be nice to turn a giant angry Zombie on its own kind rather then let it go nuts on me, or put those Wisps to good use rather then letting several type's zap me to death.

Maybe that instrument can be used on magically enchanted constructs that let you guide it from a view point. To attack in some way and act as a sort of wall, defense mechanism or for extra footing. The Scepter of Commanding from LOZ: Twilight Princess kinda scream's Thaumotology but I'm not sure how it could be implemented in some way.

If you have went under alot of experiments in the field of Thaum, you would have come across a form, or several forms of placing control over inanimate objects, animals & creatures, and some powerful and/or strong beings/monsters to an limited extent.

Hm... You know? Its too bad you cannot Enlist a electrical pok'emon unto a platform that absorbs their electrical power to power machines. The level and how a Pok'emon is raised determines how much power a Pok'emon can churn. Perhaps a Caraft and small fountain placed near them to keep them fed and Hydrated.

Or perhaps a craftable item that charges when held by a pok'emon. That charges based on how many steps taken. Perhaps special batteries for electric pok'emon to hold that powers it up over time. And Pc's, HEaling tables and whatever new gadgets and gizmos have a Battery slot interace. PErhaps different quality of "power sources" determine for how many Ingame days it can stay on?

Understood, Sage Harpuia. And do not, worry. I hear you loud and clear, maybe if the idea is well favored as it is or when it has been broken down into something more acceptable that fits with Thaum's nature, Till then, I do not have high expectations. I just hope I can contribute something that will help. =) I'm patient as always~

    Alright~

Summoning. Alright, this has been wrung dry as a suggestion in alot of threads. but hear me out, please.

I was trying out the Feed the Beast mod and I took a shine to several new creatures in the twilight forest. What fascinated me was the book able to fling paper at you. And the strange fire flies just glimmering against any surface they perch themselves on.

...The twilight realm. Summoning. You know, the act of summoning should not always be a dark act considering the nature of minecraft and Thaum is that there is good magic, and bad magic. Usually its just powers by any other name and kind. Like summoning should not always be about evil creatures requires dark and sanity-testing rituals just to bring about some evil demi-god.

Look at it from this perspective: To us, a summoned creature or sentient being as to whatever it might be is just some over powered God or some weapon of mass destruction. What if their just as human as where they reside, as we do here. But to them being in our realm, they are heralded as either good or bad creatures/beings with strange, Powerful, or strong powers, gifts and abilities (etc). Where they are, their powers are identical (sometimes a bit different) Like the rest of their kind, or as their kind existing with other species among their realm. Like to us here in our world were human among one another.

What if the summoning of interesting Beings and creatures simply takes the effort to "ask" for their help, using means to bring them into our world for a time being or indefinitely with certain conditions are met, and leaving when they want to. But instead of just getting them at the get go or make the player do a outrageous things ... ... ... Just to summon a creature one would surmise to be weak or not helpful.

Simply put, The player can summon creatures by contacting them through means of communication. Rather then having to worship it like a god or sacrifice your soul to only let it vanquish a enemy thats the weakest out of a entire hoarde... then vanish, You talk and interact with it.

With what means? Well alot can be considered. Maybe a item you can use through crafting. Maybe from obtaining a certain block or item that can be placed about your home, or maybe a item you simply you could use with your right click.

The better Idea I had in mind is that the summoned creature in their own realms and dimensions have discovered ways to interact with our world, and theirs. How about they simply take a "interest" when they discover us and leave a little something for us to discover? Maybe like a Mermaid summon leaves being a Hair clip shaped like a lil' Clam because she discovers something of interest in you, or what you're doing. Say like you're building a small pool. you hear a odd sound... ... ... Why is their a clam sitting on the ground? This isnt normally from the vanilla Minecraft. Something seem's odd about this clam, it looks like a Hair clip... And I think I hear voices, sounds like a woman. Very pretty voice too...

As you discover their little trinkets, toys and place-able objects, you begin the relationship (Not romantic, as in a friendship) with a summon, well rather whatever they are called from their homeworld. The item alone won't help. as usual, requirements must be met. Just ponder that a bit since I mentioned a Mermaid-like summon, Just to bring her immediately would result in her being land-locked. Plus she would not appreciate it and could sour first-impressions. What say with a Hair clip, you had to put it on a special-made stand around a specified constructed pool of water. Whether its like say, the requirements say it needs to be 3x3. and 2 blocks deep, you simply wait... In due time a portal will open (Or they appear like so, depends if summons should have their own unique entrance.) and they will simply fly, crawl or fall out. In this case, the Mermaid-like summon would swim from the portal to her homeworld, right into the pool.

Now you're thinking, When can I summon her for battle or anything useful!? *Baps you with a paper fan* Be patient. If this was addressing someone in real life if summons and other sentient beings from another world. It is still considered Rude. =)

Course for the first time a summon visit your world for the first time, they will grant you with a secondary item which allows you to summon them where ever you are. Most likely they will let you summon avatars or look-alikes of themselves depending on their nature, how much they trust you, and/or if your someone whos looking to develop that friendship with them.

Several Pro's and Cons I have come up with is:

    (-Pro's-)

-Summons each have unique powers, strength's, weaknesses, and authorities over many different aspects.

-Summons follow you where ever you go (to a extent) while when unsummoned, they reside in the lil patch of heaven you created for them. Sometimes they may go home and come back another time.

-Summons may grant certain buffs, they may give you gifts and/or take you to their home world to see!

-As you develop the relationship between you and your summon's, they become alot stronger, faster, resilient and/or powerful. New attacks, buffs and other things unlock as the relationship gets stronger.

-Some summons perform alot better when in a biome their comfortable with.

-most or few summons can be asked to alter their tactics when combat ensues.

-Most summons are smart and some can help with every day tasks a normal Minecraftian does in peculiar and helpful ways!

-They won't die, but should they be wounded greatly, they will return home to recover.

    (-Con's-)

-Summons with a sour relationship with you will sometimes not help you, and will get weaker.

-Some summons just cannot survive in certain biomes. Some most likely will have adverse effects on them or become wounded.

-Though they won't die, as said they will return home. But they will be gone for a whole day to recover, some summons have a longer or shorter recovery time.

-Even with a exceptionally healthy relationship with a summon, constant summoning will result in diminishing returns. (they can get irritated or exhausted you know. Some summons over look this depending on certain conditions) (Debatable)

-Their secondary and primary summoning items are their means of "Anchor" to this world. The secondary power uses the power from the crystals to allow summoning, so it must be charged after a long or short amount of use, some may require alot of magic power to summon a more powerful, stronger or complex being/creature. If their primary "anchor", however, gets destroyed. They will be sent back from where they came, and will have to wait if they are able to send their "trinket" again to establish a anchor. That means from simply removing it, to flat out letting a natural disaster or Aggressive mob get at it. Once their gone for sometime, you cannot summon them.

-Even if there is stronger, more powerful or more interesting tiers of monsters, they are "equal" in a sense. And each has their own abilities, powers, gifts, etc to offer in whatever situation there is. Some however do not just run on Magical power from the crystals, some need a number of enemies slain, or need a specific number of items "sent" to them to get their help till a healthier relationship is established, till then they will try to interact with you, but by nature or what strange reasons, they may offer some strange services, or their normal powers and such on the field is when they are given a certain quantity of items. (Think Yojimbo from Final fantasy X where giving him a certain amount of gil, and basing your relationship for summoning him a number of times results in him using more powerful attacks, or a One-hit Ko move that works on any enemies *except bosses or specifically some enemies unaffected by one-hit kill moves.*) Generally some need more requirements to suit the need to use anything that they have to help with the situation.

-Summons need to eat, sleep, and partake in activities that they do from their home world. so don't expect to "summon them all". Usually you can have one or two summons to work with, but they have needs, and need interaction from you. Trying to be friend them all may take you away from what you want to do, or what you need to. Its best to find a summon that suits your game style. Like the Mermaid needs a chest near her Water hole filled with fish, every new morning she will take a fish to eat for her day. Same can be for if there was Golem-like summons that need cobblestone or some mineral to eat. Some need to sleep and hinder your ability to summon them when they need it, course any aggressive mob near their lil patch of heaven will suffer dearly, and be dealt with swiftly whether they are asleep or not. Till then, you may wanna look towards Nocturnal summons in the case.

-Summons, in general, do not like a jackass. Expect to suffer if you intend to make them suffer.

    ---Summons---

I have not come up with much of Anything, but I guess we can bring the Mermaid-like summon up.

(Hm... Lets see.... ah! Here is one example:)

    -(Sapphire)-
    Summon Anchor: Clam hairclip
    Summoning item: Star-patterned Pearl
Strength's: Her magic and Tail attack increase when in bodies of water, outside of water will hinder her ability to fight.
Weaknesses: Is not too keen to being on land. Will be rendered almost immobile while it finds a body of water to get into. Does not like fire attacks, lava or any creature capable of poisoning her.
Power: Can create a block of water to spawn where you ask her to place it
Attacks: -Fire's a range water bubble that bursts when it hits a enemy, doing 4 hearts of damage, and 2 hearts of damage to any hit in the blast radius. Is able to shake a endermen of its pearl, but does not always work.
-Can use her tail to hit foes that get to close when they try to chase her in the water. Does one heart of damage but creates a powerful Knockback II effect.
-Can summon several fish to leap out of the water and do Half-drawn arrow damage to any aggressive mob that gets assailed on.
    Relationship-wise:
Likes: Anyone who swims with her, walks along with her along any beach she is next to, and loves receiving Sapphires! Roses set along her lil' Patch of heaven or any found along the water side!
Dislikes: Endermen, Lava, fire, poison-type enemies. Hates swamp water and will express her hatred for it.
    Diet: Fish, cooked fish.

Hm... I wonder if Some pokemon can do unique things or do unique animations and such every now and then.

Like find a Mankey rob a cobblestone or Stick from your chest if you weren't looking.

See a Caterpie climbing up surfaces as it moves about.

Find a meowth dancing from the ground to high spots. Be funny to find the lil bugger dancing ontop of your house.

Fish pokemon sometimes surfacing to squirt water into the air or at you, slightly knocking you back but doing no damage.

Sometimes Pokemon evolving on the spot like finding a Slowpoke going fishing with its tail. Watch it for a while and *boop!* It jumps as a lil Shellder is clamped onto his tail. He suddenly becomes a Slowpoke and continues about his day.

Sometimes Oddish hiding in the ground and if any pokemon or you get close-- It pops right out of the ground, makes some cheery jumps and wonders around like usual.

Maybe some fighting pokemon like Machamp will Hold a block taken from a tree (except player placed blocks) above their head with feats of strength!

Pokemon fighting now and then amongst themselves.

Kakuna's, Metapods and other cacoon pokemon that sometimes hang from a string, will waver back and forth like as though the gentle breeze rocks them, hanging there from a block that lets them hang off the ground.

Pokemon sometimes getting mad for no reason at your presence, like Primeapes, would jump with fury with a blood vein mark on their foreheads, would jump to a out of reach spot and throw Chestnuts at you, they do no damage but they will chuck one if you get too close. Chucking one back can either make it angry again and throw one back, Make it happy and come down cause its impressed with your aim. Or scuttle away in fear.

    Sometimes larger then normal Bellsprouts.

Maybe Alakazam's or Kadabra's sometimes greeting you face to face with a quiz, answering correctly means a gift or a buff. Answering wrongly means they just disappear. (to prevent farming)

Maybe when planting your crops or a tree sapling, a Mew will come by and cause it to grow!

Sometimes when you just walking along, a Latios or Latias can be seen Speeding through the sky, they might stop mid-flight near lakes for a drink and conversation amoung pokemon.

Some Dark pokemon turn slightly invisible when its night or in a dark spot and try to appear infront of you to give you a scare, or just to surprise you.

Maybe meowth's will use payday on their enemies and leave a Yen behind.

Maybe a Seaking will let you ride it freely *unless you hurt it, which it'll run away or hop angrily*

You know, alot to see that goes on around you while you play. makes it interesting, when your relaxing for the day, you have a reason to look out your glass window and see it full of life.

Maybe a Snorlax that if you try to wake it up, it just wobbles, makes its grunting call and continues to sleep.

posted a message on [1.2.5] The Official PokeMobs
    Quote from Prof. Stein.

    -snip-

Im sorry, Prof. Stein, but i have taken into the decision to have you reported for, regardless of what your intentions and approach is, is quite deemed as over demanding. And well... Seems like your in a hurry and somewhat of a jerk.

I will however politely ask to either leave or it and wait like the rest of us. Who patiently wait for it to be updated.

However i will start off with the following:

1). Regarding that his life is rather hectic that he should pass on his work to another, Forgive me but-- Hell no. That's his decision, and if his works end up in the hands of someone incompetent who wont follow along the production of the Modification since Sea knows what he is doing, and plans it out, it will come out entirely different or wrong then it was suppose to come out. I have one too, and theres plenty to do while i wait. This, however, not only applies to You, Prof., But to the rest of his fans. Just report him in silence if your feel his comment is rude and just out right mean. Thats like giving your best friend, a sick dying dog to a rookie Doctor and expecting him to heal his dog to perfect health, only to see it come out worse and just walk away to find another dog. Nope. Patience and quality, take the time to find the right Doctor for the job, well Veterinary, to heal your dog, and hopefully save its life.

2). Production - I suppose it carries on where i may of left off from the first. simply, No. If i were in the production of a Mod, and it has reached such critical acclaim and high praise, They will still have to wait till i get it done on my own time without needed pressure. The same should apply for every video game creator and enthusiast. Infact this can apply to alot of industries besides video games, but that can be taken into a discussion, somewhere else.

3). Regarding how your comment is and how you have been addressing with the users i socialize here. You have to forgive them, Different worlds, different thinkings.
But one thing i have to agree is...your approach, again made it sound like a bit of a Jerk. To be honest, from here, what you say now or later, It will not matter how righteous you think your entitled comment is. Heck your rights, opinion or how high in respect you may be given, That will be unacceptable here and from hence forth, anywhere you go, you will be dealt with as you have dealt with others the same disrespect and reactions your getting here. Watch what you say and be considerate of other's. If you continue to cause trouble, or any of my associates continue to cause trouble. Warnings and reports will be distributed equally and fairly to the best of my knowledge of what seems fit according to the forum rules, not to my own opinions, rights or self-righteous insights. Your comment was like someone who sits infront of the computer for hours on end, looking for something new every new hour. If one of those worlds ceases to amuse you or meet your standards, it could be taken like you get rather mean or over critical about it. I will not lie-- it appears that way to me.

4). Again if you continue to be a pest on this topic, i can report you for harassment. As for my associates, if you continue to be unforgiving, and always responding to someones post just as awfully, rather them calmly reporting him and just letting him know, politely, that his comment was rude, mean and short sighted, i will ask you calm down, or report you should it get out of hand.

Forgive me if there is a Grammatical error or typo, I need a new keyboard.

Also, my associates, no offense but its been explained time and again, that the best way to deal with a troll is to report him, leave him or ignore him. Reactions of ANY kind will only...in the sense, feed him and will stick around for longer and longer. In a sense, you'll just have to let him take that bite out of you, hurt your feelings or say sick and awful things, report him, and he will be dealt with maximum punishment from those who HAVE the authority and ability to deal with them. I learned it the hard way. This young man is no troll, but his approach was rather rude and Ill.
