Like the title, whenever I hit/place/break a block I get a lag spike.
I'm using optifine for 1.4.4
Also I'm on windows 8 beta

Hardware specs:
amd fx-8120
8gb ram
radeon hd 6870

Edit: also i get spikes when hitting mobs

my motherboard doesn't have it's own integrated graphics chip, so I assume no switchable graphics

it means that there are no files in the ".minecraft" directory in your "appdata" folder
check to see if it's there by typing %appdata% into the run window then go to ".minecraft"

I never had this problem with my macbook, maybe installing optifine will fix it?

I'm getting these annoying problems with minecraft on a new Radeon HD 6870,

1) The clouds revert to 2d whenever my corsshair is behind a block

2) Opengl slows the game down

3) Fog is always set to fast, even though I have fancy graphics on

Is there something wrong with my drivers? I don't know why a card this powerful is giving me problems

I just installed ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit) onto my macbook
I tried to play minecraft, but it would crash mid-launch, even after updating the lwjgl files

it could be a network issue
does your internet connection have any firewalls or blockers?

already port-forwarded, and I've checked the extenal ip

what are the specs of your computer?
have you tried optifine?

both would work just fine, the one with the Radeon 6870 will out perform the 7750, so I'd go with that
also, you could replace win7 with win8 beta (it's free) or linux and save yourself $100

My friend's server I go to frequently suddenly gave me the "cant reach server" error,
I can connect just fine to other servers but not this one in particular and everyone can reach it except for me.
It's a port-forwarded server, my firewall is off, and I checked the ip.

-any help?

Im on a network thats been keeping me from logging into the minecraft client.
I was able to get the client to connect through a proxy, but i still can't reach any servers.
any help?
