Its BS I agree. The game needs more text abilities than just signs. Its why I put the Plaques suggestion in, I make that suggestion regularly.

It would be like not adding redstone because not everyone uses redstone.

    Exactly.

Does any one know if the animal cap went up

For some ungodly reason, it did not. All this powerful hardware not being used..

Yes, this definitely happens on the PS4 version. Have a fenced in area with some rambunctious cows that Houdini themselves out of the pen. A nice smack teleports them back in.

    • Inventory bar stays at 1/4 up the screen even when turning tooltips off (give us the option to move it down)

From what I can hear, thunder is entirely missing. If it's there, it is VERY much too quiet. Gone are the days of seeking shelter and hearing the roaring booms outside. That sort of ambiance was great. Bring back thunder!

Just make it smaller. Only noobs play with it that big.

    Such a convincing argument.

I just found out that 4J stated that they will never be adding the Book and Quill to the console version because not everyone has a USB keyboard.

Can anybody explain to me exactly what goes through their heads when they make these decisions? Newsflash: some of us DO have USB keyboards, and those who do not are NOT forced to use the Book and Quill if they do not want to. We're dropping money on this game (some of us for the second or third time on console alone) and I really don't think we should find ourselves limited for a reason as poor as this.

It was like this on the 360 version, which has been around for awhile ;)

It's a minor complaint, but it is made all the more irritating by the fact that it was fixed once, but then messed up again.

Back in the old days, when you disabled Hints and Tooltips (the little icons below your inventory bar that say Crafting and Inventory), it would move the inventory bar to the bottom of your screen. Then, an update changed that and it now floats 25% of the way up the screen even though nothing is below it. I was hoping that this would be fixed, but nope. It's present here too. It's distracting and very unnecessary.

Please make it move back to the bottom if you have hints turned off. If nothing else, give us a choice of how high up to put it. This is crazy.

EDIT: This is what I mean:

Ages are 90% above 20 years old. We have a younger person as well. It won't be 24/7, because dedicating your gaming console to run a Minecraft server is a waste of a gaming console. Mojang/4J are making a huge mistake in not including dedicated server options. Instead, we have scheduled games nights so you know exactly when the server will be open.

    Hi there,

I'm the leader of a small, currently 6-man group called Cathexis Gaming. Obviously there are a few of us who are more than excited for Minecraft (among other things, such as Destiny, PlanetSide 2, and so on). Not all of our members happen to share the same enthusiasm as a few of us do, and therefore we'd love it if any community-inclined people would enjoy hopping on-board.

We have a site you can check out and apply to the community, which would lead to us getting back to you, probably in time to play some Minecraft as early as tonight. We have dreams of building an incredible world full of cities, bases, weird redstone contraptions and more (done in Survival, of course!). If it sounds like your cup of tea, hit me up with a private message on here and I'll give you a link.

If you're not interested, we hope you enjoy your time in Minecraft! So awesome that it's coming out today!

Cathexis is a perfectly-modified Minecraft server that aims to provide
a realistic and professionally-driven atmosphere that is both
incredible and unique. Whether you look to seek power or
lead a simple life as a farmer, you are guaranteed to find something
to do on Cathexis. Engage with others on a quest to colonize
a brave new world. If you trust your peers, share your wealth for the greater good.
Or, if you are of a more wretched nature, steal your way to the top.
Whatever your poison, know that you will never be constrained
like you would be on other servers.

    ╚══════════════╝

Cathexis is a brand new survival server hosted by the primarily PlayStation 4 gaming community Cathexis Gaming. While it is true that we put stock in games such as Destiny, PlanetSide 2, Battlefield 4 and more, we couldn't resist the allure of a PC Minecraft server. Staffed by members who have years upon years of Minecraft experience under their belts, Cathexis is a sure-fire bet for fair gameplay, non-intrusive plugins, and a friendly community. We do not set out to restrict you like other servers attempt to. You are free to build, create, craft, destroy, cooperate, disintegrate, and any other verb you can imagine. We believe that you should never let power-hungry server administrators hold you down.

There may be a hint of worry in your mind at this point. What if I build something that I don't want destroyed? What if I want to keep my valuables safe? Other servers advertise the safety and well-being of your property as selling points. While we would very much prefer that, if you wanted to keep your stuff safe, you keep it well-hidden, it's no secret that this may not always be an option. We are willing to work with players on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the structures you mean to be everlasting stay that way. As for your possessions, Cathexis is an ever-evolving server. It's very likely that a player-run bank system will be in place at the time, or something far more elaborate. It's our world: let's see what kind of things we can come up with.

    Server IP:

    • Staffed by players who have been running servers for years.
    • Enjoy a largely vanilla server, utilizing only the most essential plugins.
    • Do as you please, be it build, craft, destroy, or kill.
    • Gain riches, form groups, and make a name for yourself.
    • 24/7 up-time with no lag ensures that you can always get your fix.
    • Website that ties into the server, allowing for even more socialization.

posted a message on Looking for staff/builders to bring a server proposal to life.
This is a proposal I wrote some time ago, and I've just now decided that it would be ideal to attempt to create it. If it interests you, please ensure that you have read everything and reply with the pertinent information. Thank you.

    INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this presentation is to pitch an idea that I have personally found to be a unique and exciting approach to a roleplay-esque survival Minecraft server. The primary theme is life inside of a politically charged kingdom, or republic, in which there are numerous towns (Towny plugin is used) that are all part of one singular kingdom. At the top, there is an elected king.

    GAMEPLAY

Each town may have its own unique laws as long as it also maintains the current laws of the kingdom. The king will, as well as rule over the kingdom, rule over a capital town that will house himself and, potentially, senators and/or advisors (up for debate). A king is elected every so often (intervals will be decided) and will rule in terms. The king will be able to implement policies and enact projects that could include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Require that a town begin to improve any part of itself
    • Link towns together to make travel easier
    • Beautification projects
    • Safer world projects
    • Anything he can come up with, really
These are only a few examples, and there is no limit beyond the imagination of the king. If the king is widely disliked, there may be an attempt to overthrow him. He may step down peacefully. If the king dies at the hands of another player, he is considered dethroned and dead. This is, of course, exempt from people who play on the server with the sole intention of causing chaos. There must be proper reasoning.
The gist of the gameplay is a Minecraft server where cooperation leads to a functioning society that mimics old-timey kingdoms.

    ELECTIONS

A town can choose whether or not to hold interval-based elections for their mayors. Mayors are permitted to die by anyone’s hands and retain their position. If a specific town demands elections, then up to two players may ultimately run for mayor in a final election (either two completely new candidates or the incumbent versus a newcomer). Anyone can attempt to run for king. Each town will choose one player to go forward in the election for king, and then a tally of all votes will be counted. The kingship will have a set system (max terms, how long a term is, etc.) as opposed to more flexible town systems.

    MAYORS
Mayors of towns can, as mentioned, set town-specific laws for their own town. This includes whether or not there are elections. Mayors can be overthrown if a majority of population decides that he is no longer fit to rule. At that point, an election can be held if one player does not seal the power vacuum. Kings can demote mayors is they feel they are not being cooperative toward achieving the kingdom’s goals. Kings ideally should not appoint mayors, but it is not entirely out of the question.

Obviously there is more to be worked out, and that would come with time. Here's some stuff I'd prefer to know about you before jumping in:
    • How old are you? There isn't exactly a requirement here, but I'm afraid I can't allow younger kids with noticeably squeaky voices. It just doesn't work in terms of professionalism.
    • Can you build well enough? We'd need to get a capital city started up, and I essentially can build nothing decent.
    • Have you staffed a server before/are you currently staffing other servers? I'm looking for people who can put as much time in here as possible, so other server duties might be too invasive.
    • Is there anything else I should know about you?
