Why are you looking at US carriers if your in Canada.

Verizon is great if you are grandfathered in on Altel plans.
Even on the old plan I'm on its only saving me 20$ a month compared to the same amount of texts and data on sprint.

For new customers go sprint they cover cities its mostly rural areas they have issues with.

    I use Chrome..

I do have IE and firefox.

    Here's a test I did:

I counted how long it took for each browser to go to youtube.

    IE: 21 Seconds
    Firefox: 9 Seconds.
    Chrome:8 Seconds.

Sounds like your computer is slow as crap or your internet is.

    Quote from Gringo_Starr

Your system does not pull 650w. Without actually measuring the actual power consumption over an average period of use it's impossible to guess how much power you're using, and the efficiency of a PSU varies according to load, so doing simple sums like this won't get you an answer.

In practice the answer is almost certainly "not much" :)

But the efficiency rating says it will always be above this amount so you can look at worst case scenario.

I'm stuck on "then multiply that times the pull of your system"

Ok lets say you have a PSU with 80& efficeny.

Well that means it has to pull 20% higher then what your system pulls.
    20 / 100 .2 or 20%
    So lets say your system pulls 600W well 600 * .20 = 120

So your PSU will pull 720W.

Depends on cost of power in your area and how much your system is going to pull.

Just take 100 - efficiency of PSU then divide it by 100 then multiply that times the pull of your system.

Thats how much extra watts that will pull.
Convert each to KWH and find out how much a KWH costs in your area.

the difference is how much you save per hour.

Well I'm glad they're working on it I use firefox as my default browser :)

There are multiple things I don't like about Chrome, the snappy UI is the only thing I like really.

If you want more information on it here.
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis

It is not super high on Mozilla list of things to do but work is being done.

That was just a hypothetical analogy, I have no idea how they work just that Chrome has a faster feeling UI in general. And I do think you get occasional stutters in Firefox as it's loading things, it's extremely subtle - it's so subtle you don't notice it until you use Chrome and realize what 100% stutter free UI feels like.

Chrome also just looks faster. You can see for yourself by pointing them to the same page then quickly resizing the window bigger and smaller continuously dragging the mouse. Chrome the resizes look smother and snappier, Firefox looks jittery and less responsive.

The stutters is due to all threads sharing the same UI thread they have a project working on it ATM but I really don't notice it.

My resizing looks fine on my laptop with firefox.

I think part of Chrome's reason for feeling faster is the dev team probably does everything they can to keep the UI responsive at all times, and does everything they can to shave off even 10-20ms of delay over any user interaction even if the core browser is running the same speed.

For example (just hypothetical IDK how they actually work)

As you scroll down in Firefox javascript somewhere might happen to start executing and you get a little CPU spike from the JS engine and your scroll stutters for a split second.

In Chrome, the same thing happens, but chrome has the scroll bar (and all the UI elements) loaded in its own protected separate thread, maybe even on a different CPU core altogether. So it still happens, but you don't feel it.

Chrome seems to load faster because it starts showing the webpage mid render I think this looks ugly and bothers me.
Firefox does not load as you scroll down it loads the whole thing. Firefox UI is in its own thread so are the plugins and addons.

if you want security = firefox
if you want speed = chrome or opera
if you dont give a **** about anything = ie9

How is firefox more secure then chrome neither were hacked at pwn 2 this year.

Chrome is not really any faster then firefox.

    GASP 20 millisecounds under Windows.

But its 10 milliseconds faster for hot startup.

In no way are you going to notice it ever in any situation.

    Gasp a whole 120 milliseconds.

But chome uses less memory you might say wellll.

Better switch to Internet Explorer if you care about that.

Well now you might say well I used 40 tabs welll.

Opera showing its "Speed" once again.

If you want to go by hardware acceleration and HTML5 looks like Internet Explorer kicks chromes ass.

So uh why does IE suck again other then security because it normally gets owned at pwn to own.
I still stand by Firefox being the best overall.

And for most people Facebook will run faster with it.

I disagree. I think it's a few steps higher than the Samaritan tech demo. What sort of difference where you expecting over the change of one year anyways? Even if comparatively you don't find it much better, it's still impressive regardless.

Quite a bit the samartitan demo can run on a single GTX 580 or 6970.

I would expect a lot more from todays techdemos now that we have the 680.

Of course its optimized and using scripted events, that's the entire point of a tech demo. The Samaritan Tech Demo is also extremely impressive, but it's a lot smaller in scope than the tech demo square showed off; not to mention the particle effects and lighting seem more impressive in the Luminous tech demo. I really don't see your point here, but hey, be as unimpressed as you want.

My point is as a techdemo its unimpressive not really improved over past years.

But I think http://www.wired.com...f_unreal4/all/1 looks rather sick (much more my style). I can only wait and see what happens.

That tech demo is for whats replacing the one in the video I linked.
I am not super impressed by it either but the screens in that are ment to show off some fo the new lighting effects not the engine as a whole I want to see that more.
