Trinity laptops will start releasing on the 19-20th here in the US I am sure a few might start popping up but the majority will be releasing then.
You probably won't need an A10 for what you do an A8 would be enough.

Will these work with my iPod touch?
If not, then I'm not getting it.
Gonna get something that looks better, if you know what I mean.

    Looks better?
No they are USB not analog you need to find analog headsets.

Its a braided cable. I have no clue how you would break it unless you played tug-o-war with it.

No mid wire it formed a break in it the outside of the cable was intact.
but the inside had a bad connection.

Yes the desktop has all but a few things been removed. I guess it is a move towards having a more touch friendly interface.

    All the mouse over things?
That's not really what I call touch friendly in fact that's probably less because how do you "hover" over things with a touch screen.
    Windows 8 desktop.

I have not tried it yet, but I most likely will buy it when it comes out. Also, I thought that it had a way to activate desktop mode? If not, poor move Microsoft, poor move.

No there is no way to activate or deactivate desktop mode because Desktop mode is there by default.

Yeah, your right. I was thinking about the desktop processors. But they will still be good this time around ;)

There highend sucked but us who like and buy highend CPUs are a minority.

I think I might wait for Piledriver desktop rather then buy an I5 right now.

Toms said they will add I3 benchmarks to the charts soon so that should give us a better idea of it compared to the I3.

Huh. That is cool, unfortunately it will cost more to get faster RAM.

Its looking good though, good to see AMD will not suck this time around, in the laptop market at least.

AMD did not suck last time in the APU market Llano sold a lot and earned AMD a lot of money. GF was not able to produce them fast enough for AMD due to the demand.

Well the review is up on Toms.

    http://www.tomshardw...5400k,3224.html

For lowend parts they are clocked very high.

Lets look at single threaded benchmark.

    That's without L3 cache.
22% improvement for clock for clock.

On the Phenom2 arch L3 resulted in about 8-10% improved speed if we assume Piledriver benefits that much from L3 we could be seeing a 30% improvement clock for clock per core over bulldozer.

Winzip takes advantage of high core counts and you can see a 4C Piledriver lacking L3 cache is almost as fast as 8 core bulldozer with L3.

Plus with OpenCL on top it is a lot better.
Also showing quite a benefit over Llano its especially clocked a lot higher.

Really nothing new but if we recommend a Trinity APU make sure you give it some fast ram because it loves it.

Looks like AMD fixed the dual graphics issues with Llano.

Will add more of a summary of the benchmarks and highlight the important parts for people too lazy to read the whole thing.

Really? I didn't know that at all. I thought BF3 was highly GPU-bound.

Its physics and 3D online makes it very CPU bound for Online play.

I can imagine. Hard evidence that the FX series wasn't doing so well.

I assume Minecraft is a similarly CPU-bound style game?

Ya MC really only uses 1 core so the I3 will be quite a bit better.

Yep that caused quite a bit of commotion when posted. Look particularly closely at the more CPU-bound games; Skyrim and Starcraft II.

BF3 is fairly CPU bound in MP my CPU causes a lot of FPS drops.
During the Beta I remember posts of it using 5 cores of a thuban CPU so it could be BF3 is showing how bulldozer is in well threaded games.

Op if you can afford the I5 go for it it has 2 more cores so in multithreaded games you will see a boost along with still have solid performance in lightly threaded games.

Baggerboot the new startmenu is supposed to be GPU accelerated I would make sure you got the newest drivers that might help with the slow opening.

TaskManager does take a while on mine too 3-5 seconds it varies.

I still expect some small tweaks before release and some improved TaskManager startup can't be that hard just keep it in RAM with superfetch.
