This could also mean Microsoft could lock down their consoles parts and lets you pay to unlock them for extra performance.

With the rumors of Microsoft going with a cheap prebuilt PC in the past I would not find this surprising.

This could also mean that maybe Microsoft is going with an AMD APU and maybe they will let you have an addon GPU in hybrid cross fire.

They could also maybe just do this to have a model with 360 game support and a cheap version without it.

Huh, well I gave it more power in CCC and I have played 2-3 games without crashing. I also installed DirectX but I don't think that made a difference because isn't it built into windows 7?

CCC does not let you give it more power the 20% thing lets you increase the TDP for components.

Sorry to kinda necro this thread but it would be pointless to make a new one, but could it be possible that I have an unstable factory OC? I've been searching around and thought maybe that could be a reason.

Doubt it the ECC ram pretty much prevents texture corruption from OCs.
Most of the time on AMD x900 cards with ECC ram performance will just drop off a cliff when they are oced too far.

I'm getting and i3-2120 in my build. BF3 isn't CPU intensive so it should be fine, right?

Actually BF3 is when your running in MP but an I3 should be enough.

So the 6850 could max BF3 at 1440x900?

No it also depends on your CPU

My 6970 at 1440x900 is only getting about 50-60fps but my CPU is limiting me BF3 MP requires a decent amount CPU power.

That would bring the cost down significantly, next thing to work out is the brains.
If you make it remote controlled by a human you get http://en.wikipedia....er-Miller_TALON
Making it smart enough to make its own decisions is a bit trickier.

It is not hard to make a lego robot that avoids walls.
Then take an Android smartphone and use Google face recognition tech and have it shoot everything with a face.

A big bunch of cables is obviously going to block proper airflow. Dust building up on them is evidence of this.

And besides, as I've stated before, it's easier to maintain a computer that has its cables tucked behind the motherboard tray. Actually going through the process of tucking your cables behind the motherboard tray can save you time in the future, and is a one time operation. There's no reason not to do this if you can.

Not if they are sitting out of the way of the fans like I said.

Actually I consider the opposite true it takes me like 3 seconds to add another drive to my computer compared to the time it would take to wire it around the back and also buy longer sata cables.

How often do you work on old machines?

Every single one I've seen at work has had TONS of dust built up in the cables. Dust doesn't build up in the cables if they're out of the way.

Good looking cables are just a side effect of good cable management; The real goal should be to keep upgrading and maintaining your computer easier in the future.

On a daily basis during the school year I work for a school and other times a library.

This means what exactly dust is going to settle on anything.

Putting your cables all pretty like behind the motherboard tray means jack **** just don't stick your cables in front of fans and your ok.

Airflow gives a flying **** about cable management :P

And working on machines that have bad cable management is a pain in the ass.

How pretty your cables are is going to have little to no effect on airflow unless you glue an IDE cable to the front of a fan.

no cable management, toolless drive bays barely work, flimsy everything, it's not a good case, trust me, i've had it

Who gives a flying **** about cable management o no his in case pictures won't look so pretty.
I have worked with some OEM that had toolless drives that look exactly like those its not that bad and its not like he is going to be swapping drives out on a daily basis.

But the price differences between the cases are minor so he could jump up to that.
Or he could jump and get this case
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147108
It comes with more fans and I prefer the 3.5 harddrives mounts to the ones in that nzxt.

The window is what makes it ****.

But he has a lowend build the difference between cases is negligible.
Plus the look of cases is all opinion so what does it matter.

Well, the textures in battlefield 3 are freaking out. There is like white lines flashing everywhere. Could this mean I have a defective video card? I might just rma the thing.

Ya just RMA it with the other issues you have had might as well try a RMA.

I think most of the issues were just with the Agility Series. A Vertex 3 or 4 drive should perform just fine. My old SSD was an original Vertex and I had no problems at all with it.

The Agility series were old 2009 drives and used a very early sand force controller.
The Vertex series uses a Sandforce controller but a newer one.

Crucial, Intel, and Kingston make good ones. Stay away from OCZ drives.

A lot of Ocz drive issues came from the sand force controllers I have not heard many issues sense they updated the firmware on them.

Windows if you plan on playing games.
If you want to mess with Linux why not throw Ubuntu on a flash drive and live boot off it and mess with it.
