You will probably wreck it. My friend had a phone that was supposedly water proof so he threw it into my pool. It never worked again.

These are actually pretty tough and what phone was this. Did it say water proof or water resistant.

It isn't that bad. I just installed Oblivion and I was getting decent fps. Portal runs on here too.

Oblivion is below Cod 4 in terms of system requirements.

    I don't understand.

He is saying he does not like how Dice is giving DLC out for a season pass so people are getting DLC for a lower price then he payed for it. He is also saying he hates how TF2 went free to play.

Things drop price after they come out DLC works that way games work that way normally they don't go free.

I preorderd BF3 so I got B2k free anyway so I got it for even less then the season pass people and I don't see them posting about it.

posted a message on What is a good military simulator for Xbox?
If you got a good PC pick up Arma ignoring the idiots who buy it for DayZ the game is a realistic milsim game maybe wait for Arma 3.

If you are interested in the Military but can't be in it for health reasons maybe see if there is some milsim Airsoft in your area or just normal Airsoft(its just two different ways to play the game).
I know you asked for a game but this was just a suggestion this would also be expensive you got the ACUs to buy and plate carriers if you do this. But the game is generally going to be slow enough paced that anyone in decent shape even with minor health issues should be ok.

According to this page on PAE you can apparently allow a 32 bit OS to use up to 64GB of memory. I myself don't know much about the subject, but I thought BC previously stated that the memory lock on 32 bit systems is a characteristic only found on Windows. He could have been saying something else, but that's how I remember it.

Even with PAE the software is locked to 4GB with the LAA flag.

But no you are right Ubuntu with PAE can acess up to 64GB of memory on 32bit.
PAE is locked in Windows except for server versions.

posted a message on 660 Ti Specs and Launch Date rumored; august 16th!
The MSRP is always much higher then the release pricing on cards.
I think I said this when the 680 came out that the 660ti is not going to be the budget monster the 560ti was because Nvidia cut the whatever compute part out for the whole deal rather then just the 560ti and below.

Nvidia has had production issues too and I assume AMD has had some too both being on TSMC this also leading to higher pricing.

    Tada!

Seems to be slightly better than a 580.

Why no battlefield, cysis 2, skyrim

But going off here ignoring the synthetic benchmarks and the Nvidia way it was ment to be played games why this test seemed to have so many of them I dont know this is why I prefer toms they tend to avoid games that were coded to one side. I still cut out the ones AMD one in.

Numbers based off the AA tests.

    660ti- 2
    7950- 2

Well both take some wins and some loses.
I say go off toms benchmarks when they come out or anandtechs.

Could that possibly make the AMD cards go lower?

Depending on the performnace of it we could see a price drop of the 7950.
Then we could see a price war and everyone wins.

Well I really wouldn't call Valve a Publisher as they also release games unless you consider Mojang a Publisher.

still gonna be a while until company's start making games for Linux.

Blizzard already supports Linux in house they said they do not want to release for fear of driver issues.
If Valve can help get Linux drivers improved it will help.

posted a message on Dynamic Shaders Help
It is actually more of your CPU then GPU IIRC last time I loaded shadders up I saw a massive spike in CPU usage.
I have basically the desktop version of your CPU and mine is running at more then twice the clock speed(yes its fair to compare by clock speed same type of cpu) and I only get about 40 fps running them.

When I said 7.1 headset I was specifically referring to USB headsets that rely on drivers, such as Corsair, Razer, etc. Either your headset is true 7.1 or it is just giving you stereo. Also does your mouse/keyboard have the ability to bind keys or create macros? for example I have a Nostromo, without the driver and utility I can't set it up the way I need it to.

Also WINE CAN NOT run everything, besides the work arounds aren't the best, as I said I couldn't get anything to run with WINE, I didn't feel like wasting more time on it so I gave up, I spend a good amount of money on things such as ITunes, I don't want it to go to waste. Linux does have alternatives, however they lack a lot, as I said I can't back up my IPod, sync anything other than music, and ohh, the album artwork gets screwed over, might not be a big deal to you but it is to me. Skype on Linux looks like Hamachi, a small little box which shows very few things, not fun. Sure Linux is a better OS, ONLY if you have a crap a** amount of time to work with it, most people don't, I only used it because my crappy hard drive failed on me, I used it for a month until my friend got me a back up disc for W7, at which point I was more than happy to return to the OS where I can actually run the stuff i want without going through a bunch of bs. If more programs suported Linux i would love to use it, but seeing as they don't I won't even bother with it.

You also didn't mention Nvidia 3D, what if someone wants to run that?

Listen, I'm not trying to bash Linux, all I'm saying is that it is not the most user friendly OS there is, and your average gamer doesn't want to f*** around for 20 years figuring out how to get <insert program name> to work.

Uhh my corsair headset works just fine under Ubuntu so did my creative one.

On driver issues Windows actually has more for me my laptop is not supported under windows 8 so I had to hack the inf file Ubuntus additional drivers has always gotten me working Video card drivers excluding right when I got my 6970 only a few weeks after release.

Most of HPs print drivers don't work under Windows and their universal one is useless.
Ubuntu has no problem using generic printer drivers to use them this is one of the reasons the library I worked for moved all of their machines over to Ubuntu.

Also your fault for using shitty Apple products don't blame Linux because Apple refuses to support that platform.
Android works just fine under Linux if not better.

Linux has many issues mostly poor opengl support in Nvidia drivers and to a lesser extent Intel and AMD drivers.
This is something Valve is going to have to deal with I know they have been working with Intel but Nvidia is the one they really need to work with.

Torrents don't download from a server everyone who has the torrent running is a peer and they all download and upload to each other.
So a peer is someone else running the torrent.
