    Thanks man!
Now Hdmi doesn't work though. Only DVI... o_0

Hmm that shouldn't have happened might try reinstalled the driver.
Use this to clear the old driver and install the new one the drivers might be detecting it as the wrong card due to the changed bios.
    http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion
Then remove the driver from device manger restart download install this driver.
Use the beta ones just in case you need them for proper supports(you shouldn't but might as well use).

posted a message on how many FPS would i get on minecraft?...
Its impossible to give an exact number on FPS but you will easily max the game at 60 fps you don't need anymore then that so you are good.

The A8 is a CPU (well, APU by marketing terms).

APU is a bit more then a marketing term with the direction AMD is going with HSA eventually the GPU will be 100% part of the CPU and you won't be able to tell what is running on what. ATM they share memory controllers among other things so its more then Intels igp that just sits on the same die.

AMD has a new 7950 BIOS, but I have 0 idea on how I update it.

If you don't know how its probably best you don't how ever if you still want to.

It is not too terribly hard to do plus AMD has provided anandtech with a flashing exe so you don't have to do it manually.

Once its done boom your card is faster so go rub it in the face of future 660ti owners.

AMD cards just don't like mc, but after 60, it doesn't matter. I get over 300 FPS, but I use VSync to limit it to 60.

Its when you play graphically demanding games, they shine (for their price).

Actually its the other way around Nvidia has speed hacks to increase opengl performance and over all just incorrect implementation of it but this also can cause bugs and performance issues with card that don't use them.
AMD and Intel have a more spec correct OpenGl implementation.
    Intel more so then AMD.
It also does not help that AMD gimps opengl performance on non workstation cards.
The opensource Linux drivers actually have the best.

No but bf3 requires 4 cores for high number of players.

    This statement is complete ********.

Bf3 runs fine on my triple core athlon 2 at 2.9 ghz and an I3 is wayyyyy faster then it.

posted a message on 660Ti finally benchmarked
Based on the benchmarks we have the 660ti is right at the 7950 level.

Well AMD has just released their solution, a bios update or the 7950 so now all 7950s sold will suddenly be faster.

So now Nvidia will need to push prices lower to be competitive and deal with whatever price drops AMD does.

Also someone manged to buy one at best buy for 299$
Compared to the 330$ for the 7950b

But fortunately its priced just right enough that AMD might need to push down the 7950 by a bit and it should push down the 7870.

Even if it was in C++ just as unoptimized, it would be faster than it would be in Java,

Actually if it was poor c++ code we would have memory leaks coming out of everywhere and many many many more platform specific bugs.

Seems pretty stable to me, minecraft runs much more smoother then it did before. No bad lag spikes anymore.

Oh and it is bad if it crashes from me putting the voltage to low? it wouldn't harm my laptop, would it?

Edit - Would anyone know how to change a laptops fan speed? Program Speedfan isn't working :(

No running at low voltages runs no risk at all.
Running at too high of voltages yes but low no.

Most laptop fans aren't controllable by software.

I feel like stupid now, lol. I've tried to get the 2.4ghz voltage down to 1.0v but it seemed to crash my laptop and give me a bluescreen.

My laptop does get a little hotter after I change the clock speed, like 2-7c

    You really shouldn't feel stupid.
Ya You could mess and tweak a bit of the other values to get it stable with the lower voltage but it is most lickly the max your chips going to do. If you lowerd the voltage you should be running cooler just dust it out you should be fine.

But dam you should be happy thats a pretty large overclock assuming its 100% stable.

Whoops sorry about the MHz/GHz switch, my CPU monitor says MHz some reason? and tempatures will get around 70-80c when gaming... During crysis 2 it gets to 90c and so I won't play that until I get a cooling pad.

    CPUZ says 2423mhz not 2.423mhz.

See if you can get the voltages down a bit more and get it dusted you honestly should be fine in the 90c area and it should shutdown before it metls.

BTW you are running at 1.4ghz to 2.4ghz not mhz.

Just keep the temps under 70c and you should be fine they could probbly take temps in the 90c but better safe then haveing a melted laptop.

It wil do alright I know many people here with A8s run it just fine.

Also run Windows 7 less hassle with display drivers.
