I know this doesn't involve Firefox, but why are there so many Google Chromes?

In Chrome to help prevent 1 tab from crashing or lagging out another they each run as their own process.

Liquid cooling? I don't even use air cooling. I like to get my processor heated up. Like I said, I make love to my i5 2500K.

What one connecting adult does to his processor is between him and it.

To be moderately on topic with the flame war.

Ya it sucks but its not really Googles fault they are in the governments eye already so they kinda have to stay on the clean side and are pretty much the ***** of the other companies filling the claims.

Like I always say go support the EFF if you hate the current copyright laws.

Well its not a remake its just compiled for 64bit and some other compiler flags.

Really? It only uses around 200MB for me.

1440x900? The standard of benchmarking, right?

EDIT: Wanted to add that buying anything more than a 6850 for his rig is just stupid. No offense Xaanos, but your upgrade option to a 6970 on that rig was quite bad. The 6970 fails in price:performance. Even at 1920x1080p, you don't need anything more than a 6950.

My point is he can get a low end card and run mc fine and the water shadder mod probably fine due to how unoptimized the glsl shadder mod is and how picky it can be on hardware he probably won't.

Never said he should I am still waiting on a budget.

Really people bitching about my GPU again you guys do realize I have had this for quite a while now I think I have explained the story many many many many times. In fact I got it before I joined the curse forums.

Woah, that kind of case is for computers that are rather expensive. With that you probably won't even run Minecraft smoothly, let alone the GLSL shaders.

That CPU sucks its not never going to run Minecraft ever.

    Desktop
    AMD athlon2 x3 3.6ghz
    AMD 6970
    Ram 8gigs 1333mhz

Ya that CPU sucks what kind of dumbass would have a triple core Athlon2. It can't play any games at all defiantly not ultra BF3 with AA turned up with a oced 6970.

Whats you budget? Also do you play any other games then MC.

posted a message on Confusing RAM issues. Only recognizes 2.5 GB, but can support up to 4 GB?
    Quote from BrokenMiracle

Okay, so, this makes a little more sense. The Nvidia card uses 256mb in RAM, which is counted along with the 2.5 I have in there, right?

Okay. If this is the problem, then can I upgrade the RAM, at all? If the limit is 3.5GB, technically 3.2GB available since some is reserved, shouldn't I be able to take two 521mb cards out and put in two 1GB cards? Or would it not recognize it since the Nvidia card uses 256mb, putting me over the edge or something?

Sorry, I just have so many questions.

Sure you can update the ram but you should probably go get a 64bit Os.

But you are running a Pentium 4 its not worth upgrading the ram the next upgrade you should look for should be a new computer.

And you have a 32bit OS. Tech limit is 3.2GB, or tbh 2.5GB is about right. Because hardware, and graphics card will yank some memory from system for its own usage.

Actually the 32bit limit is in the 256 TB range but Microsoft limits the memory for stability reasons.
The Linux kernel can do 64GB under 32bit.

A Windows 32bit OS can only support up to 4GB of ram vram and rom and I think HD cache is counted.
Windows will also reserve ram for your GPU and other hardware.
Open Control panel go to admin tools and hit resource monitor.
    Hit physical memory
It should say the total and you should see some amount reserved for hardware.

they probably could have gotten away with a single 6-pin connector, but whatever, it leaves more overclocking headroom, and the 660Ti performs similarly to the 580 (or so I heard, haven't comparisons between the 2)

    Its 7.4% faster at games.
However I would consider the 580 better overall for the compute performance.

I have the AMD Sempron 150, not the sempron 4. Forgot to mention that it's the one I have. The AMD Sempron 150 is dual-core as well, and 2.9 GHz.

I am not smart with computers, obviously :3

Well its faster then the Pentium 4 but that is not saying much its like saying you can outrun a a rock.

My point was to see what architecture is better if you want to get serious about comparing the cards.

Except what if that arch is better at clocking higher?

Considering the ghz edition gets to be up to 150$ more its not really a fare comparison. they should only compare cards that have the same core clock. then it would be fare to say which card is better.

Wat uh that's only the case with the 7970 if you buy any 7950 atm it should have the new bios but you could get unlucky.

Yes we should only compare things running a the same GHZ we need to overclock the 2500k to 3.6 when we benchmark it against the 8150 or else its not fair.

We should also only compare cars with the same horse power otherwise its unfair.
