Ah, AMD now has FUD skills!

Because Intel would never cheat or lie right, they have never done that before.

Surge protection? Against lighting? You are joking, right?

The terms surge protection device (SPD), or the obsolescent term transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS), are used to describe electrical devices typically installed in power distribution panels, process control systems, communications systems, and other heavy-duty industrial systems, for the purpose of protecting against electrical surges and spikes, including those caused by lightning

Ahaha, I am really surprised other posters didn't notice that the OP is trying to run the server and the client at the same time.

The problem is that you are running the server and the client on the same computer - some computers can handle that fine, while others will struggle.

Maybe they run on a different computer.

Seen the new Bulldozers? 3.9 GHz on 8 cores, 4.5 GHz turbo 4 cores. Thats ****ing impressive. Also, it can be overclocked to 5.1 GHz on air, so it does obliterate Intel in pretty much every shape and form. Sure, Ivy's are on their way, but at least we don't have to put up with their smuggish fanboy-ism for a while, they can no longer say their processors are better :smile.gif:

As we highjack this topic to some extent.

All of this is rumor regarding clock speed no official solid amd. There are been some signs of bad news Bulldozer was delayed until September for performance issues. Maybe they wanted better overclocking who knows.

But more cores will be better for rendering and video editing and depending on there new core features. The new one being that a module containing 2 cores can make the 1 core access parts of the other core for more performance ontop of turbo should help with minecraft and anything else that only uses 1 core or 2

Yeah, I can imagine, if that were to start circulating as soon as the processor turned on..... IDK, I have seen AMD processors -300 below, and still very stable. Stubborn little bastards.

That is one of the big things amd sold there phenom2 on is it could take alot colder temps then Intel cpus.

Good thing my AM3 motherboard support AM3+ cpus ive been waiting to upgrade from this triple core for a while. Any know know if they will have a 6 cores?

Just because the release is September 19th does not mean you will be buying it from newegg then most of the time they have supply issues for the first few weeks depending on how popular it is.

They do have pumps for liquid nitrogen but they are expensive and not very safe.

Alot more future proof then the motherboard your planning on getting its AM3+ so if you decide to upgrade cpu sometime you can. Also supports more then 3tb in a harddrive

In that video they are on a limited world size something of that scale just wouldn't be possible on a normal server. There are some diff rent ways you could get minecraft to run with alot of players but wouldent be easy. I remember hearing an idea for a bukkit plugin that would allow mass hybrid p2p servers or more then one server hosting it but i don't know what happend if it ever got deved. Becuase even if you used some tricks to by pass the hardware limit you are going to hit a bandwidth problem also and internet hosting is expensive.

Ignoring the technical problems of basically hosting a mmo with server code not made for it.

It is a cool idea that should be done at some point.

Minecraft resources are unlimited, not limited.
Also, players don't need food and shelter; they only make survival easier.

If any one ever sets something like this up pm me on the fourm id be interested in looking at it in action but it might have to wait tell release when hopefully the server code is more efficient and is capable of handling more players
