ASUS's warranty (no warranties, for that matter) cover stuck pixels unless it covers more than 30% of the visible screen.

Either try the eraser or color flash trick, or deal with it.

Not exactly true Viewsonic will replace for 1 stuck pixel or just inaccurate pixel if it is within the center of the screen. 5 is the replacement point anywhere else. ASUS will replace fully dead pixels if it is just 1, they will replace if 5 are anywhere.

An a8 can max out minecraft. My a4 could almost do it, i have seen an a6 do it, then an a8 can do it.

Show me otherwise I got benchmark results you just have your claims.

Funny you say that, in you're About Me page it says you're laptop has the same AMD as the one mentioned above.

I do and this is why I know it can't, It is going to run fine don't worry just claims that it maxes it are wrong. I want people to understand what their computer is going to be capable of doing.

The typical amd a8 should max out minecraft.

on a laptop no it will not even on an A10 look at my benchmarking thread and you will see how it can't.

posted a message on Help setting up local network
You really don't need a crossover cable, majority of NICs support automatic crossover. For simplicity and if you want to have more then 2 computers just buy a cheap 10 port switch.

In your current set up both NICs should eventually just give them selves IPs if they are set to automatic configuration and no DHCP can be found.

There is a networking guide here on the forums it should be enough to get the basics across.

And the sun is not actually yellow, yet if I asked you what color it is, your answer would probably be "yellow".

You realize HDDs are not measured in Tb or TB, correct? They're measured in TiB, in which case, 1,000TiB = 1TiB, however, the industry commonly abbreviates this as "TB".

When you buy a 1TB HDD you are really buying a ~986GB HDD.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tebibyte
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terabyte
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terabit

Uhh I think you made some typos or something.

    1000GB = TB
    1024GiB = TiB

Drives are measured using this rule and labeled that way. However Windows considers 1024GB = 1TB and so you appear to lose space. You also lose some due to formatting and other issues. OSX measures things using MB, GB, and TB, however it actually uses the correct values for SI prefixes. Some Linux distros do it the same way as OSX.

I'm pretty sure the Galaxy Nexus just had curved glass, not a curved screen. I'm fairly certain about that, but correct me if I'm wrong.

The screen was clearly curved as depending on the angle the curved portion would discolor due to the viewing angles.

Funny, just found out Microsoft didn't even bother fixing this issue with the xbone.

This is not an issue this is purely on the users end. The only solution would be to put a sensor and try to slow down the disk if moment is detected.

What do you mean starting to see?

The Galaxy Nexus had a curved screen and it is over 2 years old at this point. I don't have an issue with it. Not sure if I ever really saw benefit from it.

I have seen fire damaged partly melted disks be sanded to be repaired anything so as long as it is surface damage is fixable by a store with a disk sanding machine. Most places around here charge 5$ per disk that is much cheaper then buying a new one.

posted a message on Should I get a PC or PS4?
    Quote from SlamDrag

    It's not.

Lower clock speeds and less CU's. The actual CPU part of the APU will be a bit better (since it will be using Piledriver rather than Jaguar) but the GPU part will have less than twice the CU's of the PS4 (PS4 has 18, Kaveri APU has 8 (atleast the one that was showcased in video))

The Xbox One is also Jaguar based. I actually have doubts that Piledriver is faster in this small of a power envelope otherwise there never would have been a reason for AMD to design Jaguar.

If you unbricked it then you did not actually brick it. Not booting is different then bricking it.

This is when I'm wishing the Ubuntu Edge got to its goal and that I could get one... *Sigh*

And if you get an Android phone, make sure you don't brick it.

They would have been by far more expensive then any highend Android phone.

Phones are pretty much impossible to brick. There is no reason anyone should be flashing their baseband or bootloader.

I use it for my job, I can use my Gs4 to quickly look up things or use it to telnet into a switch/router by using a usb to serial cable.I also use it as a GPS unit in my car.If it was not for these things I don't feel like I would need a smartphone.

"Plans/scam/recurring fees? (I just want it in my hand with no restrictions tyvm)
Price (Alot of money for what would only be a few conviences)
    Crappy battery life
My current tech could make it useless (Have a laptop, 3DS, etc)
I feel like I'm caving in to peer pressure or something
    Easy to break
Can't easily put your own stuff on it (have to use programs, and stores and stuff, can't I just plug in an SD card, load it, plug it in?)"

You are going to have reoccurring fees to pay for service.
You can get a Moto G for 180$ off contract it is not in the USA yet. It is already releasing in some countries I don't know where you live.
I normally come home after using my phone constantly and running tether for at least 6 hours and my phone still has 60% battery left.
Not really most my Motorola phones are solid the Moto X can take a beating.
Otherwise you can get on Verizon Edge or Sprint One Up and not have to pay up front.
That only matters if that is your motivation, you are clearly looking at how and why you want it.

Don't you have to use programs anyway on everything. I can put pretty much anything on my phone so as long as it is built for ARM processors.

No it could have an AM2+ socket you don't know what he has.
AMD put dual memory controllers one for DDR3 and DDR2 in these CPU.
