Why can't we make an improvement on what we already have? This isn't about removing biomes. This is about improving the ones we have!

Agreed. Seems like people now think that anything that existed a few years ago is obsolete, useless, and stupid and therefore every single new update we have will always be better than what we had before.

any other feedback guys? I can tell this may get a lot of hate, and people would say "IT IS USELESS ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CHANGE THE DIFFICULTY ONCE RETARD".

Hopefully there will be a mod soon that brings the old difficulty system back.

Shouldn't we be able to have a default difficulty, so that if we set the default as "hard", then whenever world is created it will load with that difficulty. Obviously I know you can just change the difficulty after making the world, but that's a hassle if you creating a lot and sometime I forget to.

Endermen. Period. They are so annoying, even though they aren't common. They just teleport, and get angry when you look at them. I wish Mojang made it so that you could get ender pearls in another fashion.

posted a message on Freeze Command! Freeze All Mobs, Water, Fire, and Other Stuff!
This is new cheat/command that should be added into Minecraft:

    /freezeall

There should be a command that would freeze EVERYTHING in Minecraft (except yourself; you can still move). There is already a command called "/gamerule doDaylightCycle false" to pause the sun and moon (make it stop moving its cycle). But this one would freeze much more stuff. This would pause not only the Sun and Moon, but also mobs (and mob spawning), flowing (moving) water, spreading fire, decaying leaves, and more (See "Basic Info" spoiler for more. just like when you press ESC to pause the game, except the player can still move. See more below in the spoilers for more details.

Also, I am pretty sure this suggestion is original. I came up with it myself (well, with a little inspiration from "gamerule doDaylightCycle false" in Vanilla), but I haven't seen any topics like this. I don't think it is in Singleplayer Commands, so this ought to be an original suggestion.
Actually, I just found out there is a command in Singleplayer Commands similar to this one, but that only freezes mobs. So I renamed the command from /freeze to /freezeall.

    Basic Info

This command freezes (pauses) the following:
    • Sun
    • Moon
    • Moving/Flowing Water
    • Moving/Flowing Lava
    • Mobs
    • Mob Spawners
    • Mob Spawning
    • Spreading Fire
    • Decaying Leaves
    • Music Records (so you can actually play Freeze Dance with the other mobs lol)
    • Falling Sand
    • Falling Gravel

This is sort of like an upgrade to the command:
    /gamerule doDaylightCycle [true/false]

Once again, the command you want to type in is:
    /freezeall
And when you want everything to unfreeze, just type in that command again.

    Usage

The way you can activate/deactivate this is by using the command:
    /freezeall
However, you most have Cheats on for it to work.

You can use this command in many ways:
    • Keeping lava from flowing to you and killing you
    • Keep fire from spreading in your home
    • Stops mobs before they kill you, or if you want to kill them
    • Freeze Dance!!
    • Playing the game.....I forgot what this game is called cause I haven't played it since I was little; I think it's Red Light, Green Light where you try to get to the finish line, but have to freeze when you hear "Red Light"
    • Keep mobs from spawning naturally or out of mob spawners
    • Lower lag if too many moving mobs are causing lag spikes
    • Get mobs out of the way when you are working or building

    FAQ

Q: What if the chunks aren’t loaded? Then what?

A: This only freezes chunks that are already loaded. Of course, it does not pause the process of generating chunks.

    Taking Damage

The player can still take damage, obviously. But you can also take damage to mobs, but the mobs won't move. Mobs can die of too much damage, but obviously cannot drown underwater.

    Blocks

Piston/Redstone doesn't pause (the only reason it wouldn't is because it might make something go wrong). Flowing water/lava freezes. Falling sand and gravel will freeze in midair. However, when falling sand and gravel will freeze when you do /freeze, they will have to keep dropping down until they reach an integer y coordinate value, following the physics of Minecraft. So they will only freeze at an integer value, say, y: 71, but they never can freeze when they are at a decimal value, such as y: 71.4

    General Mobs:

Mobs can still be pushed by the player moving, and can take fall damage if you push them off a high place.

    Endermen:

When under the "spell" of the /freeze command, Endermen freeze. Endermen will not teleport or get angry if you look at them.

Please tell me if you like this idea. I hope Mojang will implement this feature one day. Please Support!

What is your favorite and least favorite biome in Minecraft, besides the Mushroom Biome and technical biomes (River, X-Hills, Extreme Hills edge, Beach, etc.)? The list of biomes to choose from is not in any particular order. Assume there is no mods installed.

    UPDATE 09/06/2013:

It appears that forest is favorite biome currently. Jungle is the most hated biome in this poll, the next being ocean.

posted a message on [1.6.2] VanillaPerfection (Alpha) - Improved Resources - Greener Grass/Leaves, Canyon Sand, & More!

    VanillaPerfection
    Vanilla, but perfect.
Based on the default textures, but changes made for the better.
Tweaked textures, color-correction and additional improvements.

VanillaPerfection Alpha v1.6.7 Prerelease for Minecraft 1.6.2

    Basic Info:
This is a Resource Pack that is very faithful to vanilla, but with tiny tweaks for the better.

    Features:
    • Better and greener grass (somewhere in between Vanilla forest and jungle biome grass, resembles Minecraft Beta Rainforest Biome Grass)
Note: The grass of this resource pack is greener than Vanilla Minecraft, but is not as bright
green as other packs such as Simple-Beauty or Antvenom's Pack.
    • Prettier sand which has more of a tan than vanilla, sort of like real desert sand.
    • Glowing ores (iron, gold, and diamond) which makes caves and mineshafts much better looking.
    • Cleaner and richer, more soily dirt (You no longer get the gray spots in the dirt as you do in Vanilla)
    • A tiny tweaked and better sun
    • Iron Ore has white specks in addition to the orange-pink specks.
    • Greener Foliage
This used to be an outdated texture pack, only updated to 1.5, so I decided to update it to a resource pack.

    Glowing ore and clean dirt!

    Prettier deserts!

    Greener Grass and Foliage!

Note: This resource pack is only in Alpha and is nowhere near complete. It needs much more editing and changes before proceeding to the stages Beta and Official. However, the pack is close to Beta.

    Installation:

Download VanillaPerfection (You would want to save it). Open up your Resource Packs folder by either opening up Minecraft, going to options, then clicking Resource Packs, then clicking on "Open Resource Pack Folder", or by navigating on Windows Explorer to:

    C:\Users\[YourUsernameHere]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks
Note: If you have changed your .minecraft directory or location, you should navigate there, but by default, it's the location above.

Then drag the zip file into the Resource Packs folder. Close Windows Explorer and in Resource Packs, select VanillaPerfection 1.4 in the selection menu.

Congratulations, you have successfully downloaded VanillaPerfection Resource Pack!

    Credits/Copyrights

I was not the original creator of this Resource Pack.

Here is the old and outdated thread:
    http://www.minecraft...3000-downloads/

The original author last updated it only for 1.5 and it no longer works in 1.6.2, so I have decided to update it to a resource pack to make it work for 1.6.2. I give thanks and credit to the original author.

However, I still have changed many features of this resource pack, so it isn't just a copy of the original.

Most of these textures are tweaked from Mojang's vanilla, so I don't claim these are completely original, and give credit to Mojang and the original author of this pack. I allow anyone to use the grass and foliage texture for their resource pack, as long as they give credit to me and the original author and also provide a link to this thread (NOT THE DIRECT MEDIAFIRE LINK, and do NOT mask the link behind ad.fly. However, you are not allowed to reproduce this resource pack on ANYWHERE on the internet. If you do, I will lock your thread. There are so many Resource Pack stealing sites such as minemodding.com and minecraftmodding.com.

In fact, there already is one stupid site that posted this without even giving the real link for this:

    http://bat-aloneblr-...k-for-minecraft
(I don't know why I posted that link)

So please do not post this resource pack anywhere else. Thank you!

    FAQ

How long will you continue to update this?

Well, this is an ongoing thing, so I'm probably not going to stop, as long as me and others like it. I also use this personally, so there wouldn't be any reason to actually discontinue it.

Will you change sounds, font, records, etc.?

Yes, that should be in an update soon.

Do you make money out of this?

Of course not, that's why I don't use adfly. This is a completely nonprofit resource pack and is only for personal use and other stuff that doesn't violate the copyrights.

    Bugs

    No bugs

    Mod Incompatibilities

    - Doesn't have any "actual" issues with Biomes O Plenty, but in some of the new biomes of the mod, the grass isn't green.

    To do list/Upcoming Features
    • Add Randomobs (possibly)
    • Change Enderman sounds to be less freaky
    • Change Spider sounds
    • Make sandstone look darker to go with sand (right now when you put the 2 blocks together, it looks like the sand is at a much lower light level, which is kinda annoying)
    • Change the en_US.lang file
    • Change more textures such as mobs, gui, and other stuff.
Please tell me more suggestions to add to this list to later implement it!

    Other info:

This resource pack is not for everyone. If you only like resource packs that have completely out of the ordinary made up textures (Dokucraft or Jolicraft) which completely change the health and food bar and items, then this is probably not for you. But otherwise, I think you would like it.

Why in the poll you made it multiple-choice? That means people can vote Yes and No together. A lot of people think that multiple-choice just means what it usually means, but on Minecraft Forum, it means that you can select more than one choice in the poll.

Besides...this is a silly idea. What does 70% control mean? Does that mean you can maybe only go backwards and not forward? And cmon....make it an option? Mojang is not going to make an option for something as small as that. And after 5 minutes you're dead? Unless that an antidote is as easy to make as with some dirt and wood, this would make it too hard, even for Hardcore.

How about instead of just filtering the vanilla textures you actually try and make your own, but keep them faithful to vanilla minecraft, like Vattic did.

I don't really like the Faithful, but I may possibly add more of my own.
