    I'm not sure if there's even a point in waiting because whether or not sea comes back is really a moot point. This mod has fallen so far behind the others that you'd either have to be crazy, never tried the others or extremely loyal to this mod to not up and leave. Or any combination of the three.

    Do you guys honestly believe that sea can catch up to the other mods who have full teams working on them by himself with a schedule so busy he can't even bring out anything substantial in an entire year?

    I suppose it matters little. Maybe I'm just trying to save what few people remain here from a long pointless wait. Perhaps a little too harsh too. But maybe it's time you guys started thinking for yourselves and coming to a rational conclusion. Do you honestly believe that this mod will ever see completion?

    Le bump. And yes, Forge tends to be rather slow. Don't worry too much about it though, as it is said that patience is a virtue. Just see this as an opportunity to level up your patience. Pixelmon will be ready while you wait.

    Guys, guys...There's no need whatsoever to get slanderous on any mod here. Or anywhere else for that matter. Comparisons are all fine and well, but it's devolving into typical hate-speak, that really gets on everyone's nerves. This isn't constructive.

    I'd simply recommend before talking of any of these mods to first give them an honest unbiased try. This goes for all parties... I honestly cannot believe that people shoot down every opinion here either. Reactions to pokemobs on the other threads are received with far more civility.

    Also, before you shoot me down for hypocrisy, irrelevance, or any other reason, here's my take on this mod:

    While the mod itself is good, and a few gameplay mechanics (ex; Apricorns) set it apart from the other mods, there are some canon errors with the games themselves (ex; Apricorns don't actually make modern pokeballs). Also, I am somewhat put off by the rather slow development, but I do believe it will pick up again eventually. Another note is that pokemon cannot learn any moves, which other pokemon mods have already implemented. Personally, I don't like how some of the models look, but that's as far as I'm willing to go on an opinionated basis. Note however, that the previous criticism may be based upon personal bias, however I am not fit to judge that myself.

    That's a short review by me. Enjoy.

    Problems:

    Scattering: Aggression will screw you over. If we did this, we'd have to scrap the aggression system, or rework it.

    Biome: The biome is inaccessible until you are higher level. Also, good luck if you spawn in one, you're screwed. This would make gathering materials more trouble then it's worth, and exploring is partly what minecraft is about. We'd be making restricted zones. Also, you can't catch low level X basic stage pokemon, and can't catch high level X last stage pokemon. There's a whole load of problems associated with it.

    EDIT:

    Read the post about clone biomes. Still gives the problem of accidentally spawning in one. Maybe something like Dwarf Fortress's mechanics, areas which could for example be "Serene" for low level pokemon, or "Terrifying" for very high level pokemon. Look it up if you don't know the game...Let's just say the game's motto is "Losing is fun!". There's lots of Fun to be had in Terrifying biomes anyway...

    There's still only one feasible way to do this in my opinion. And that is, to take one point, and increase levels the further away you are from that point. We need some independent entity in order to make this work in SMP...

    It is possible to use optifine while playing pixelmon, although the GUI will glitch. After a quick search of the forums, I can only conclude there is no fix to this...

    I'm not sure if McPatcher is incompatible, although personally I use the Magic Launcher. It works fine to the best of my knowledge, and is even easier to use then McPatcher. You might want to try looking into that.

    Because doing so is the absolute best to flip the bird to a competing mod, and can cause instant flame wars. It's one of the absolute worst and most disrespectful things you can possibly do in a modding community.

    Well to be fair we're kind of rushing to get SMP out. But yes, I do expect first SMP compatibilty will get a lot of fan following, so that's fine.

    All right. By the way, try not to be too harsh on everyone who posts here, it makes the thread grow, bumps, and makes us better known. It's all right to point them to the forums, but you seem rather...pushy about it. Not everyone wants to sign up for pixelmon weekly after all :P
