Just wanted to say thank you to Mojang, you guys have done something which not many indie development companies can claim to have done. Almost 4 million copies sold according to the count on Minecraft.net. I was fortunate enough to have jumped in to Minecraft in alpha and I've loved every minute of it.
Nothing can replace the feeling of adventure when you venture into a cave and get your first "oh ****" moment of standing face to face with a "lit" creeper, stumbling into a dungeon spawner and having six Skellies pumping you full of arrows or the sense of accomplishment from building your first hidey hole to absolutely massive cities or running a MC server.
No matter what game I play, be it Lotro, Everquest 2, World of Warcraft or the variety of titles I have on Steam, I always end up coming back to Minecraft. It's just been one hell of a EPIC ride. While I'll not be able to attend Minecon I am really looking forward to the future of Minecraft. So to Markus, Jens, and the rest of the crew at Mojang,
I usually listen to Neurotech's Antagonist album, for some reason I can listen to that over and over again while playing. Excellent music for going cave exploring or Creeper hunts.
as a sandbox type game structure I'd say no it's not cheating for singleplayer. I use Invedit alot to save time on getting resources, also use MCedit to import various schematics.
Created a seed world using "The Formation of Damnation" (just as it is, spaces and all), -1858041972 is what it translates to.
my spawn coordinates were:
x:-81.5
y:66.62
z:-81.5
was gonna use the world as a place to import large buildings with MCedit to create a small city
did some searching and just in the initial starting map area i found about 20 or 21 dungeon spawners within a 360x360 square sea to bedrock. That seem about right or is that a bit high of a gen rate for spawners in that small an area?
sorry no pics just looking for thoughts on this.
"omgjizzfacelol" without quotations will spawn you next yo a dungeon caved in by sand
Completely honest
It.....it... it actually works. I thought u were just a troll, but... wow. I spawned in sand, saw some cobble in a hole, fell down, dug one peice of sand and I saw a zombie spawner right there.
Even more, just dig into the notch that's carved in the wall and it opens into a nice little sandstone hidey hole
I Gimmped the terrain png, adding in Aza's cobblestone just because I think it looks so damn smexeh with your wood doors, sure it doesn't quite gel with the smooth stone texture although there is a white smooth stone that I may add in at some point. Great job on making such a beautiful texture pack.
