Are you currently sitting in a colder biome? If so, you may want to move out until you can make lots of furnaces and torches. I'm pretty sure I added heat data fir the decor/semi-functional furnaces and things from Grimm's mods. I may need to increase the amount of heat they provide if you can't stay warm in a semi-cold biome.

I've seen Zelda Sword Skills mentioned quite a bit, but I think it might be confusing along side DSS. :)

i'm maybe late, because i'm new to this mod pack

    but could you add this:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1286381-advent-of-ascension-16-new-dimensions-250-mobs

it's an awesome rpg based mod, with new dimension, boss, mobs and skills

    thanks for your attention

    Slcraft (The french/japanese dude)

    EDIT:
My server doesn't work ;(, I put the minecraft_server_1.7.10 in the folder but the startup.bat close automatically, and if I run forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1343-1.7.10-universal it launch but when I try to go on the server it say's Timed out (on the client) (and I know it's not my connection because I have a spigot 1.8 server and it works fine)

    Please help, thanks :)

In regards to Advent of Ascension, I'm going to unfortunately give the same answer in regards to adding it that I gave for Aether II:

It's a VERY large mod that adds a LOT of items including weapons, staffs, and many, many mobs, and I feel that it would be better in it's own pack with very few other mods. If I was to add this along side what I have there now (Grimoire of Gaia 3, Special Mobs, and Infernal Mobs) I would have to take a lot of time to do a MAJOR rebalance of the modpack, and at this point, I don't have the time to do that. Not to mention, due to all the other mods that add biomes and dimensions, I've actually nearly run out of Biome ID's, so I actually wouldn't be able to add it, because the Biome ID's would overlap, resulting in biomes spawning in the wrong dimensions.

I MAY release another 'crazy' modpack later that I've personally been playing that has Orespawn, Aether II, and AA in it at some point, but that's on hold for now until I can get Aether II to work without crashing. (I had to restore my world from a backup last night cause it crashed the second I stepped into the Aether)

Now, as for the server. The startup.bat has been setup with a large amount of ram. You may need to right click on it, and edit/open it in some kind of text editor and change the amount of max/min ram listed there. You also need to make sure you have 64bit java on the machine you are attempting to run the server on. Here is the default ram settings in that bat file:

    -Xms3G -Xmx6G

You may need to change it to something like:

    -Xms2G -Xmx4G

depending on how much total ram you have on your computer. Keep in mind, the server should not be allowed to use more than 50% of your ram at it's maximum. So, if you have 8BG in your machine, don't set it higher than 3-4GB for -Xmx

In regards to not being able to connect to the server, you have to check the server properties and find the port that the server runs on, and then make TWO exceptions in your windows firewall advanced settings for inbound/outbound connections using that port. If you go to the technic page for the modpack, and go to the help section, there is a recently added troubleshooting guide for getting the server working that has a link to the microsoft website that instructs you on how to add firewall exceptions.

Let me know if that helps! :)

Sorry if it's been asked before- I tried to look through at least the last few pages to see if anyone asked, but I couldn't find it. Is there currently any way (via config or in game hotkeys) to add items to a list of objects that raise temperature? I have a little private pack setup for myself and it includes Grims' Fireplaces/Firepits, and I'd love to add them to some type of list so that I can setup little camps in areas where it gets cold. :3 Thanks!

Oh man, those new mob designs are gorgeous. I've been using this modpack ever since I found it, and I absolutely love it; so much so that I've spent over a year creating/editing/altering matching textures for it for most popular MC mods (since I play modded MC primarily). I personally won't be updating to MC 1.8 anytime soon I don't think, but I can't wait to see those new mobs and implement their designs into the older altered version of the pack I have. Does she need any assistance updating? I would love to lend my talents if I can.

If anyone is in contact with Wayuki, would they be willing to ask her two things for me?

    1) If she would be willing to share the new mob textures for implementation into the older version of the pack

    2) And if she would mind if I shared some of my matching textures for people who play modded MC? I would love to make them available to people who also use this for modded MC :)

Thank you for your amazingly beautiful resource pack Wayuki! <3

The Aether mod is very cool, but very large, and still in heavy development so there are a lot of glitches- therefor, I don't have plans to add it any time soon. If I ever decide to release my Orespawn/Nevermine pack to the world, I might throw Aether II in there for good measure since that's a pack that doesn't have a lot of mods, just a handful of BIG, overpowered ones. :3

Not sure what you mean in reference to 'update was decided to be scrapped in favor of combat' Can you elaborate a bit?. And, I have indeed looked at that mod :D I tried it out, and since it had just been released, it was a little buggy at the time. I'll go back and take another look and see if it's improved! Thanks!

Yes, I think the poll is clear. Starting from version 0.9.0, the wither spirit will be disabled (possibly also for third-party bosses).

If that's the case and you decide to add third-party bosses, you might want to consider adding Ars Magica 2's guardians- they are pretty much a guaranteed source of skill orb drops which can be used to progress insanely fast through the magic tiers which allows you to acquire very powerful magic without having to make any of the lower level spells or components.

Incoming Update: I've added Enviromine and tweaked it to my liking :D It will be coming in the next update!!

    -Disabled Physics

    -Disabled Sanity

    -Disabled Air Quality

-Disabled Armor addon (Wearing armor won't effect tempature)

-Along with hunger and health, you will now also have to keep an eye on your body temperature and thirst. Temperature is effected by blocks that have 'fire' animations (Torches, Furnaces, Harvestcraft and Thaumcrtaft Candles, Bibliocraft Lanterns), etc. The smaller the source, the less the effect. If you need a small amount of heat on a cold night, candles and lanterns are a good choice. On the other hand, if you need a constant source of higher heat because you live in a cold biome, furnaces would be the best. Thirst will also be effected by drinks like juices and smoothies from Pam's Harvestcraft. These will be a VERY good early game source of hydration and minor temperature manipulation. (All juices and smoothies will cool you off a little, but lemonade will cool you off best!)

I am also looking into adding Grim's mods which would include decorative and functional fireplaces and firepits, and also lamp posts. Currently waiting on a message back from the mod author regarding permissions :) If he says no, I can add the config data for temperatures of the blocks, remove the mod from my install, and add a link to download it on the main post. Hopefully he will say yes though :D

ok i will see what i can do for you about the server hosting. i can probably easily pay for hosting. depending on how big of a server you want. i could pay for it every month.

While I do appreciate the offer, there's also the matter of staffing and moderation for the server, so it's a two fold problem. If I find that I have time in the future though, I would love to take you up on that offer :)

Edit: I've done a MASSIVE update to the modpack. Several mods were updated/added/removed, and I have made a new, updated server download available from the technic page. Feel free to download it and start up a little private server. IF you make it public please be aware of the EULA concerning MC servers, and my EULA regarding usage of my modpack (on my technic page).

See the change log here :D -- http://pastebin.com/7ZugyE5f

Edit2: Since MCA has been updated and thus fixed a lot of the server and npc behavior issues, I will be replacing helpful villagers with that after some testing. Look for an update later today :3

I won't do that, because otherwise werewolves would be able to murder villagers from all villages without the player ever knowing.

Not sure what Glenn's Gases is doing what can cause this issue, maybe report this issue to him as well.

If I may- it looks like Glenn's gasses is using an entity ID that Evilcraft is trying to use as well. Either mod adding the ability (via config) to change entity ID's or adding dynamic ID's would probably fix that :3

Do you have an example currently of the correct usage for liquid as a component? I tried a couple times fiddling around with a couple settings, but I could never get it to work right- it always crashed. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, I just need to know what that is xD

I'd like to try and get Primal Mana from Thermal Foundation to work as tool parts. Also, I doubt it has to do with your mod, but figured I'd ask; once I actually GET Primal Mana working as a liquid tool component- will it work properly pouring out of the smeltery? Currently I can get it in, but it refuses to pump/drain out.

Thanks for the info! I've been having fun adding lots of tool parts using gems from BoP, Project Red, and AE2 :D

Edit: As a note, this isn't necessarily directed at the OP- if ANYONE has gotten liquid working as a crafting component, I'd be interested in how you did it :D

Edit2: Just for more information, I've tried this, and it gives me a crash.
