Joecraft 80, it's worth noting how this was supposed to be looked into. Granted, we just barely got a bit taller mountains. It's that pre-gen fantasy I tell you. I think we all know by now, if you wanna play Minecraft just stick to pre-gen! The wonders of pitching to KIDS!!

    Quote from HotaruTomoe»

I stand by my feeling that Mojang is taking Minecraft back, at least on the X1.

It explains why nobody official has stepped into any of my threads to deny, or even comment, about my assumptions. Why they pretended E3 never happened. They don't want to admit it. Could be why they said next year; perhaps 4j's contract needs renewal then. They could remain in control of every other version.

It's the most logical way to solve the compatibility issue, in re: in order to cross play, all versions MUST be running identical code. W10 and PE both run PE code. After Realms, so will we.

And finally, this scenario has already happened, exactly like I describe, with Terraria. Its original developer has taken it over, killed off last gen and will be re-releasing it on current gen, recoded.

Yes, this is all conjecture. But they won't give us anything solid. Until they do, we just have to wait and see.

Don't expect any form of official comment. I don't know if even 4J Steve comes to these boards. Much less any other official staff

Ubergine, some of your points are valid, to an extent. To a degree, some aspects may get passed over or sheerly forgotten. This particular investment has never required constant monitoring. It was, as we all well know, a cash grab. As smart as that investment was, it still stands as a mockery of what it could be. We all understand how limited pre-gen was and is still, currently.

The one factor that continues to boggle my mind, is why not provide greater incentive for upgrading to current gen? I joined in after March '16. Which means I paid $19.99 for XB1 Minecraft and I have to re-purchase all the dlc I had previously purchased on 360. That's not just my problem. That is a problem for anyone who bought it after that. It used to be $5 plus all pre-owned dlc for MCX360 owners. So it's easy to see why those who bought in a bit too late, feel a bit cheated.

Anyway, my point is that 4J know exactly what they are doing. I doubt many things get lost in the mix of higher ups. The platforms are still nearlly split in terms of sales. It's time console version became it's rightful status as such. PE has tons of exclusives and gets more content, especially over the last year. Console deserves exclusives just as well. But that delves into the actual contractual obligations of the 4J team. Being bound to follow the PC updates, though it appears that is not the case, currently.

posted a message on Microsoft or 4j is lying. Which one?

I can't really imagine 4J staff don't know what they can share. This isn't the same little fledgling studio that worked on a couple 1 hit wonders. They have been working on Minecraft for years now. I'm certain they have all relevent data pertaining to their side of development. The fact is that console edition is a: A joke! b: Left with bugs that really do need attention. c: Has roughly 1/3 of the player base yet is the least frequently updated version, in regards to in-game content. d: Is held back by pre-gen standards, leaving those with the capability to move up high and dry.

Which is another point. A kid playing Minecraft on a pre-gen console or even a group of such a demographic, only knows a bigger map awaits on current gen. What kind of incentive is that?! We live in a day in age where whining and flailing about will result in your desires being met. If this demographic wants to tantrum because one version of Minecraft is superior to another, they can just as easily tantrum to upgrade. I'm sure their parents will eventually crack.

It goes without saying that console edition was treated as a joke from the get go. For quite some time I've heard the argument that 4J initially wasn't going to even add further features beyond the initial release. Well guess what? They did! That is the path they chose, now allow them to be critiqued for what needs to be fixed, what works, what doesn't and in general, what is tolerable. The bottom line is console edition shouldn't be this buggy, it shouldn't be this far behind and it shouldn't be held back by pre-gen limitations. Period.

If 4J wants to pursue that endeavor to continue updating pre-gen, then it needs to be a pet project. Let those who paid for more get exactly what they paid for

posted a message on 1.9 Hype train- ALL ABOARD!!

Over the course of the last few weeks, we have seen a few hints at 1.9 coming console side in the next feature update. What this means is in the next 6-8 months, we can expect to see the implementation of 1.9 features. For those who do not follow PC updates here is a list of the changes that are incoming.

    1. Combat System Update

    a: Cool down system

this feature effectively punishes spam clicking by reducing the damage done by attacks when spam clicking (or simply, constantly swinging your weapon)

in order to deal full damage, you must wait a brief moment.

Axes will have a reduction in swing speed, but will not suffer a penalty while spamming. Mostly due to the new nerf to it's attack speed.

    b: other buffs and nerfs

Swords will now hit multiple entities at once, provided said entities are within swinging range.

Swords can no longer block. This feature was removed in favor of the new shields.

    2. New Items

    a: Shields

shields are craftable in a crafting bench and serve as a layer between you and any incoming damage.

    b. Potion tipped arrows

potion tipped arrows can serve as a few purposes; as an attacker, you may use potions with negative effects to effectively inflict buffs and damage from long range. As a scout, you can use a new type of arrow that will highlight any entity hit by it. Meaning the entity may be viewed even through non transparent blocks. As a helper/healer, you may use potions with beneficial effects to aid allies at a distance giving your allies boosts, resistances and even healing them if needed.

    3. The new End

    The transformation of The End entails a few changes. First and foremost, is the expansion of The End, making large island-like structures that occupy the ffar reaches of the dimension. In order to reach these islands, you must defeat the Ender Dragon and use an Ender Pearl to enter the 1x1 portal that appears afterward. Once there, the barren landscape has little to offer beyond an endless amount of Endermen and death drops, but that little bit of offering contains the following;

    a: Chorus fruit

When eaten, this fruit will restore a small amount of hunger and cause the player to randomly teleport to another nearby location.

    b: End Cities

These cities do not house villages, they hold death. The new mob, the Shulker, that lies in wait here can cause you to float uncontrollably, leaving you to find your demise when you inevitably come back down. It's not the fall that gets you, it's the sudden stop at The End.

But within these cities lie some new blocks known as purple blocks, purple bricks and end bricks. As well as a new light source called the end rod. The end rod is unique because it isn't a full block, yet it can be placed on any side of another block. Standing up, hanging down or going side ways.

    c: End Ships

These pirate style ships are extremely rare. First, you must find an End City and then, that End City must have a dock. These may be extremely hard to find, but the treasure aboard is well worth it. Aboard the ship you will find a few odds and ends but the grand prize is the Elytra.

    4. Elytra

Have you ever had a dream that you were flying? Feeling the breeze of the wind as you glide amongst the clouds? Well, now you can experience that in Minecraft (without being in creative or through host options). This item takes up the chest slot so you will need to take that hunk of diamond off your chest first. Then as you exit the ship, hop on the railings and jump off. Activate the elytra and watch as the ground zooms by, the stars glimmer brighter, basking you in all your glory, Endermen jealously watch with envious eyes and a whole new world opens up to you. The world of "OHH NOO!! A WALL!!!! ARRRRGGGHHH!!!"

posted a message on Are You Ready For New Achievements???

With new achievements comes new objectives, new adventures and of course new experiences! But wait, there's more! With a list of brand new bug fixes you'll be able to; not have your game crash by [insert action here], and cows will not yet be fixed. Best of all, download the update right now and get banners absolutely free!!! You heard me right! Download the update, title update 41, and get banners absolutely free!

But wait, there's still more! 6 new achievements that. you can unlock and all you have to do is play Battle mode! Never mind if you have a poor internet connection or if the servers get laggy because right now, you can sharpen your sword and gear up for these 6 achievements that you and a friend can easily unlock together! NO ADVENTURE REQUIRED!! That's right! We took the most entertaining aspect out of this mini game and we want to reward you for playing it! So get out there and go for gold! or live! which ever service you pay for just to play online.

Also, as an added bonus we will include the brand new 1.9 update, complete in all it's glory, in the next 8-12 months! But before we ever add any further content to Minecraft, we will be adding 5 brand new mini games which include but are not limited to; Standing around watching friends build things, battle mode but in the sky, learning how to fall correctly, learning how to jump correctly and last but not least Survival of the fittest knock off!!

So stick around, buy all the maps we produce, earn all the new achievements and give us your money as we dull out the least amount of new content just so we can milk this game even further! Best of all, you'll even feel good about it! At least until you realize that we are genuinely capable of keeping pace with PC and PE, we just don't want to because updating that frequently is just bad because we refuse to utilize seperate files. But don't worry about us though. Worry about our trained attack dogs... I mean fans, when you question our compitency and willingness to provide fresh content, instead of meaningless filler.

If you built your mob spawner correctly and are not seeing results, try lighting up any caves within a 32 block radius of the spawner. That means 32 blocks in each direction. Bear in mind that you will need to go down to bedrock though.

I'd love to see it too! I just sincerely doubt we will see it. Everyone seems pretty cool with the idea of the combat system staying the same though. I am one of the very few that was looking forward to that. But in the very least we will get the potion arrows

it'd be kind of neat, but I don't see it happening. Also, these kinds of topics belong in the suggestions thread, just a friendly reminder. But until then, just pop on some headphones and play your preferred music.

tthe mathematic code needed to run the elytra coupled with chunk loading. I'd go into further description but I just lost a previous post that did go in depth because my Xbox one couldn't even handle the ads here without closing down the browser. Too many entities

posted a message on Are you bored in Minecraft? NEW CHALLENGE!

I, myself, get bored of minecrat. Just as I'm sure you do. Well, today I give you a brand new challenge!

    The NO XP CHALLENGE

    Q:

What is the no xp challenge?

    A:

The no xp challenge is a fun and unique method that prohibits any action that would result in experience orbs beind distributed, under any circumstance. These prohibitions include killing mobs, mining most types of ores, mating mobs, retreiving smelted or baked goods, trading with villagers etc.

    Q:

How is this fun or unique?

    A:

It's unique in that the goal of nearly every other xp challenge is to gather xp, not avoid xp.

It's fun because it forces the player to view actions and interactions in the game, in a new way.

    Q:

So does this mean I can't have things like armor and torches?

    A:

No. There are methods to gather every ore without collecting or spawning xp orbs.

    Q:

How long does the challenge last?

    A:

However long you want it to. I'd recommend 7 in-game days to start.

In short, the no xp challenge will change your approach to the game, considering you can't do any action that would result in xp including hitting mobs. Granted a stray cow is bound to get in your way at some point. Give it a try and invest in wheat.

posted a message on Cheating in Battle Mode? Unwelcome tactics

I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed yet but here it is.

If YOU have to bring a friend to win, don't play. It's not fun for anyone else.

If YOU get hit with a potion of slowness, that means you move slower than me. Not the same speed.

If YOU can kill me in 3 hits with a plain wooden sword... Please don't play. Not only is modding the game a ban-able offense, it also removes the fun aspects of the game.

Just bottom line, don't play battle mode period. Go outside and learn about the real world, like I will be doing shortly.

Now go on and spread your hate below

posted a message on 1.9 Console Edition (my body is not ready)

Over the course of the year and a half, that I've been playiing Minecraft, I have seen many changes, many updates. There are a few concerns that I'd like to address with that in mind. Mainly, how many 1.9 features will need to be nerfed, updated individually and what features may be slashed from the final cut altogether. It is worth bearing in mind that I have only begun to start researching again, so some of. this is a bit out dated.

Let's travel back, all the way to TU19. The update that changed console edition quite a bit. Adding in a whole slew of new features. After the update, only a few bugs were found tthat truly impacted gameplay. One of the biggest being the piston bug. Making it to where you could not power a piston from the sides. After TU19 was released, it wasnt until 6 months later, and 6 updates, that a few more additions were made in the way of custom superflats.

Along with the TU25 update came one of the most devestating bugs to this day. If you tried to delete or rename a world, it would instead delete your most recently played world. Obviously, for a lot of players, the world deleted was the one with the most time invested. 4J Studios reacted very quickly, fixing the bug in a 72 hour timeframe, but for many players, it was already too late.

After TU25, we didn't see any major changes until TU31. The update that changed the world, literally. There were quite a few bugs in the update that were actually, pretty well hidden. None were very threatening though. However, in order to implement the new changes, the world generation height limit had to be cut down. The current height limit for generated terrain, if I remember correctly, is 117. Though I've never seen terrain generate above 107, only trees beyond that.

Combining that fact, plus the fact that 2 of the most highly anticipated blocks have not even been added yet. The banner and the barrier block. Why were those blocks cut? Performance issues? Banners are yet another entity, and considering that armor stands had to be limited to 16 or 17, I believe. So if armor stands have such a strict world limit, how many banners would you be able to have?

Here we are, battle mode in hand. No new features. This is likely just 4J Studios playing catch up. They did just add Wii U Edition after all. But what does all this mean for 1.9? Purely from a speculative point of view, looking at the history of these updates. It means that some features are going to be cut. You may ask "Well, how do you know?" or "What's going to get cut and how will it effect me?" The answer is simple. Just look at the history.

    -Expanding the End

    =Terrain loss

    -New mobs

    =Happiness

-New blocks and structures in the End

    =more happiness

    -Elytra

=Extreme limitation, lag spikes while gliding

    -Mending

=Bugs with armor disappearing, breaking or not being repaired. Nerf to amount repaired per xp orb.

    -Frost Walker

=Bugs with ice not forming, ice forming after player has fallen through leading to getting stuck in the ice and dying.

    -Ender Dragon Respawn

=OMG it's the Ender Dragon! We should be able to tame it now!!! Happines.

    -Levitation

=bugs with player getting stuck in blocks, player no descending, player taking more damage than normal from falls.

    -End Rods

=Particles cause lag. End Rods not emitting light. End Rods not attaching correctly.

These are just some predictions. Also, this isn't meant to be mean spirited. Personally, I think the following things will be cut due to limitations.

    -Elytra

    -Combat Cool down system

    -Frost Walker
