posted a message on [InDev] MCSM - Automatic Mod Manager
I've been developing this little tool for a while, it's an automatic Minecraft Mod Manager, development has been pretty rapid to this point and we've made some steady progress on the Clients, we just need some input from the community to see what we should/shouldn't do.

    Current Feature List:
+ Server Memory - Server identified with an ID#
+ Automatic Mod Updates - Minecraft files are recompiled as needed to be fully functional with the server
+ Server Builder - Server Administrator will select Packages via the Master interface, Master will create package, and deploy to the server (Automatically/Manually, we aren't quite sure yet)
+ Basic Server Management - Master web interface will have basic functions to manage the server.
+ (Not quite sure yet) Minecraft Whitelist Manager - Clients will be able to submit whitelist requests, and if approved will automatically be added to whitelist.

    - Using Current System(layout) Mods will NOTbe able to be used if they are unsupported.
    - Current System Rejects Server Changes (Server checksum can't change otherwise it will redownload original from server)

I'm open to what you guys think I need to do with this, I think that how the Master Server is deployed pretty much determines the whole project. (Single Master server will have more Restrictions on mods, but more automation, and easier server management, and the Server Owner's Master server will have less restrictions on it, but all the packages (Changes to minecraft.jar, and other files must be created, and a compiling script must be created for the package, less features for more compatiblity with more environments)

+ Clients: Based off of Batch&BASH, Windows and Linux compatible
I plan to develop GUI clients for the OSs, but for now I'm just going to create basic Shell Scripts so that I can focus on the Master Server.

I'm also curious as to what mods you think I should include out of box.

posted a message on Launcher Command Line Parameters
    Quote from Surfjamaica

You launch the java rte, giving the file to load.

    java -jar minecraft.jar

java, specifies the program to launch(should be in your path to do this)
-jar, specifies the jar which comes afterwards which the program should run(jar is a parameter which the program recognises)
There are many other parameters which java can run. Just type "java' to see a list of them(in the command line, not a batch).

Do I need to pass the Username, Password, and any other parameters to the minecraft.jar? If so, how?

Hello, I've been planning and learning a bit of MS's BATCH scripting language and I've got an idea as how to make it work, however I need to know how I can go about executing Minecraft or passing the parameters to the launcher, I remember Notch mentioning it in a post.

UI from yesterday can be seen here:
I do not like the screenshot, I just posted it so that others can see the basic window manager/taskbar functionality. It pretty much shows the "task manager" running in the bottom and the window, the desktop part is nothing near what I will have in the final release.

posted a message on [WIP] KOG CP | INDEV! | Multi-Node Support
I'm developing a Control Panel that in the end should feel more like a OS than a Control Panel. Anyways onto the purpose of it. I have several goals in mind for this, mainly being: Multi-Game Support, Remote Command Processing, a new UI that none-few control panels have, and a in depth API for expandibility and end-user management.

    Current Dev Log: http://kogcp.info

    Planned Features (launch):
    +WM-like Interface
    +Linux clients
    +PHP&MySQL Based Kernel
+API for remote Applications as well as local(local referring to on the panel and remote referring to slaves)
    +Low Cost for Professionals.
    +Low Cost for Enterprises.
    +Free for Personal use.
    +Sandbox-Based Application Runtime Environment
+RA: Remote API, used for system automation/Billing Intergration (Only featured in Enterprise Versions)
    +Hostbill+WHMCS Support
+Out of Box support for (In order of Priority): King Arthur's Gold, Minecraft, Steam-Based Games
    Future Features:
    +Skinnable Interface
    +Windows Clients
    +Support for other SQL Servers
    +Support for Linux-Terminal Based Applications

    Progress: 15%
    UI: 30%
    Kernel: 15%
    API Interfaces: 5%
    Clients: 0%
    Apps: 0%

I'd like to see what you guys think, and what you think that I should add to my development lists.

posted a message on Xen HMV or KVM VPS for Minecraft Server?
    KVM>XEN>OpenVZ
Either or should be fine if the host isn't overselling the CPU, XEN and KVM pretty much guarantee that the ram you sign up for is the Ram you get.
