    posted a message on ResourcePack To TexturePack

    Thanks for the quick response, but sadly the two .zip file structures are quite different, I have been able to overwrite existing files in a texturepacks existing folders from the resourcepacks assets/textures/... but it is quite tedious so I was hoping there is a program such as the .jar file which converted texturepacks to resourcepacks.

    Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to turn a resource pack into a texture pack?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Well too bad because everyone uses enjin so there

    First things first, don't reply if you're going to not be helpful in the least, and second, people do make websites using other methods, Enjin is not the only way, I did a quick search and came up with other options...

    posted a message on OP can TP the Owner without permission?
    Hi Joey,
    your problem is that an Operator on your server is able to target the Owner rank of the server, correct?

    You should restrict such a rank to those you know well or if you decide it is the right thing to do as they have access to all possible commands on the server regardless of the permissions set, unless the permissions were set for that individual player in which case the permissions would control the allowed commands.

    ===========================================================================
    Excerpt from the Gamepedia page on Minecraft Operators

    Problems with untrustworthy operators

    • Operators have access to all commands, meaning they can stop the server, exploit commands, change game modes, and kick/ban players including the admins and server owners. This can be avoided in modded servers with a permissions plugin, which allow particular users to only access specific operator commands.
    • On SMP servers, untrustworthy operators can also be tempted to go into creative mode. This can result in griefing, an unfair balance, and disagreement among players. Once again, this can be combated using a permissions plugin.
    • Operators are also able to edit command blocks, so be wary that they may be changed by untrustworthy people.

    ===========================================================================

    My advice is that you should limit the players who have Operator status to those you trust, and to keep the other staff and such to a custom-made rank which you personally have set the permissions.

    If you need any further information, the Gamepedia page has some useful knowledge, and if that is still insufficient, then you can reply to this thread and I will try to help.

    posted a message on More Modes Such As Story Mode
    Basically I am thinking of more ways for players to make "Expansion Packs" for the game, Story Mode which is coming soon is something similar which is a remake of The Telltale games like Wolf Among Us and Tales From The Borderlands.

    Adventure Craft is an old "mod"(not really sure what to call it), but it made it possible for camera zooms and stories to play out, trying to make maps which have story can't be done easily without command blocks and third party mods or programs.

    Each mode would probably be able to use mods, resource packs, and a map all in one folder, then you could upload to a database which could then be downloaded.

    posted a message on Steam Workshop For Minecraft?
    For most PC players, Steam is a great client to buy games, play games, and play with others in the numerous games available. Just now I had a thought...

    "What if Minecraft was brought onto Steam and had Workshop Compatibility?"

    The Steam Workshop is a way for people to publish and download mods/addons/maps/etc. for any game that is compatible, for games like Garry's Mod and Team Fortress 2, this is a great way to find new content to play with or in Team Fortress 2's case, a way for the community to make new items for the game which can be rated by others and possibly be added as an Official part of the game.

    What do you think? Would this be a better idea than the Mod API currently being worked on? Since this gives players a better way to communicate with friends?

    posted a message on Mod API Idea
    What would most likely fix this problem would be the following:

    1. Server owners can only make clients download mods that have gone through a "secured" process, which would basically be checking the mod before it would be added to the database of mods for download. Yes this would make mod updates and new mods released to the public slower, but it is worth it so certain features can be implemented. Mods will probably go through a process anyway so viruses cannot be spread.

    posted a message on Mod API Idea
    Mod API: A "planned" feature for Minecraft which will allow users to easily download mods from a given database, this is not confirmed( that I know of anyway ) to be coming soon, but will be a huge addition to Minecraft.

    Idea: Server Mods Auto-Download

    Explanation: When joining a server that has mods, you will auto-download the mods, similar to the Garry's Mod Workshop in which you can have clients download addons which are needed to play on the server, the addons are stored in a separate location than the SP mods you may have installed so you will be able to play SinglePlayer without any additional addons from a server.

    I don't think that you can give a custom head a display name, just /give monstermanjake1 minecraft:skull 1 3 {SkullOwner:"monstermanjake1"} should be fine.

    You should be able to upload and download the maps now, so start keeping backups every once in a while during high activity, and I would be glad to help :)

    If you will let me help out, post on the thread so I can know ;)
