I'm sorry if this has been reported before, but I'm trying to build a farm where I "pop" pumpkins and melons into seeds using a dispenser with arrows, and I've noticed it's pretty inconsistent. Most of the time, it works, but sometimes it doesn't. I also tried dropping them into torches, but they just disappear, I don't know if that's intended.

"Walkabout" would actually be a more fitting name than "survival."

not having children is a problem.

So are you trying to say that you won't get married?

How is choosing not to have children a problem? There's already enough people in the world, so reproducing isn't a responsibility anymore, and taking care of a child isn't for everyone.

I tried LoL one time. I never really got into it though. Danthy, can you tell me why you're interested in it?

It's definitely not a game for everyone. It requires skills, teamwork, fast reflexes, and patience (especially when playing with random people). Some people are into that, some people aren't.

Whatever floats people's boat. CoD is popular for a reason, even though us minority think it's bad, if it's selling as well as it has, then a lot of people like it. People play games they enjoy, if they don't enjoy it they won't play it. In our gaming little circlejerk we might think CoD is a bad game, but try telling that to the millions that play that game.

I wouldn't say we're a minority. It just gets a lot of advertisement, that's why it's so popular. It's not bad, but it's not the best shooter out there either.

If it's good it'll get popular.

By that logic, CoD is one of the best video games out there right now.

Beta player. Nostalgia detected. Enough said.

(insert string of 1s and 0s saying Facepalm)

If you don't like it, leave. As simple as can be said.

You know, DrZhark helped Mojang add the horses. That just made his life a tad easier so he can add more stuff like dragons or whatever it is.

    He's up there with Hippolatimus.

There's nothing wrong with liking pre-1.8. Just because someone likes pre-1.8, doesn't mean they're nostalgic. There's a lot of things that have been changed, added, and removed from Minecraft between 1.7.3 and 1.8. The biggest one is probably the terrain. I bought Minecraft in 1.2.5, but I like 1.7.3, am I nostalgic?

All faction servers out there are modded. They could easily add this back if they wanted to.

Sounds great. Although I'm not a modder, you have my support. You should start a thread about it on the Ideas for Mods sub-forum. As for FC, he's been asked multiple times for help on a mod, and he have always said no, so I don't think you're going to get him to join you.

    posted a message on 1.7 NEWS/Features/Snapshots Compilation-[8/2/13] Biomes O' Plenty?!?
I think we should talk about fixing the terrain itself before adding in new biomes. Adding new biomes will actually just create more problems instead of fix them. You can always expect forests to look like one way, and deserts to look like another. They're too definite. Mojang tried fixing this problem by adding forests hills and desert hills, but they didn't help because they were too definite too. If they add more biomes, it will only seem that they added more 'variation' for the first few weeks because they're new to the eyes, but after a while you'll get tired of seeing the same thing again and again and again. "Hey that spot looks nice... Hey that spot looks nice too. Oh wait, that looks the same as the other one... And that one too..." The problem isn't that we're lacking new biomes, the problem is that we're lacking variation. And it's because of how the terrain is generated - technical biomes. Forests will have this height, this many tall grass, and this many trees per chunk. Deserts will have sand instead of grass and dirt, and have this many cacti per chunk. It wasn't always like that. Back in pre-1.8, we had the temperature system. If the temperature is this, the color of the grass will look like this and have trees like these. The height was not fixed to biomes either, they were fixed to the terrain. There were no "forest hills" and "desert hills" because we didn't need them. Mountains could generate basically everywhere and span between different biomes, instead of just having them in only ______ hills. That adds A LOT of variation alone. Of course there shouldn't be mountains everywhere, and there weren't, contradictory to what anti-pre-1.8 terrain people believe. There were flat land in forests too. Savannas and plains were also flat like they should be. We don't need new biomes, we need to go back to the old system and start from there. Will it take a lot of work? Yes. Will it be worth it? Absolutely.

TL;DR: no TL;DR, read the whole thing to really understand what I mean.

    BUT SAGE! It's TOO HARD!

I mean, it's not like I NEED a daylight sensor, I play on creative and set it to night only to take screenshots showing my flatland builds. I also play on peaceful because mobs are too hard.

It's not THAT hard, you just need to use your brain. Adding daylight sensors is like adding wireless redstone. Yeah they make things easier and more compact, but they take away the fun of figuring things out.
