Aug 14, 2013I've added the review, but make sure next time to read some things posted here. I even recently added this to the review post:Posted in: Maps Discussion
If you believe we have missed a review, then send a PM to WittyWhiscash, and he will get back to you as soon as possible with the review. If he doesn't respond and deletes the PM, then that doesn't mean he has added the review. Check the review list to be sure.
None of us are angry. Nor are we attacking you. We are responding in a mature fashion.
But to be rash in the face of mature people and to attack others, claiming you are being attacked and playing a sympathy card, is not the kind of community image we want displayed here. Please make sure you review your actions on this thread, and think about improving your behaviour here.

So, couple of updates, after doing what i could so far in the recently renamed (for the sake of that guy who had the area named Frostwater Falls) Bleakstone Precipice, i've moved on to the light blue wool in my map, Last Hold. This is what i got so far (EXTREMELY WIP here)
(its intentionally dark to hide the spots i haven't finished yet )
Also i spruced up my second intersection, adding a little bit of detail to make it less bland.
Both look great! Many might say the intersection is "TWO SCUAREE!", but I think it looks perfectly fine.

Undershallow Park is now coming along nicely!
@Drago I agree with you there about them being too "blocky", but I also really like them at the same time! They remind me of proper cavern stalactites, with rust and ore seeping down them. There's actually iron ore on the ceiling now in attempt to make sense of this. But I'm gonna work on making them look better either way! Thanks for the feedback
And @Apollo awesome as always, love both screenies
Love the name. Love the screenies. Love it all. Skeeto's map is best map.
Aug 11, 2013So, on the discussion of linearity, I found a couple videos on this. Thought people would like to watch these. They all talk about it, even though it may not look like it. And they are nicely animated too.Posted in: Maps Discussion
And for people who think "GRAAFEECS EES HOW GUUDE A GEEM LEUKS!", here. Proven.

How are my weapons? Keep in mind you have to work for them.
They don't feel "special" for some reason. Not sure why.
Add lore text? Make the name coloured? Make it so that it doesn't seem just normal. You can easily achieve that with NBTEdit/MCEdit filters.
-SNIP- Make it better. Make it special. Make it SOMETHING TO WORK FOR.

Arggghhh!!! Why is it that every time I forget to make a significant backup, the computer I'm using finds a way to randomly wreck?
I'll still be around, but won't be mapping at all until its fixed -.-'
Hope you can recover.

Community Question Time... *woo*
I was wondering, what order do you implement features of your maps in?
I go and make [redacted] areas, one-by-one, then I find out most the areas in the map are a piece of [redacted], so I go and redo them to be angelic.
In other words, I like working on all in an area, one area at a time.
Aug 7, 2013So I recently did some upgrades to the intersection I showcased earlier... I know the walls are still "bland" as ever. But once I feel comfortable enough to move away from mapping in 1.5.2, I will replace the sand with a coloured clay.Posted in: Maps Discussion
EDIT: Nobody will notice the fact that the font in my banner has changed. :3

I don't like it >< For one I have no idea which part of it is the intersection, so can't really compare it. For another I don't like the lava - stone brick - sand/sandstone combo, plus whatever that is lower down... clay bricks? Also, the lava falls look quite out of place and, well, random. Could we have some screenshots from a different angle? And yeah as Com said, bland walls, although I like the way you've used all the different types of sandstone!
