I really like the minimap idea, i was using a mod for that purpose but it kept crashing so i just removed it. That got me excited ITS WAY to easy to get lost sometimes, especially on a new server. I also will finaly get to mark or have a better idea of where i find nice landscapes and future building areas. YAY for minimap!

Id like to see some kind of mount, it would be rare to find one but worth the look. Like wolves youd have to give it some treats for you to ride it or keep it as a pet. 8)

NOTCH DEFENSE FORCE IN ACTION SIR!!!
    :iapprove: " Uhh.. whatever "

Im a fan of minecraft and am appreciative of Notchs talent. However from what ive seen Notch is not dedicated to this game and at times left the minecraft community hanging. The minecraft fans and the game itself is not his prized possession that he is constantly working hard on improving, yea he works on it but like i said he's not fully dedicated and If you keep up with his tumblr and twitter at times he even makes that clear. So for all you fanboys out there i cant understand why you defend him so much, like he's there with you showing the ropes and giving you diamonds and brushing your hair. :sleep.gif:. Im not defending all criticisms about Notch and the game, However its just plain stupid for people to flame anyone that is upset with the updates for the last few months. Or people who criticize in general, IF THERE IS NO CRITICISM AND NEW IDEAS AND COMPLAINTS MOJANG AND NOTCH WOULDN'T CARE OR EVEN KNOW WHAT IS GOING GOOD IN THE GAME AND COMMUNITY, AND WHAT IS NOT GOING. People reporting what they dont like and things that dont do well in the game give Mojang more of an incentive to work on it, to give more attention to it and improve.. I see it all the time, somebody posts that they are upset with something, then notch defense force fly in with flaming effin unicorns saying the same crap over n over again IF YOU DONT LIKE FUUUUU DONT CRITICIZE THE HOLY SUPREME BEING NOTCH, EVEN HIS BUGS ARE A BLESSING FOR YOU! APPRECIATE IT!! :VV: :iapprove: :VV: This is not in defense of just the orignal poster, but in general when people speak up or criticize they just get flamed with the same argument over n over.

Look, minecraft is one the first of its kind, one of the bigger prototypes of the sand box games and as we can see many more are coming out. The game is still and beta constantly changing in different ways with features and mods, so NDF, please, understand that criticism can be good for the community and development in this gaming market. For minecrafters who cant handle anybody complaining about something, your not helping minecraft grow, or opinions to spread.

posted a message on griefing, i see nothing wrong with it.

A real life analogy to BAN is BANISHMENT. Ban means you are completely unallowed to step foot into the server. Banishment on a server is like banishment from a world (or country, state, city, whatever). That's not a verbal argument or even physical fight.

Its analogy to what an INTERNET ban for griefing would be in real life on a beach. Its pretty rare for a person to own a beach, let alone owning cities, states, countries, or whatever. So yea, the word ban DOES mean banishment, which DOES mean to be banned from a place, but in the context given, its nearly impossible for me or most people to banish somebody off of a public beach for destroying a sand castle lols. So since you cant ban somebody for griefing you in real life, the closest thing to that would be confronting them about it, which most likely would be some kind of dispute. Whyd you grief my sand castle dud!? YOur getting a the BANHAMER!!!!!! * proceeds to flay fists around violently in a helicopter propeller type fasion *

Griefiers are fails. I can understand if it was on some anarchic pvp server, however most servers aren't that, and most people, dont own beaches :||||: :||||: :||||:

If somebody came up and destroyed my sand castle, id probably have to hold myself back from destroying his face lol. You did not even state how you would react if somebody did that, you just said they would not be real life banned so it shouldn't be a problem. Well in real life terms, a ban would be a conflict of either a verbal argument or physical one. Most people would react with anger and surprise if anyone stomped on their sand castle.

I think your metaphor actually proves that there is something wrong with griefing. Personally i think its retarded, just troll like behavior that deserves the BANHAMMER!!!!!! Lets say you just get finished with building a huge castle that took you hours on end, you leave the server to come back to a pile of rubble. It would be a lie if you said that you didn't care.

No such thing as griefing your own building. You don't grief your stuff, you take it down, or demolish destroy etc..

posted a message on What happens when Minecraft is....Finished
Minecraft is NOT a full game imo. If you see it as a creative game, the glass maybe fuller, but its leaning more towards an adventure sandbox game, and as far as the adventure part goes it still needs work. There are tons of mods for this game being created all the time, and a large majority of people are using them, hence people are not fully satisfied with game at its current state. When it does reach the end of line of updates and the game is done, there will probably still be modders clicking away adjusting the game in what ways they please so i doubt full development of this game will end aaanny time soon. Mo features would be cool
