    1. Oh boy, if this make you lose faith in humanity, you should open your eyes as much worst is done everyday all over the world.
    2. If its a personal attack then it should be resolve at a personal level, not trough the community
    3. No one is preventing FC to do anything. He's doing that to himself
    4. If I don't make money on a project, there is no point in keeping it to myself and the first thing I'll do is give away the code and assets to people who want take it in another direction.

    1. Love how there being worse things done all over justifies this. Anyhow, it all boils down to the same thing, but on different levels, people wanting what they want and not caring about anybody else's wants, needs, or feeling.
(note, the losing faith in humanity has more to do with nobody else on that stream objecting to this)

    2. It is a personal attack that was carried out in a very public matter, through the community (not this community, but a community) and I see no issues with resolving it here.

    3. It is very hard to exercise the creativity needed to design and program a mod while something like this is going on. Also seems to me would be hard to care enough to do so.

    4. Money may make the world go around, but there are far deeper problems here, and money isn't everything.

First, I just have to say that I am very sorry to see the state the world is in. None of this should ever have happened or been promoted, and people arguing that BTF is ok here are showing a side of the world that I hoped (vainly) did not exist.

The point is not even who supported it, I have issues with anyone who did not object to it. It IS a personal attack as much as anything else, and it is done by and supported by people who would be furious if the tables were reversed.

I am also sick of the whole thing, and irritated that it has caused FC to be unable to work on his mod. I know I would be also. I just hope all you people involved in BTF and supporting it are ready when it comes to be your turn to have relative moralism used against you.

Have you fed it? Dogs won't heal if their hunger meter is at zero, and you can feed them even if they are incapacitated.

I have been watching this project since the height issue made you restart, and I have to say I am very impressed. Impressed with your dedication and determination to do it legit, and impressed with your building speed as well. I like how you plan things out before laying the first brick too, something I also do with my small "big projects" now.

I will say that a mob trap that will kill spiders may make sense for white wool supplement, though for the other colours obtaining the dye would kill your time advantage. Also, this has the advantage of not having to deal with so many sheep...

I was wondering when you would start running into performance issues with that many sheep, and did wonder how many could even be reasonably worked, so glad you figured that out. I think I would have tried to automate the disposal process (lava blade maybe?) but then I haven't had to deal with that many sheep, so it might be worthwhile to enjoy slaughtering them.

Anyhow, looking great so far. Keep up the great work

    What??
    Incompatible with every mod?
So it won't work with other mods installed?
    That kinda sucks

I really, really don't get this attitude. I am speaking of the general attitude that it SHOULD be compatible with other mods, not picking on anyone in particular. First, I have played BTW and I don't feel any NEED for any other mods. Yeah, there are times I would like EE just so I could get some use out of all my flint, but I guess I can always use it for despawn timers. Second, I would rather have FlowerChild spend time improving this mod than taking the time to make it compatible with other mods (with the notable exception of the BTB collaboration) and having fun doing so.
One thing I find missing in many mods is balance. Fun new toys, but mostly quite easy to get and possibly overpowered. I for one prefer to have to work to get the new toys, that way I enjoy them more. If anything, I sort of wish the tech progression was a bit harder. I do know that working your way up the ladder seems to help you understand all the new toys better. I also find that the top end tech is incredible, if you can use it to its potential. So far I have come far short, but I have certainly enjoyed the ride.

Oh, since FlowerChild pretty much wrote this mod because he likes modding and he wanted to make a mod he would like to play, he probably doesn't care much if people are shortsighted enough to say "no forge, no compatibility, no thanks!"
Any balance a mod has can be quickly thrown off by adding in other mods, much easier to keep the balance if you are only developing for one mod. Also, incompatibility is an effect more than a goal from what I have understood reading the forums. (though I could be a bit wrong there...)

posted a message on [1.2.3] Legacy Better Then BuildCraft Thread (defunct)
I just have to say that I have had an incredible time "lurking" on both this and the BTW forums here for about a month. Finally decided to register so I could post a bit.

First, I am fairly new to minecraft in general. Never played it until after the official 1.0.0 release. Have spent far too little time since then NOT playing it though.
One of the first things I noticed in forum lurking in various places was the impatience of players for updates to their mods to be released, and one thing that seemed to me was that they were waiting for an update to the Forge before they could. Personally, I would rather not have forge compatibility than have to suffer through that.
Second, mods. I played for a while with no mods and enjoyed it, but was getting to the place where it was starting to lose interest a little bit. I hesitantly ventured into one of the popular mods, and while I liked some of the features, it seemed to VERY quickly get overpowered. Still have that save on one computer, and check it out once in a while.
I had read about some of the "popular" mods, but wasn't sure which to pick. There was this one mod, something about wolves I think, that several people really seemed to like too. Just didn't appeal to me since my experience with wolves usually led to their stupidity getting me killed or my landscape destroyed. (Wolves belong in dark places sealed up against their "AI")
Finally one night I just had to check the post and found out that BTW was not about wolves (mostly at least) Now I understand why Battosay says he just can't really play without it, don't know that I really want to any more. Buildcraft was the other mod that I was considering using, now it looks like I can try both at the same time. Even though I am not sure if or when I will do so, I thank you for making that possible FlowerChild. Thanks even more for BTW in the first place, I am glad we can enjoy the fruit of your "fun" of making this mod.

Anyhow, after working my way up the tech ladder in a new file, started over with my pre-existing save. Have to go feed some wolves and start to set up a bit of automation now.
