Check the error logs on your server, see if there's anything indicating network problems. How to check that depends on the operating system, but perhaps you can find it. For Windows, it's usually under "Administrative Tools", "Event viewer".
what am I looking for? there's a lot of errors/warnings on the logs, but none appear as network errors.
Recently, I've been experiencing an issue with my server. I'm running a 1.11.2 vanilla server for me and my friends, but everytime someone joins, they get kicked from the server and get theese errors:
-Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: Badly compressed packet - size of [/i](some random number) is below server threshold of 256
-Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.CorruptedFramException: length wider than 21-bit[/i]
-Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: Badly compressed packet - size of 1937918717 is larger than protocol maximum of 2097152[/i]
-[i]Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.CorruptedFramException:java.lang.RuntimeException: VarInt too big[/i]
I've tried rebooting the server, doubling the buffer, resetting it completely and boot it up with 4 gig's of RAM.
I don't know what to try anymore and all I can find on forums is client sided problems like wifi and internet problems, but if it was an internet problem, I wouldn't get kicked since I'm using the same internet and directly connected to LAN.
Not to mention, we can all connect to different servers and have no errors.
If you know anything about this problem, please help. It makes playing almost impossible and extremely frustrating for all of us.
