posted a message on Tips for building a town?
Try to keep the same kind of style with each building in terms of materials, shape, size, etc. That doesn't mean they should all look the same, but there should be some common theme to the village as a whole. Design buildings that are not houses that somehow add or contribute to the village, and use space creatively!

posted a message on Remote Building Project for the Enderruption Server
Hey guys! The Enderruption server (affiliate of the FacePalmCraft server if you know it), is currently looking for builders who can build sections of our map for our server!
We believe in a custom experience for the players, and that the players should be able to contribute to the server, so we're giving you guys an opportunity to help make the maps! I know some of you are probably thinking that that's just a way for us to scam you into making maps, but we also know that you'll probably be able to hide some loot in there for yourself and get away with it *wink wink*.

Anyways, the "Remote" is something that we're going to try with this project- we're going to let each person who applies handle their own section of the map, meaning that there will be no host server for this project.
We think that this benefits you guys in several ways:
    1. You can use whatever programs you want in world editing, which isn't exactly possible on a server.
    2. There will be absolutely no downtime and lag (which is prone to happen on our building worlds where we run it only when we expect people to be on to save cost).
    3. No need to deal with whitelist and all that finnicky stuff.

So, this basically means that you guys can work with it on your own time, low pressure and pretty much no deadline (unless it starts taking over a year or so).

Anyways, here are the PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
    1. The map be 1024x1024 (or close to it, no smaller, but can be slightly larger).
    2. The map must be of one of these themes:
Ocean (can have islands and stuff, we still need land please :)), Cave (so mostly underground), Skylands, Tundra, Canyon (with mountains please!), Devastation (kind of like nether, you can apply your creativity to it), Swampland. Repeating a biome already taken is not preferable, but it's fine if you do, we'll just pick the best if you do.
    3. The map must have a decently large area near the center, of at least 150x150 in size, that is mostly or nearly empty for a town to be placed. You could build a town if you wish, but we're probably going to knock it down anyways.
    4. Send the world file to my email [email protected]

    REWARDS
If you submit a map (even if it's not chosen), and we feel that you actually put some work into it (rather than generate a world and replaced all the dirt with sand and call it a desert, say), then you'll get a guaranteed spot into the Beta, as well as some Emeralds (our currency), at the beginning of the game.

If you submit a map that's chosen, we'll get you into Beta, get you Emeralds and have some unique rewards that will probably get places/objects named after you, as well as a special role to play some months into the server.

The actual server link (we're no longer actually part of FPC, and the map sizes have been changed, but the stuff on there is otherwise correct): http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1204883-fpc-enderruption-❰-insane-survival-dungeons-original-classes-finding-builders-❱/

What is your Minecraft name? Werds1

What do Ocelots like to eat? That's not really programmed in the game, but they do eat fish.

What's your favorite part about playing on a server? Getting to know the community and building stuff.

Were you referred by anyone? Yes, JTTCOTE.

Do you agree to abide by the Rules and the Building Guidelines? (outlined on our website: arcadiagames.net)
Not with everything. I do not agree with "You are liable for anything that happens on your account. "My brother did it!" is not a valid excuse. ", because hackers may get onto my account and do stuff. Obviously, I would notify if such an event were to happen, but I do not wish to be held responsible for such improbable actions.
Other than that, I'm pretty much cool with it.

The whole part 2 gets a + from me! I like the idea of glue, it would improve building machines very much. :D

Thanks a lot. Is part 1 satisfactory?

You start with a bucket of milk, 3 bottles, a slimeball, and a brewing stand. You combine the bucket of milk and the bottles in a shapeless craft to get back a bucket and 3 bottles of milk. (or you could get the bottles straight from the cow, either/or) Next, you brew the milk bottles with the slimeball in the brewing stand, and get 3 bottles of slime glue.

Being able to make blocks act as one would be invaluable. You could make the walls close in with only 1 piston chain (hard enough to make 1) and have a rising statue.

Ah... I see what you mean now. That makes much more sense to me, thank you. I'll add it when I have time.

Here dude, use this to create a recipe:

    Here's what it'd look like:

Though I think maybe this would be a better recipe:

Thanks for the link and suggestion! I think that your design works out better, as it would use more slimeballs (although soul sand isn't that useful either).

You can use soul sand to make the wither

Do you have a hidden meaning behind this post? I don't really understand the point of you posting it, unless you are defending me from the people who say that soul sand is useless. If that's the case, I deeply thank you.

    Ok, cobble, plank, gravel, sand.

Sure, but cobble is really common, and in what situation would using ladders not be better?

I actually mean more like a temporarily frozen state. I clearly whatsoever pretty much avoided my point (Sorry :3). What I actually meant was in the frozen state your vision could somewhat blur over, not being sure on the status of that being coded. It would just be a temporary disorientation for the player. Again this idea would be sort of like in beta, because I was making this up as I went, with only chunks of my ideas in order.

Ahh... so kind of like the nausea effect, but you are also frozen for a time? I think that could work, but what would stop the player from mining out the block? Regardless of that, I'll add you suggestion.

I think using sticky sand and gravel as traps would be a good idea. I agree with you that minecraft has not always made total sense, but would the slimes stack? So you can wait 8 times longer, but get 8 crops? Also, I was thinking of using slimeballs as a form of fuel, probably more efficient than coal or charcoal, since it's more rare. Also, slimeballs could be placed on a wall, enabling players to climb them, just as they climb ladders. Would that be overpowered or underpowered?

I think that stacking would have too much potential for griefing, as nobody would spend 5 real days waiting for their crops to grow. Slimeballs as fuel just doen't make sense to me, and if the rubber idea were to be implemented, it would be odd to see slimeballs cooking slimeballs. Slimeballs being placed on a wall would mean that certain block types would work. Otherwise, you could scale any structure on servers, and it would be a bit overpowered. If you specified the block type, I would probably accept it, depending on the block(s) chosen.

Your points are very well thought out, yet the Soul Sand idea doesn't catch my eye. One idea I do have, is the possibility of security. Instead of having something like an endless hole controlled by pistons, you could take 9 slime balls, put them all in a crafting table and voila! You have made yourself a good old fashioned slime block, with the same properties of glue. The block would essentially "secure" houses by trapping robbers or a griefer in a rather sticky situation. It would trap the player in which they can swivel or move their head, nor would they be able to move their body. Otherwise you have my support! +1

To clarify, would the person be able to move at all? If not, then would the person have to be teleported out by admins (or themselves, depending on servers), be killed, blow up the block with TNT, or mine it? If the person could move, but slowly, then there are cobwebs, which are now obtainable with Silk Touch Shears. I'm not sure if you mean either or something else.

Bow about placing it on the sides of blocks? You could then make a line of them and when pushed by a sticky piston (back and forth) they still stick together.

I think that it's not a bad idea, but it was already suggested here (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1600283-slime-glue-infinite-possibilities/), and that topic was locked. Furthermore, I don't see why you can't just put a line of pistons that all push.

I dont like the idea to make soul sand with slimeballs and im not sure about the rubber/trampoline idea but everything else is ok so i support

Is there a reason why you dislike soul sand? Would it make soul sand redundant, would it be useless, or something else? With your feedback, I would be a able to create a better balanced recipe/idea.

    Quote from CreeperSpy88

I like 2, 3, and 4. The rubber seems rather useless and doesn't exactly fit with the theme of minecraft. 5 doesn't make sense, because slimeballs would slow down the growth, but why would they double the amount of crops that you get? Sticky sand and gravel defeats the purpose of sand and gravel, because by the time you can afford to make it to build a house, you'd probably already have wood or cobble. As JTTCOTE2 mentioned, it's so much easier to just get soul sand in the nether. Other than that, great job though. You have earned yourself my support.

I think that doubling the amount of crops returned would be the only suitable offset for longer waiting times, but do you have a better idea? Besides, does and has Minecraft ever made that much sense? Also, I was thinking of sticky sand and gravel being used for traps, and that they would lose the sticky property after being triggered by redstone. I'll make the OP more clear on that.

the zombie flesh would have the damned part ,but i think it should only make one soul sand

Thanks for the idea, thinking now, I think that would be a far better idea.

What do you mean by brewing? There was no mention of it in the previous post you quoted.

loved the idea of throwing slime balls, the other not at all, support that throwing part

Could you elaborate more? I could see how this may not be to everybody's liking, but is there a reason? If you would respond, then it would be most helpful to me in that I could create a better product for us all.

Precisely, with the other posters. I wouldn't call myself a redstone expert or anything, but I still think that this (1.5 update) is a great update.
