Well I just brought the tower from sea level all the way to the top of the map. So like a dozen layers. Now it doesnt seem to want to work at all.
Tons of animals are spawning but no monsters really, or rather they are rare. Caves are lighted up, lights around tower, tower is dark, no clogs. Just seemed to stop working. The more 16x16 layers I add, the worse it got....
so Im a bit confused. Im wondering if I should tear some levels off.
I have a 16x16 tower with waterways on the 4 sides. when it was about 5 levels high I seemed to get more mobs to spawn then when it is now 10 layers high.
Is it possible to make the tower too high and have less mobs spawn? Or did BETA 1.3-1.4 cause mobs just to spawn less?
I have built a tower and it works quite well. But I have noticed that the higher up I go, the less monsters seem to spawn on the upper echelons of the tower. They mainly spawn on the bottom. All the floors are designed the same.
What I was wondering, does this have something to do with coding? Like if the tower is too high up and far away from you, monsters don't spawn at all?
Creating a portal should be dangerous, and I dont mean just when you go inside it, I mean to the surrounding land around you. if you can travel through the portal, then so should the pigmen. I think they should get aggressive once they come into your world and they will have a small chance to spawn on your side of the portal, making it essiential to block them in. I also think it would be cool if they brought monster generators and try to set them up if you didnt stop them soon enough.
I suppose this would continue to make creating a portal more and more worthless unless there was a truely useful item to be gained from there.
Oh and if you kill the vampire perhaps you get a chance to loot something like "bat wings" which allows you to fly for a temporary amount of time. Not sure what other rewards you could do with it....or maybe you get turned in a vampire yourself if you die from it and you have to hide from daylight! hah, I dun know
Title just about says it. We need a harder mob and I think a vampire that can maybe fly or open wooden doors which spawns skeletons/zombies (but not ghasts as I wouldnt want my house blown up). Vampires could only come where there is no sunlight and they will be silent when they come. Only a tamed wolf will be able to detect them by barking. This vampire will also be able to spawn his minions by torch light and the only way he can die is by a wooden sword or you can light it on fire. Or maybe a golden sword, not sure here.
This has prolly already been mentioned, but Im too tired to look it and too exxcited not to post it even if someone else already did! What do you think?
