I notice you updated the title with 1.8.7 (good to know the currentrelease is still compatible) but have not updated the content below "Notes and Recent Changes:" from where it says 1.8.4 still -- might want to do that just to reduce confusion. Thanks for all your efforts, truly it is much appreciated.

it does state specifically that this is a patch for Misa's textures, for 1.8. See above reply to me from Les, for the link to pscof42's 1.7.x patch for Misa's pack. "tl;dr" only gets you in trouble, You silly person. :)

and again, for those of you who are late to this conversation and don't read back more than a page, you can Patch the Misa texturepack for 1.8.x (for the time being) with Les's or xDoodlebug's patches mentioned earlier in this thread: Misa's Realistic Resource [1.8] PATCH by Les (Updated 02 Nov 2014) and/or XDB's Misa Patch [1.8]

I basically just use Les's patch, so I have them installed (top down)

and likewise, thanks for all your help with this.

on the side, I would like to know if it might be possible to split your patch into two segments to account for the difference in how you did the stained glass vs merely colored glass, so they could be applied separately for those out there who prefer just plain colored glass, as Misa had pointed out that she preferred keeping it as close to traditional minecraft as possible, in her own texturepack's thread.

well, technically it isn't dead, as Les's patch makes it perfectly usable under 1.8.x (I'm using it in 1.8.4 via MCPatcher, and it works just fine)

Well, Congrats on the new job, and hope things work out going forward. I understand not wanting to commit to anything here at the time being, but we won't give up on ya :) meanwhile the patch that Les came up with has enabled us to keep using your texture pack, so we DO have something to tide us over while you get on with the business of living your life.

Hopefully you will be able to revisit it at some point soon, so just remember, that while you may have thrown in the towel for a while, there is one important fact that should not be overlooked.

At least you know where your towel is. xD

actually typically in the real world it's gray or black, but minecraft isn't the real world, and we already have gray and black stone. in the real world all granite is not pink either.

One thing that turned up in Les's patch that I would really like to see kept in your own at least as a concecpt, is the colorscheme he used for Granite, Diorite and Andesite, where Andesite has a slightly greenish tint to better differentiate it from the Diorite rather than just be a different shade of gray. (since hell, the Granite is pink after all)

Cheers, Misa, hope everything goes smoothly. Having moved several times myself, I can appreciate your situation quite a bit.

I hope that once you get things settled, you will take the patch by Les into serious consideration for folding into your texture pack. I honestly would have given up were it not for that patch, which feels the truest to the original.

also I really liked what he did with the stained glass -- actual stained glass not just colored glass. (but the beacon effects remain the same)

I would like to see the birch block and half-slab changed somewhat as I don't think they work as well as they could but that'll all keep til you're settled back in.

Thanks for the tip on the architecture series too. good stuff.

Just for the record I too would like to state how much I appreciate this patch and how great it looks. the Stained Glass idea (instead of merely colored glass) is brilliant and has been incorporated into several structures as an enhancement aside from just color coordination, and I *REALLY* love the Slime Block texture -- the little bubbles trapped in there just make it so perfect

allow me to jump in here by ALSO pointing out that on my laptop running windows 7 and the most recent Java release , Minecraft swiftly becomes _unplayable_ dropping down at times to between 2-9 fps (no that is not a typo), but as I run Fedora linux on the same laptop in a dual boot situation, I tried it there and found that while I get the occasional spike when the system runs intensive processes like updatedb, it runs perfectly fine.

for those of you having real trouble, try running it under linux on the same hardware.

    Two things:

NOTE: to work properly, load Misa's Realistic Texture Pack and then my texture patch above that.

Does your patch work in conjunction with the one by pscof42 : i.e. do I load Misa, then pscof42's patch on top and then yours on top of that, or does yours completely replace the work done by pscof42 ? I found mention of both yours and his in the misa thread as pointed out by (I think) Kumasasa ? and am now somewhat confused.

    Change Log:

[Update 11/27/14] Added connected textures for podzol and carved red sandstone. few texture revisits/tweaks.

Also I think the date in your post is wrong on that update, as it is only the 15th of November so far...

The 1.8 update is still a struggle to work with, hence the slow progress. Understanding the code better hasn't really raised my opinion of it much. I still find it brittle and stubbornly resistant to every attempt to swap out textures dynamically, which is the heart of CTM and CIT. All for the sake of the frankly dubious optimization of baking custom model data into int arrays. Which is likely undone by having to allocate a new object for every replacement texture of every face of every model.

Phew. Sounds like you've more than had your work cut out for you... Appreciate all the effort you've put forward on this.

adding the patches works wonders, even without the mcpatcher adding the additional loveliness -- at least misa's pack is usable again with these

Misa, hope you get some time to combine these patches into a single work, at the least, as a step forward, but it's nice to know we don't have to use something else out of sheer necessity. :)
